OH YES, THERE WILL BE (NEW) BLOOD...

So, as it was revealed today by Dan on our forum, Armothe and him have decided to pass the torch to two old members and friends of theirs: Kevin (also known as TheKev316) and myself (Raptoralpha). We both are very pleased and honored to assume this task, and we will make sure to continue to keep on informing you about any new happening in the JP collecting universe (and with the new Sideshow line, we will definitely have a lot of work on our hands). Expect to see some changes on the site's design and content in the following weeks, but don't worry, JPToys is still, and will remain your first ressource site for news about Jurassic Park collecting.

IT'S RAINING PROTOTYPES!

From the same seller who brought to surface the prototypes from last week, a few prototypes recently showed up on eBay: several urethane prototype of the Coelophysis' limbs (from the first Jurassic Park series), and a primed sample of a Jaws Jackson figure. They respectively sold for $53.77 and $102.50, which shows that such items don't go for much these days. However, I can understand people not getting crazy about a handful of limbs, even if they're a nice example of what happened during the production of these toys... Thanks goes to forum regular Raptorbite for the heads up! And in other news, we have a new collection to show. Guillaume, from France, was kind enough to send us pictures of his wonderful collection, so feel free to take a look at it on the collections section.

SIDESHOW TEASES US...

The 2008 US Toy Fair is getting closer and closer as we speak, and Sideshow recently put a banner in their website with shadows of what we might expect to see. And look at the second shadow... Doesn't it seem awfully familiar to you? So, it looks like the first "confirmed" Sideshow JP collectible will be a statue or diorame of the King itself: good ol' Rexie. Only a few more days to wait and we will finally get to see it in all its glory. Thanks Oviraptor for the heads up!

...AND REVEALS IT ALL!

Finally, after months of expectations, Sideshow revealed today their first collectible based on the Jurassic Park franchise. And boy did they deliver! This awesome statue is a recreation of the final scene from the first movie: the Rex versus Raptors fight. I won't tell you more, and will let you enjoy the several pictures posted on Sideshow's website (click on the logo below). The pricetag is quite high, as we could expect, but for $249.99, I would say it's definitely worth it. Also, make sure to check out the exclusive edition which also includes the "When Dinosaurs Rued The Earth" banner. Also, in other news, we have two new dioramas by member JPDude. Make sure to check them out on his diorama gallery!

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER...

With a small delay, here is a little news about a prototype that was recently for sale on eBay: an unpainted testshot of the Dino-Snare Dirt Bike from the Lost World toy line. This item ended at $207.50 but, sadly, didn't meet the reserve price listed by the seller. With all these prototypes showing up on eBay and the Sideshow news, we can really call ourselves JP fans quite lucky, especially after the 2007 news drought! JPToys is also happy to welcome a new affiliate: Jurassic Toys. Be sure to check out their new design, and great-looking database!

REX VS RAPTORS EXCLUSIVE EDITION SOLD OUT!

Well, it didn't take long! As forum member Diurnal noticed, and after only 10 days, the Exclusive Edition of the Rex versus Raptors statue is already sold out! I hope you all had the opportunity to pre-order one. But if you didn't, don't worry, you can always add yourself to the Wait List, and still have a chance to get one if someone else cancels his order. Or you can settle with the regular edition which costs the same price, but doesn't include the neat "When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth" banner... Also, Sideshow revealed how many Exclusive Edition statues will be produced: 400 pieces. As you can see, it's quite a limited edition, as they probably wanted to test the waters before unleashing a full-scale line of statues. No word about how big the production number of the regular will be, though...
Also, don't forget to check out below your statue when you'll receive it. Since each piece is numbered, think of how cool it would be to own the 1st or the 400th statue!

REVIEWS, CATALOGS, AND SPECULATION...

Today's going to be regular forum member Roselaar's day. We have several interested bits of info to share, and they all come from him. So, here we go!

First, we have 31 new, great-quality reviews for you to enjoy, all by Roselaar. You can discover them in the Lost World and Chaos Effect dinosaurs sections!

Roselaar also uncovered some old catalogs from local Dutch toy stores featuring JP toys, and he was kind enough to scan them and send them our way. You can see what this kind of catalogs look here in Europe by going to our new Holland catalogs section.

And finally, some speculation about the unreleased Ornithosuchus with Dino Trapper... Roselaar recently reminded us about a strange eBay auction, which makes for a neat new point of interest about this elusive toy...

That's it for today, boys and girls! Have fun with this bunch of news, and stay tuned! We still have one or two small things in store... ;)

FAREWELL, MR. WINSTON.

It's indeed a very sad news we have to pass today: Stan Winston, one of the most well-known visual effects supervisor and make-up artist, and famous for his work in the Terminator series, Aliens, the Predator series, Edward Scissorhands, and of course, the Jurassic Park series, passed away on June 15, 2008, at his home in Malibu, California after suffering for seven years with multiple myeloma.

Stan Winston owned more than one effects studio, including Stan Winston Digital. The established areas of expertise for Winston were in makeup, puppets and practical effects, but he had recently expanded his studio to encompass digital effects as well. He won a total of four Academy Awards for his work, one of them in 1993, for that movie we all grew up with...

All our thoughts and prayers go to his family. Farewell, and thank you, Mr. Winston, for all the sparkles you put in our eyes for all these years. Thank you.

ORNITHOSUCHUS WITH DINO TRAPPER SURFACES!

Quite a big news for today's update. For the first (well, second, actually) time ever, the elusive Ornithosuchus with Dino Trapper has appeared on eBay! This set was known since this series' release in 2000, being mentioned on some boxes, but so far, we had no idea what it looked like. But now that we have a picture of this set, and especially of the, might we say, "flamboyant" Dino Trapper, the reason why it wasn't released becomes quite obvious... ;)

A big thanks goes to Lostworld4ever, Nix and Sjappie for telling us about the appearance on eBay of this gem. Make sure to take a look at this set's page to see more pictures and info about this toy!

REVIEWS... VARIATIONS... WHO WANTS SOME?

So, after our latest ground-breaking news about the Ornithosuchus with Dino Trapper, how about some reading? Regular contributor Roselaar has written a huge lot of reviews, including the four last ones of the Chaos Effect line, and reviews for each toy in the first Jurassic Park line. Be sure to take a look at them!

Also from Roselaar, we have several pictures of European variations of human figures (by the way, notice how European Skinners and Dr. Snares were part of the "Dino-Raiders" instead of "Evil Raiders"), as well as supposedly US-only dinos like the Carnotaurus. Definitely worth a look. And did you know that some Alan Grant figures from the JP3 line wore two pants? Well, the factory error pictures sent by forum member 0thebigwytec5 proves it!

And finally, for those wanting to know more about the Ornithosuchus with Dino Trapper proto that showed up recently, stay tuned. More news about this gem coming soon. ;)

NIGHT HUNTER SERIES TEST-SHOTS! AND SIDESHOW UPDATES TOO!

Hello there! Long time without any news, huh? But don't worry: today's update is going to make up for that. :)

Two test-shots from the canceled Night Hunter Series recently showed up on eBay: one from the Spinosaurus with Carr set, and the other from the Baryonyx with Ludlow playset. Only the two dinosaurs were for sale, without the human figure or any accessory. Still, they managed to fetch rather high prices ($570 for the Spino and $650 for the Bary), but weren't sold to the highest bidder, due to what looked like a huge reserve price (our sources mentioned a ridiculously overrated price of $4,500 each...). So, even though no one had the opportunity to buy these gems, we still have high quality pictures of both of them up for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

In other news, Sideshow Collectibles finally posted boxed pictures of their first Jurassic Park diorama: the T-Rex Versus Velociraptors scene. They also revealed pictures of what appears to be the production version of this diorama, which shows a slightly less stellar paint job (which could be expected), and which also shows what the "When Dinosaurs Ruled The World" banner from the exclusive edition will look like. Little reminder: this set is due to start shipping by the end of October 2008, so this shouldn't take too long, now...

Another news from Sideshow is the announcement of their new line: Dinosauria. Nothing is known about this line, apart from the fact that it should include several pieces with a $200-$350 price tag for each (yikes!). The reveal of such a series is rather puzzling, considering they also own the Jurassic Park license which consists of, well, one piece so far. So, will this new line be the nail in the Jurassic Park Sideshow coffin? As always, time will tell...

So, stay tuned for more. We should soon have several new collection and diorama galleries up, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled! ;)

NEW JURASSIC PARK SIDESHOW STATUE... KIND OF...

Well, Sideshow Collectibles won't stop surprising us, apparently. Too bad it's a rather bitter surprise here. This company, which recently revealed the first item in its Dinosauria line, didn't seem to be JP-inclined anymore, but still, they revealed a "new" statue based on the Jurassic Park franchise: the T-Rex Versus Velociraptors : Faux Bronze edition, a simple repaint of the T-Rex Versus Velociraptors statue recently released...

Yes, a repaint. This dreaded habit we hoped we'd never see again... And to add to the disappointment, this "Faux-bronze" edition is $299.99, which is $50 more than the painted edition. Yes, less paint, but more expensive. But here's the catch: this edition is limited to 50 pieces worldwide, which makes it the rarest released Jurassic Park piece of merchandising ever (well, as far as I remember). Is it worth the extra price? Apparently, it was for 50 people... :)

So, feel free to take a look at this new statue's page, and to comment about it in our forums!

THEY'RE JUST CUSTOMS, BUT STILL...

As Kevin said last time, we like to show what the Jurassic Park fan base is able to do. But today's news is going to be more toy related, with, first, this amazing Chaos Effect Euoplocephalus custom, inspired by the well-known unreleased toy, and created by forum member Dutchallosaur. You can see more pictures of this great piece of work in Dutchallosaur's thread over at the forum, and a video featuring this custom over here (yes, she even took the time to have a working action feature). Impressive work, isn't it? :)

Speaking of impressive (but size-wise, this time) works, check out this huge model created for a Haunted House attraction, and which is nothing less than a life-size Electronic Velociraptor, from the Lost World line. Now that's an attraction everyone would want to go to, huh? ;)

NEW JP TOYLINE PLANNED FOR JUNE 2009?

Very interesting, yet unconfirmed, news from long-time forum member Jaymz, from the UK. Here's the scoop:

Being bored today I scanned through the computer database at work and stumbled upon some interesting Jurassic Park toy info.

All information on the screen indicates (To me at least) that they're new, well... It's Hasbro so I'm guessing JP/// repaints again, but they come up as 2009 GLOBAL EXCLUSIVE.

Because I'm kind, I'm gonna give you guys all the info the computer gave me.

£59.99

Yes, thats £59.99 for a T Rex figure and it comes one per box, this thing is gonna be huge!

And forum member Dutchallosaur dug a bit, and added this juicy bit of info:

I called the German Toys 'R' Us Head Office, it turns out they WILL arrive in all German stores. The woman on the phone estimated they'll arrive in JUNE this year. And she saw all 4 things in her system!

Of course, we'll keep you updated as more info (or pictures) are available. So, stay tuned, guys! :)

JURASSIC PARK 2K9 PICTURES, AND LOTS OF THEM!

As you know, the new Jurassic Park toyline has been delayed, and will only be released in August. So, what's the best way to kill time? To drool over new pictures! The good folks over at Actionfigs.com got their hands over several pictures of the four Dino Battlers packs, and two of the new Dino Trackers human/dinosaur set, and were kind enough to let us know about them. Make sure to take a look at their website to see these new sets in all their high-definition glory!

By the way, this brings an interesting point. Considering the "Dino Battlers" name is only used for the small two-packs, and not for the whole toy line, how could we name it? For the time being, we'll settle for Jurassic Park 2K9, but feel free to share any idea you might have on the forums. Also, the set we saw a picture of a month ago, the T-Rex/Trike one, seems to have been slightly repainted (yup, both sets share the same assortment number, so unless it's a variation...). For the better or worse, you decide!

FIRST JURASSIC PARK 2K9 TOYS SOLD ON EBAY!

Although they are only planned to be released in one month, several JP2K9 figures were sold on eBay by a chinese seller. The sets sold were the Dino Battlers T-Rex vs. Triceratops set, the Dino Battlers T-Rex vs. Spinosaurus set, the Dino Trackers Billy vs Pteranodon set, and the Dino Trackers Diver vs. Spinosaurus set. One interesting thing is the fact that the Rex in the T-Rex vs. Trike set appears to be the brown version, instead of the more zany orange one seen recently. We'll see if it remains the same when more will show up...

In other news, the JPToys staff wishes to congratulate forum member Angelrex53, which is the happy mother of a little Kairi, born on June 1th! Congrats, Angel! :)

JURASSIC PARK 2K9 FOUND IN STORES, AND A NEW GALLERY!

Well, these ones saw the shelves a bit too early, but we're not gonna complain, right? ;) Forum member Chaosghosthunter was lucky enough to stumble upon three brand new JP2009 Battle Growlers today. Here's what he had to say on the matter: The hunt is on I found these three Battle Growlers at Toys R Us just a few minutes ago. I live in the Bay Area of Califorina. The guy who works there said this was all they had right now but they are Reseting the store to make room for them when they come in.. He said it would happen in the next week or two.. They are 17.99 each USD.. So, they're indeed starting to show up in stores, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled!

This is also the right time to announce JPToys' latest gallery to this new line: Jurassic Park 2009. There, you will be able to find high-quality pictures of these new gems. Enjoy! :)

NEW PAPO DINO, VARIATIONS, AND... JURASSIC PARK 2K10?!

Yup, you read it right: Jurassic Park 2K10. Of course, for the time being, these are only rumors, but still, from what we know, 2010 is shaping up to be a great (if expensive) year for Jurassic Park figures collectors! Here's the juicy bit: a few days ago, a reliable source revealed that there are few new sculpts that have been worked on for the next JP toy line, which should be released in 2010. Yes, new sculpts! Of course, for privacy reasons, he couldn't reveal which dinosaurs are going to appear in this new line, but he could still tell us that the line isn't just repaints and the new sculpts will be VERY easy to spot amidst the many repainted older figures, or that there will be plenty of new dino figures as well as (much improved) new humans, but that although the new figures are vastly superior to what has come out in the past, they could still be more accurate. And to the questions about the presence of new vehicles: "However I can answer this question, though I don't want to give away too much. Let just say it is a full line of toys- everything you would expect from a Hasbro boy's toy line. ;) ". Excited yet? I know I am. :)

In other news, we recently could settle the brown/orange T-Rex debate about the JP2K9 Trike/T-Rex 2-pack. It is indeed a true variation, and not just a prototype/released figure matter. Both versions can be found in the US and in Europe, so, variation hunters, you know what to do. ;)

And, finally, much to everyone's surprise, it appears that Papo released a new dinosaur: the Oviraptor. It was found by forum member Macularius on a french website called Eveil Et Jeux. Forum moderator Dutchallosaur took her chance, ordered one, and recently received it. A picture of it can be found on this toy's new page. Enjoy! :)

NEW CHAOS EFFECT...GAME?!

Wow, this is indeed quite an unexpected story we bring you today! We recently received info from a video game company called "Fool Proof" about a new game currently being made, and loosely based on the Chaos Effect toy line: "Jurassic Park Chaos Effect Unleashed"! Yup, you read it right. 2010 is definitely going to be a big year for Jurassic Park! Fool Proof didn't reveal a lot about their game, but apparently, they're going to use the "genetically mutated dinos on the loose" plot from the old toy line. And indeed, the box art shows a lot about their vision of the Chaos Effect universe. The "Teen" rating is a bit strange, but after all, why not? It's better to have a game made for everyone than no game at all.

So, stay tuned for more about this very exciting project. And meanwhile, feel free to discuss this news on our forums! :)

Update: Yup, as most of you guessed it, this news was indeed a good old April's Fools prank (hence the Fool Proof company logo). The art is originally from VyToR, a DeviantART artist from Mexico. Make sure to check out his awesome art! And stay tuned for "real" news, this time. ;)

Chaos Effect Unleashed

BEWARE: SCAMMER ALERT!

For once, we have not really pleasant news to pass. We recently were contacted by a person named Julian (last name not mentioned for privacy reasons), from Germany, who was claiming to own both Desert Spinosaurus and Tropical Velociraptor (the infamous CamoXtreme unreleased figures) loose, and wanting to sell them for $500. Here are the pictures that were attached to the mail we received:

Sadly, this story doesn't hold together anymore after closer examination. The JP tag... All of the CamoXtreme toys had the JP/// logo, and nope, these two don't. And, as forum member 0thebigwytec5 revealed, both were recently sold on eBay (as seen here and here, but this time clearly labeled as custom figures.

It's a shame, because these two toys are very good customs. But at $250 each, when they were bought at $40... So, if any of you receive such a mail from that person, you know what to do...

SCAMMER ALERT: PART 2!

Apparently, some people never learn... Following our article posted on Sunday 25 April 2010, warning potential buyers of Julian, a scammer from Germany trying to sell a custom Desert Spinosaurus and a custom Tropical Raptor while claiming them to be the real deal, it appears that our dear Julian tried to scam unsuspecting buyers on eBay, as you can see here: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330439255993&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:DE:1123

Julian followed our "advice" by adding a clumsy-made JP tag, but, how low can you get, also decided to steal JPToys' banner graphic and add it to this auction, as well as all his other auctions. Of course,eBay has been contacted about this, considering that stealing graphics from a website for commercial purpose is legally considered as misdemeanor, but meanwhile, eBayers, beware of this jul-ben seller... Big thanks goes to Jannis, who alerted us about this.

VARIOUS UPDATES, INCLUDING...THE PRICE GUIDE!

Hey folks! No big news for today, but something that many collectors have long been waiting for: JPToys' price guide has finally been updated! A huge thanks goes to staff member Roselaar who spent a long time working on a up-to-date guide. This was indeed long overdue, considering the guide hadn't been updated for several years... So feel free to cruise around the site and see how much you really should be expecting to pay in order to get these little plastic wonders. ;)

In other news, we also uploaded dozens of new pictures in the toy database, including many loose pictures (taken by fellow administrator Dutchallosaur) of items we only had packaged pics of, and variations, errors and other stuff submitted by our great forum members. Thanks to all of you, guys! You really help making JPToys the best Jurassic Park toys website on the internet. :)

Finally, you may have noticed we had a lot of changes in our staff recently. So, feel free to check our updated Staff page to meet JPToys' new faces!

NEW PICTURES, AND MORE!

Hey folks! It's been a while, but in the JP/JW toy collecting world, a lot happened! Since last update, TV spots and trailer for Jurassic World were released, toys and exclusives were discovered, and yup, the first JW figures are starting to see the shelves all over the world! So, indeed, there's a lot of controversy about the quality (or lack of, in some cases) of this new line, but hey, after years of drought, it's great to see new life being injected in our little collecting world! And meanwhile, here at JPToys, we're currently working under wraps in order to add news JW sections, as well as a few other surprises. So, sorry for the lack of updates, but it's for the best, as they say!

For today's news, though, we have a few interesting pictures to show you! First, Hasbro revealed the first repaints of the JW line, and... let's say that the colors are surprising (imagine if they had shown that on April 1st?). The new Stegoceratops is okay, but that Rex looks like Mountain Dew bottles were the only beverage available in its paddock. Thankfully, the packaged versions of the Ceratosaurus and the new Dilo make up for that. Enjoy!

So, stay tuned for our future updates! You won't be disappointed!

Hasbro eats dirt, Mattel inherits the brand!

This is it, the end of an era. For the first time since the release of the first Jurassic Park, future JP toys won't be produced by Hasbro (who absorbed Kenner in 2000) anymore, but by Mattel...

Back on Monday 18th, everyone was taken aback by an announcement by Brian Goldner, CEO of Hasbro, as reported by CNBC, as you can read here:

“We have had a many year relationship with Universal; we will no longer handle ‘Jurassic Park’ because they are unable to arrive at a mutually beneficial financial arrangement on that brand.â€

Even though rumors of a Raptor Squad and a classic JP line planned for 2017 were starting to hit the web, and even reports of Hasbro already starting to work on the Jurassic World 2 line, things would not go as expected. The main reason for this license loss was apparently much lower sales on the 3rd and 4th quarter of 2015 (then again, when you see the very few new figures released and the overall quality of what was on the shelves back then, it could be expected). Still, while this came off as a surprise, many fans actually rejoiced when this was announced, which can easily be understandable when you look at the lackluster treatment of the JP brand by Hasbro for many years (some would say since 2001...).

And the very next day, an official announcement was made by Chris Sinclair, Mattel's Chairman and CEO:

We are honored that NBCUniversal chose Mattel to help bring the Jurassic World brand to life, and we look forward to developing multiple new lines of innovative, engaging toys and products. Spanning three decades of sustained worldwide popularity, few entertainment properties have so successfully captured the collective imagination of millions of fans around the world, and we are delighted to be a part of this truly evergreen franchise.

Vince Klaseus, President of NBC-Universal Brand Development, also spoke about the matter:

We are looking forward to collaborating with Mattel and broadening Jurassic World products worldwide. The appetite for the franchise globally is stronger than ever with consumers wanting more. Mattel's global support, creativity and category approach to expand our franchise makes them the best choice to partner with for this brand, bringing innovation, technology and a host of new ways to play. Jurassic World is more than awe-inspiring blockbuster films, it's a brand that has been reaching consumers for more than twenty years on everything from video games, toys and apparel, to theme park attractions and live events. Our focus for the franchise is to continue to collaborate with best-in-class partners as we build and expand this iconic property into a mega-brand across our Universal platforms.

So there you have it: Mattel will inherit the JP license on July 2017, with their first products planned to hit shelves early 2018. Obviously, it's still too early to know what will happen with the current Dino Hybrid line (which currently only has three items released so far and is plagued with total lack of brand support and catastrophic distribution), and to the rumored Raptor Squad and Classic lines. Will Hasbro try to milk the license while they still own it? Time will tell... And as far as Mattel goes, while their previous offerings were hit or miss, their latest lines (Ghostbusters, DC Multiverse, ...) are mostly appreciated by toy collectors, and Mattel has an history of good relationship with fans and adult collectors (the Master of the Universe toy line comes to mind), so we think we can remain optimistic about what the future has in store for us, JP collectors. And we're sure that at least, they will realize that it's normal for a Velociraptor figure to have sickle claws...

Breaking news: Mattel will (probably) deliver!

Hey folks! Long time without any update (the joys of having a kid ;) ), huh? But it was worth the wait, this one is potentially huge!

As we told you last time, Mattel inherited the Jurassic Park/world license from Hasbro, and revealed they were planning big things for the brand. Indeed, Jurassic Outpost managed to dig up what we can be expecting from Mattel, and if they're correct (and they're usually more than reliable), we're going to have the best Jurassic toy line since, at the very least, 1997 (The Lost World line)! Here's the full scoop:

Recently, Mattel held a showcase for vendors, licencors, and more where they showed off their in-development and upcoming lines. As you can imagine, Jurassic World was there – and from what we have heard, it was easily the biggest highlight of any Mattel offering. We’re going to avoid going into too deep into specifics, as certain items will spoil future surprises, including things about the new film.

However, this is the lay of the land for the upcoming Jurassic World toys from Mattel:

3 3/4″ HUMAN ACTION FIGURES ($10)

Yes, human action figures are back – they will be roughly 3 3/4″ tall, and in scale with past Hasbro offerings. They will follow the Kenner styling of including a small or hatchling dinosaur, and some gear/weapons. However, from our understanding the gear skews more towards collectors than play factor (as in Dr. Ian Malcolm includes a film accurate flare – not a net launcher) – and the toys have articulation that will surely please.

BASIC DINOSAUR FIGURES ($10)

The bread and butter of the line – the dinosaurs are back! Roughly 6″ long, these are comparable to the basic non-electronic dinosaurs of the Kenner toy lines (or the Bash & Bites from Jurassic World). Much like classic Kenner, these dinosaurs are not dressed with permanent mortal wounds, and have simple articulation tied to a basic action feature. One of my favorite bits of news: size of the dinosaurs are considered when choosing what type of toy to make. There will be no miniature adult Tyrannosaurs – it will focus on smaller species like Velociraptor, and Gallimimus.

ROARIVORES (ELECTRONIC DINOSAUR FIGURES) ($15)

Slightly larger than the basic dinosaur figures, these toys focus on electronic roars tied to a biting mechanism. They again do not have open wounds, and while they are not posed as neutrally as classic Kenner toys, they are less awkard than the Jurassic Park 3 offerings. Again, the size of the dinosaurs were considered when developing these toys – so at this time, there are no electronic Velociraptors, but rather species of a larger size will be focused on.

SUPER STRIKE DINOS (DELUXE DINOSAUR FIGURES) ($20)

Slightly larger than the electronic figures, these hearken back to the classic non electronic Kenner dinosaurs of the medium size. An example that was described to use was a Stegosaurus with a tail swinging action that was very Kenner in looks. However, it was apparently closer in size to the JP 2013 Dino Showdows Pachyrhinosaurs.

LARGE DINOSAUR FIGURES (PRICES VARY)

Yes, they have a Tyrannosaurus Rex (two in fact!) and we have heard both steal the show. We’re going to avoid describing them anymore, as they’re worth waiting for the official reveal to be surprised! But it’s worth noting that there are more than Tyrannosaurs in the large scale, and some figures use a “Real feel†latex/rubber, have action features, and electronic roars.

VEHICLES (PRICES VARY)

Not much to say other than they’re film accurate, look awesome, and are scaled to the human figures. Everything in this line is sized correctly, much like the classic Kenner toys. The classic Jurassic Park Jeep has a few details super fans are sure to LOVE!

MATCHBOX (PRICES VARY)

Gone are the fictional vehicles – they’re being replaced with small film accurate vehicles from all five films! Some include small dinosaurs, and the entire lineup was described as similar to the Micro Machines (but bigger) sold alongside The Lost World. This includes some very cool playsets based upon movie moments!

GAMES (PRICES VARY)

There will be games – including something tied to pivotal plot elements of Jurassic World 2!

VARIOUS ‘SMART’/ELECTRONIC TOYS (PRICES VARY)

Drones, remote control vehicles, and more! While a lot of these won’t be cheap, they do offer great modern play functionality.

Some key notes: Mattel’s first Jurassic World lineup will be called something similar to ‘Jurassic World: The Classic Collection’. This lineup is scheduled to hit stores late this year or early next year, and is mainly based upon the first Jurassic Park. While they boast film accuracy for all their items, it does seem to also borrow from Kenner by featuring dinosaurs never seen in the films.

Sometime early spring (mid April) in 2018 the Jurassic World 2 toys will begin to arrive in stores. Much like the classic Jurassic line, it boasts film accuracy and a multitude of figures and offerings. From there, the line should continue to populate shelves with new waves featuring figures from the latest sequel, or past films. There are apparently quite a few more classes/skus of toys from Mattel than those listed above, so there are plenty of surprises in store!

It’s worth noting that some of the basic dinosaur figures were described as slightly exaggerated looking, with proportions and poses that were more cartoony than realistic. Our hope is that between now and release, those items will be refined and perfected to better match their film counterparts (and proper realistic anatomical poses). Otherwise, we’re thrilled by what the line is slated to offer, and cannot wait to see photo’s from it – there are quite a few more surprises Mattel has up their sleeves, so stay tuned!

So there you have it! While of course we'll have to wait and see if this almost "too-good-to-be-true" new line is indeed as amazing as it is on paper, but one thing if for sure, Mattel fully understand what we, fans, have always wanted, something we have waited for so long from Hasbro, all in vain... The only downside is the last part about "slightly exaggerated looking" figures, but we'll remain hopeful until the first pictures start leaking. But in any case, as the saying goes, "good things come to those who wait". And it appears that the wait for a true Jurassic Park toy line is coming to an end, finally. Stay tuned, the next months will definitely be most exciting... ;) A huge thanks to Jurassic Outpost for the scoop!

Mattel: 1 - Our expectations: 0 : First reveal of the Mattel line!

Hey folks! Today (well, yesterday) was the day JPtoys fans have been waiting for since 1997: we finally have a new toyline worthy of what Kenner did in the Lost World line, and dare I say it, a toyline that is better than the TLW line in many aspects. Bold statement, I know, but here, take a look at this small preview of what we can expect from this line:

Yup, what you seeing is real: giant Mosasaurus, 3" 3/4 figures (including, yes, an Alan Grant figure from the first movie), dinos in scale with the human figures, new vehicles (including a RC Gyrosphere), new species and older ones that definitely needed an update (I'm looking at you, '94 Gallimimus). This alone would have been a dream line when Hasbro owned the license. So, can you believe that this picture shows a very small part of what Mattel has in store for us, including a 3 feet long Super Colossal T-Rex, big vehicles, a classic line inspired by the first movie (the Alan Grant figure seen above comes from that line), an Herrerasaurus confirmed by Universal to be designed after the Telltale game version of this animal, obscure species never seen before in the various JP lines (Suchomimus, Protoceratops, Minmi, and many more), super-articulated figures (ball-jointed arms and legs on dinos, and an Indoraptor with over 15 points of articulation? Indeed!), an awesome packaging which pays homage to the first movie line, and many more? And to think word on the street has it that Mattel had to rush this line and couldn't spend as much time in Research & Development as they would have liked (hence the huge feet several figures sadly sport), we can only wonder what the following years will bring us, if this line is a success. And we're sure it will be. :)

As we mentioned above, a selection of items from this new line were shown yesterday during the Universal Pictures Toy Fair preview day event, where our good friend Chris Pugh, from Jurassic Outpost, was present and managed to take hundreds of pictures (which you can see on their Facebook page). He also uploaded a very cool video, which gives you an nice overview of what was shown:

Feeling the excitement yet? We know we do! After years of having to settle with sub-par quality toys and total lack of new ones for several years, we can say that Mattel is a true blessing for our small collecting world. And it's just the beginning... To give you an idea of how much Mattel is leaps and bounds beyond Hasbro, we uploaded Hasbro's (hopefully) last line in our database: the Dino Hybrid line. It speaks for itself...

Also, NY Toy Fair is just getting started, and many more new items will be shown in the following days. Stay tuned for our next article, which will be a complete checklist of every Mattel figure, with loose and boxed pictures when available. It will give you a sense of how large this new line is. Trust us, we're all going to be so broke... ;)

Mattel: First pictures of the 2019 line-up leaked!

Hey folks! If you thought 2018 was already hurting your wallet too much, well, 2019 is shaping up to be no different. As you can see below, the first pictures from Mattel's line-up for next year have been revealed on 4chan, and what can be seen is rather...interesting. We can see several items from a new "Savage Strike" line, including a Dimetrodon (from the 2018 Destructasaurs line, which is still unreleased to this day), brand new Tapejara and Styracosaurus (a species long overdue) figures, as well as repacks and retools from the 2018 line.

Also revealed were two figures from a "Dual Action" line: a Stegosaurus repaint/retool with rather funky colors, and what appears to be a Therizinosaurus with a great body, and a totally inaccurate head sculpt (unless it's a Therizi/Raptor hybrid, of course).

And finally, a new big T-Rex was shown, with what appears to be a thrashing tail action feature. Hope you still have some space after the four (six if you count the Battle Damage versions) big Rexes released this year!

So, there you have it for now! Of course, these are preliminary versions of what we'll see next year (to give you an idea of how different released items can be, take a look at these Roarivores early prototypes from this year's line), so expect some changes! We will of course keep you updated as more is revealed, so stay tuned! :)

A huge loss for our community.

Hey folks. We are very sad to report the passing of the creator of The Jurassic Park Collection Youtube channel, Prehistoric Land restaurant owner, JPToys forum moderator and long-time friend Astrid Vega, a.k.a Grincha, who left us on Friday, July 5, due to health reasons. A lively girl, an honest and cheerful person, she was an important part of the JP collecting community, and will be sorely missed. All our thoughts and prayers go to her family in these difficult times, but we know she will always be there, in the heart of every collector who had the luck to be in contact with her. Astrid, we'll all miss you...

2022's line checklist!

Hey folks! After a year long delay, this is it, Jurassic World Dominion is finally seeing release! And of course, Mattel is up to the task to spoil us with many new great figures, and is even bringing back vehicles, playsets, and a five feet long (biggest JP toy ever) Dreadnoughtus! Speaking of spoiling, beware that you'll risk seeing stuff you may not want to see yet if you don't want to spoil yourself, so go through our new checklist at your own risk... ;) As always, we'll keep updating this checklist through the year, so keep coming back! Credits goes to Toyopolis for their great pictures! :)

2024's line checklist!

Hey folks! Mattel has brought upon us a lot of things to love in 2023, with fun '93 homages, toys we would never have expected to have several years ago (I mean, if someone told me back in 2016-2017 that we would get an in-scale Mamenchisaurus or a Steven Spielberg action figure... :D ) and an overall satisfying continuation of our beloved Jurassic Park/World toyline. Is 2024 going to change that? Well, there's no sign pointing to it, with new '93 Classic sets planned following the tremendous success of this subline in 2023, a new mid-size format for the Hammond Collection, allowing for long-awaited species like Carnotaurus to be released in the correct scale, and more... So, enjoy the new Epic Evolution line, and be sure to come back, this list will keep on being updated in the following months! :) Credits to Jurassic Outpost for several of their great pictures.

Jurassic World Bubbles Up Jimmy Buffet

Toys you'll never be able to buy.

Hey there! Ever wanted to drool on something you'll never have the opportunity to be? I knew you did. Check out these auctions that were recently up on eBay here.

Yup, animatronic dinos used in the JP movies (the best toys ever, basically) sold for outrageous amounts of money... Isn't $100,000 for a screen-used hydraulic Velociraptor a steal? Happy drooling!

HE WHO CREATED IT ALL IS GONE...

In sad news today, 66 year old Michael Crichton, Author of our beloved Jurassic Park books and may great others, has passed away from a private battle with cancer. He will be missed by all of us, and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Rest in Peace Mr. Crichton, you will be missed.

FAMILY GUY JURASSIC PARK EPISODE?

Not entirely toy related, but because we here at JPToys.com like to showcase our own, forum member and former moderator Stitch has posted his take on a Blue Harvest style Family Guy cartoon episode. It has already been showcased on the Freakin' Sweet News website and is the first post in their new fan art section.

Discussion of the artwork by Stitch can be found here, on our forums. Stay tuned for further JP news updates!

For you folks in pacific time, thats 3 hours behind on Sunday (the 22nd) night! Be sure to check our the Family Guy Jurassic Park Fan-Art from one of our own!

Congratulations Stitch! Now we have 2 members from JPToys featured on national TV... Not that I'm jealous. ;)

ADULT SWIM ON CARTOON NETWORK - UPDATE!

As you all know, our friend Stitch at the forums had some of his amazing artwork aired on Cartoon Networks Adult Swim. For our foreign friends who couldn't view it, we have a link for you to watch: http://www.bumpworthy.com/bumps/1403, so be sure to check it out.

And I did a little digging and this weeks re-runs of Family Guy on Adult Swim (in the time slot the Bump aired) pulled in a number of viewers. How many you ask? According to the Nielsen Media Research Ratings... Oh, only 6.52 MILLION! As it's been said... FREAKIN' SWEET!

Congrats Stitch!

JP3 HQ GETS THEIR HANDS ON A TOY!

A JP3 toy to be exact! Here's their review: We absolutely cannot wait until May. First the trailer, then the merchandise. Yes, there have been reports have merchandise being released and 'on the loose' now, but the action figures, the staple of the JP3 merchandise, is released in May. That's why we were so excited to when we got the chance to get our grubby little paws latched onto an official JP3 action figure from Hasbro. We've taken a few pictures (although not the greatest in quality) and we've got a few details - and we think you should start becoming very excited. Right about... Now. For a while we wrestled with the option of tearing the package open and playing blissfully with our action figure for hours, but ultimately decided to keep the figure safely in its' case, and placing somewhere safe - and high (encased in a high-security, titanium reinforced, air-tight room) - where we could 'honor' this magnificent creation. OK, maybe we went a bit overboard, but lets just get this straight, the figure looks great. The Military General (the toy we received) is accompanied by a T-Rex and a really cool looking gun; but we have no idea what to call it. The detail level on the figure is extraordinary - at least (seemingly) twice the detail of the Jurassic Park/The Lost World figures. Although you won't be able to appreciate the detail on the toy until you get up close, take our word for it, it's good. Not too much else to report, the packaging is cool, featuring a roaring Spino in the front (ready to bite!) and the backside is a little preview/advertisement for similar-priced figures (we assume). The summary of the action figures is as follows: Heroic humans fight for survival with ferocious dinos using Re-ak-A-tak action! Make dinosaurs ATTACK with awesome battle action while the heroes REACT with dino-tame weapons! If we're not mistaken, we've heard this before (in the press release?), but evidently this is what's going on the back of the human figurines. WOW! I can't wait any longer! Check out JP3 HQ (www.jp3hq.com) for the pictures.

WHY ARE THE NEW FIGURES SO SMALL?

Not much going on in the toy world today but I did receive this e-mail from my good buddy Dan who asked the guys and gals at Hasbro why the new toys were so small.. Here's their response which even furthers my belief that they have no idea what the consumers want: "Thank you for contacting us regarding the Jurassic Park /// line. Our marketing team made the decision to change the size of the figures." Well, that's great for the marketing team but what about us consumers? I suggest that if we want to see things done right in the future that we should e-mail them and let them know how we feel! Our great reviewer Nick has completed his latest reviews on the Military General and Billy which should be up sometime tomorrow morning. That's it for now and have a safe and happy weekend everyone!

DINOSAUR CHOCOLATE FOSSIL

That's what the box says at least! Remember those cookies that were advertised with Burger King for the JP/// promotion? Well, apparently someone has decided to sell theirs on ebay. As of now, this is a Canadian only promotion so if you live in the states and would like to get your hands on a box...here's you chance! Here's the link for those interested in chowing down on some pre-historic choclate!

ANIMATRONIC SPINOSAURUS REVIEW

"Allosaur176" has posted his review of the new animatronic Spino over on the inGeNet boards. Here's what he had to say: "It is 23" long, other than the obvious dino damage, it also has 2 cuts on the other side of its neck... It has a posable tail.. A button at the right side base of the tailwhere the JP3 symbol is, which lowers the head and mouth opens and roars ( deeper sound than the other 2)... A button on inside under its ribs to make another sound, press once it raises its head and roars, press it again it lowers its head and roars.. The same as above for the cuts on its neck The rubber skin on its body is almost like the JP rex, cept a bit thinner The teeth are brownish color The sail is 2 1/2" high It stands 10" high at the top of the sail It has the same thrashing motion like the Thrasher rex ( move the tail side to side to make the head swing) I believe its sounds are the same as the re-ak attack one, i'll check tommorow The paint job is good ( could have been better around the wounds) On a personal note, I spotted this guy at my local Wal-Mart yesterday and I must say that I wasn't very impressed. I thought the paint job was lacking and overall the detail was low compared to some of the JP/// toys that have been released already. You'll decide for yourself but personally I don't think there's anyway that I'll be shelling out $50 for this guy.

ANOTHER SPINO REVIEW

inGenNet has posted a review of the new animatronic Spinosaurus by JP Site C. Here's some of what they had to say about it: "The Jurassic carnage continues with Hasbro's latest dino-might release, there Re-Ak A-Tak Animatronic Spinosaurus. Standing 8 inches tall, and a 2-foot length, this dinosaur is ready to duke it out with the mightiest of opponents. The sail on his back stands approximately 2 1/2 inches tall at its largest point. Finally, we get a bit of the old JP back. Real-Feel skin covers his body from head to tail. The arms and legs are molded in a hard plastic and are able to be moved. The tail has two joints in it that allow it to curve or remain straight and it allows for the thrashing action of the head, much like what we had with TLW's "Thrasher T-Rex." The roars are none other than the ones used in the small Deluxe Spinosaurus. The most impressive feature of this figure however, is its "Animatronic" features." Click here for the full review. In other JP/// news, make sure to check out the "Tonight Show" with Jay Leno tonight where Jay's guest will be JP/// star William H. Macy and THE man...Kobe Bryant!

WILLIAM H. MACY PLAYS WITH HIS TOYS!

If you're wondering just what in the heck I'm talking about then you obviously missed (shame on you!) Jay Leno's interview with JP/// star William H. Macy last night on the "Tonight Show". It was a great interview and Macy is just about as hilarious as they come. One of funniest moments came when Mr. Macy decided to pull out his action figure and start playing with it! He had the wave two Paul Kirby that we've seen the picture of and also the Stegosurus that comes with it. It was hard to make out much detail at all but the color scheme on the Stego was mostly black and blue from what I could tell. But don't take my word for it, head on over to JP Database where our good buddy Jon has the interview broken down into smaller segments to make it eaiser to download. Make sure to keep your eyes open (like I have to remind you) for these new wave two figures as someone on Dan's message board is reporting to have already spotted them at their local stores! Be sure to let us know if you spot any. Hey, I've got to go...the mail man just dropped off my animatronic Spinosaurus!! Have a great weekend everyone!

POSEABLE DINO'S REVIEWED

InGeNet has posted their review of the poseable dinos and it's not a good one and I must say that I agree with them 100%. You'll have to check them out and judge for yourself but I really think they are a huge dissapointment, Here's their review: "Prototype Beauty, Product Beast; Hasbro's Poseable Dinosaurs. I heard reports from several board members about the Poseable dinosaurs, Spinosaurus and Alpha Velociraptor being out on the shelves so i checked for myself. I found them at the local BigK Priced at $14.99, but I think they are not worth it. The spino is about 15 inches long with the raptor being a bit shorter. they are made of a soft, skin like plastic and they are well, boring. "Poseability" of them is mute and they dont pose...the tail bends a little and the head tilts some...the raptors arms dont move much, the spinos jaws look horrible, and the paint jobs are rather dull. Overall, it's a nice dinosaur if you like dinosaurs, but as for playtime, there is nothing to it. I refused to buy these, when will I buy them? When they go on discount! I give these toys a 1 out of 5, they make a nice addition to your dino collection, but they dont match what we have come to expect from Hasbro by now...." Have a great weekend everyone!

BK PROMO DETAILS

I found this story while checking out JP3 HQ this weekend about the Burger King JP/// promotion going on in the UK right now. Here are the details: "Well over here in Ireland (and UK) Burger King is doing a jp3 promotion on that paper stuff on your tray there is a LEGO-jp3 competition where there is a map of the island that is sectioned off in squares. It goes as follows: Spinosaurus is after you, he's faster than you but is he smarter? The object of the competition is to choose a square on the island where you think you will be safe. When all entries are posted 3 judges decide the safest place on the map and if your one is right you go into a draw to win LEGO Jurassic Park // studio sets.."

JP DINOSAURS...2?

I just finished praising my new moderator in the last story and then he comes through for me with this interesting bit of news about a possible new line of Jurassic Park Dinosaurs. Here's what he had to say: "I have heard this rumor that about 5-6 months after JP/// dies down that they will come out with JPD 2! It was in my salepaper! It said "Jurassic Park Dinosaurs 2!?" And it had all kinds of box shapes colored black with a ? mark on them!" Again, this isn't anything official so you may want to take it with a grain of salt.

JP3 HQ REVIEWS THE CARDS

Our good friends over at the HQ took some time to review the new JP/// cards from Inkworks which were released on July 11th. Here's their review: "What is it about cards that makes them so appealing? It could be their collectable nature, appearance, trading 'em, and it's just plain fun to have a few - and it's no exception for the Inkworks Jurassic park 3 '3D Premium Trading Cards.' When we were in Universal Studios, Hollywood last week each pack of 7 cards was retailing for around $3 - $4... And we thought that was extremely high! After talking with Inkworks about the situation, we found that the packs suggested retail price is about $2. Don't get us wrong, the cards are great, but 7 cards ain't worth $4 - so don't pay that! Look for reasonably priced packs in the $2 range, or if you really want to collect them, and save money in the long run, buy a whole box of 36 packs. What are the features of the cards? Besides being very visually attractive, they include a card number, scene description, and usually a smaller picture on the backside. Some of the cards, the 'Field Guide' ones, are 3D - when you're lucky enough to score 'DinoFX Specs' (3D viewers) - these also come with each box if you decided to purchase the whole 'shabang.' The 3D effect is minimal, however; the dinosaurs 'pop' off the card, but not by far, and it doesn't seem to change the whole appearance very much either. Still, it's a nice little feature that adds to the cards as a whole. Inkworks has a guarantee that at least one complete set (#1 -72) of collector cards can be found in each sealed 36-count display box of our trading card product. This can be good for fans of the movie - but it obviously hurts the value of the cards, because if you're guaranteed to find a complete set in one box it dilutes the value considerably. Inkworks is betting that you're not going after value for these cards, but because you love Jurassic Park 3 - and these cards accurately and creatively display the motion picture in a grand way. Inkworks is a great successor to Topps for the JP3 series - buy these cards if you're a JP fan, or looking for something fun to do on a rainy day!"

NEW REVIEWS FROM DAN J.!

Hot off the presses are these two reviews from our buddy Dan J. featuring the Tapejara and the Pack Raptor. Here's his reviews:

TAPEJARA

It's a bird!!! It's a plane!!! It's a JP3 Ptera with a new color scheme!!! NO!!! It's...TAPEJARA!!!! (Sorry, couldn't resist :-) ) I had seen pictures of this toy and was fully ready to hate it. And when I bought it from Toysrus.com, I was already dreaming up an excessively negative review on it, saying how it was a cheap repaint, how the colors gave me flashbacks to those POS known as JP:CE toys, and how in all my diaromas it would be the dead and broken carcass providing food for all my other dinosaurs. Then I got it in the mail, and got a suprise. This is a really nice toy. First off: I would consider this more of a resculpt than a repaint, since the top of the head, wings and feet are different. The head and body are still pretty much the same, but that's ok. I really like the new sculpts, particularly how Hasbro actually sculpted a crest on the Ptera head, instead of being cheap and gluing one on. It looks nicer. I also like the little chunks missing from the wings of the Tapejara. It gave it sort of a realistic (sort of) touch. The colors blended a lot better than I expected, with the yellows and greens coming together real nicely. Look at the wings in particular, on the bottom, there is a nice green-to-white fade, and on the tops, there appears to be some sort of metallic paint that gives it a real nice shiny look. Are there any flaws? Of course. They used the same sounds from the JP3 Ptera on this. They did the same thing with the Pack Raptor, too, but that didn't bother me as much there, because they were the same species. Since the Ptera and Tapejara weren't the same, a different sound would have been nice. Also, forget about having it stand on it's feet: They aren't sculpted that way. Finally, the Hasbro toy people managed to bless the Tapejara with loose ball joints, just like it's predecessor. Overall: I did not believe Tapejara existed. And I did not believe that I would like it. But it does. And I do. 3.8/5

PACK RAPTOR

Some of you who have read my Alpha Velociraptor review on action-figure.com may remember me calling it "the DEFINITIVE raptor toy." Well, I lied. The wonderful Pack Raptor is in almost every way superior to the Alpha Velociraptor. For starters, it can actually move its jaw. That alone kicks it up for me. Also, the neck sculpt is designed a bit better, so that it can actually look at it's human prey. Call me crazy, but I like the color scheme here. It looks funky, but I think it works. It gives it a nice predator vibe. What would have made me give this toy an automatic 5, though, would have been to have it colored like one of the blue raptors in the movie. As I said before, the sounds are the same as that of the Alpha V, which brings me to an interesting point. Both the Tapejara and Pack Raptor have noises that can be triggered by a bone button. But since that is the only bone seen in the wound, it looks a bit out of place. It would have been better to have just colored it red like the rest of it. Now, I said that the Pack Raptor was superior in almost every way to the Alpha V. But that one can stand. The Pack Raptor has too much head and too little tail, which causes it to capsize forward unless supported, or unless you pose it so that one foot is flat and the other is resting on the corner of its heel. Also, the bottom jaw mysteriously juts out past the nose of the thing. Why? Overall: A big improvement over the Alpha V. It still has some bugs, but from now on, this will be the one attracting the attentions of my lovely

MORE HASBRO SALES INFO.

Thanks to Dan J. for pointing out this interesting little tid-bit on the excitement over at Hasbro for the JP/// toy sales. Here's what he had to say: Here's why Hasbro was so excited about early sales... Toy Industry Association reveals top selling toys as of June 2001. In a bit of news that might be interesting to collectors, the Toy Industry Association (TIA- the folks behind the massive yearly event: Toy Fair) has announced the Top Selling Toys introduced in 2001 (Ranked by Dollar Sales) as of June 2001. These include (drum roll!): 1)JP3 RE-AK A-TAK ELEC. DELUX DINO ASST.- Hasbro, introduced April - $10.28 each.

UK ANIMATRONIC SPINO UPDATE

Here's the latest on the Animatronic Spino for those unlucky souls living overseas :) Last we heard, the Spino was going to be released in various places overseas but now come this latest report from our man in the UK, Agent Smith: "Evil Jordy claims that when he rang up Hasbro for the first time to ask about the spinosaurus, the person on the other end of the phone thought that he was talking about the re-ak a-tak spinosaur. When he phoned again, Hasbro confirmed that the Animatronic Spinosaurus was a US only toy and would not be released anywhere else." We'll make sure to keep you updated on this story as soon as we get more information. Stay tuned...

POCKET.IGN REVIEWS KONAMI'S PARK BUILDER

Thanks to everyone who pointed this review my way. This site deals mainly with just toy related news but as I've said before I know there are many of you interested in these games and since the games and toys are so closely related, we'll continue to bring you both. Now on to the review. pocket.ign has posted their review of the new Park Builder game which they say has some faults. Here's some of what they had to say: "Konami's Jurassic Park 3: Park Builder is far from an original concept. In fact, it's been done before on the PC as Dino Park Tycoon. Konami's take on the idea isn't a direct port of that PC game, but it's a close rendition in pocket form, and it would have been a great game if the development team didn't assume that gamers would know what to do right out of the gate. Park Builder has some highs as well lows, but it's mostly good...if you can get through the necessary, but seriously annoying, trial-and-error phase." You can read the full

AGENT SMITH REVIEWS THE ALPHA RAPTOR

Here's another review of the JP/// Alpha Velociraptor. This one comes from our man overseas, Agent Smith. You can his full review here. I'll be back later this week with a new addition to the JPTC diorama family. Stay tuned for that...

GET THE JP TOYS RE-RELEASED!

My moderator, Tyrannosaur209 was kind enough to share with everyone on our boards this petition to get all of the Jurassic Park & The Lost World toys re-released. I'm just doing my part to spread the news...make sure you do the same!

JP3 DVD MENU SHOTS

Happy Columbus Day to everyone out there...well at least to all the Americans! Thanks to DVD Shrine, we finally have our first look at the menu selections from the upcoming JP/// DVD which hits shelves on December 11th. They have screen captures of the main menu and the bonus materials section. You can view them here.

JPTC TURNS 6 MONTHS OLD!

Hi everybody! I was finally able to drag myself to the computer for an update today after battling a touch of the flu for most of the week. We have a lot to get today (for a change) so let's get started. First off, as you can tell by today's top story, JPTC is now 6 months old! I owe it all to you guys and my staff for encouraging me when I thought about just calling it quits. But thanks to everyone out there JPTC has had over 58,000 hits and has become one of the most popular JP toy sites on the web in just 6 months. Thanks! Next on the agenda is our latest poll here at JPTC where you can vote for who you think would win a battle between the JP series one Rex and TLW Bull Rex...go vote! Last but certainly not least is our first Carnotaurus review. Slashaay was kind enough to share his thoughts with us and I'm glad to share it with you. You can read his review here. That's about it for today's update and I hope everyone has a great weekend. I know I will if my Seminoles can pull off an upset over the #1 ranked Miami Hurricaines this weekend in Tallahassee...we'll see!

"DINO-RAMA" 2 AWARD WINNERS

My good friend raptor1982 over at Jurassic Park Toys wanted me to let everyone know that all the votes have been counted and the results are in for the second version of the "Dino-Rama" awards. Make sure to check that out and we'll be back later with more...stay tuned!

NEW INFO. ON HASBRO'S JP TOY SITE & MORE!

Dan J. comes through for us again! Here's an e-mail he sent my way in which he asked Hasbro about any current plans they have for the fall releases of their JP/// toys. Also, check after this reply for information on Hasbro's new toy site. Well, after I got three form letters back from Hasbro trying to shoo me off, I got a little fed up. My letter and response is below: Hello Hasbro Consumer Affairs Associate, Thank you for your prompt last letter. However, I would still like to know what I asked. I have tried your website numerous times, and gotten nothing. The Jurassic Park 3 website is not up yet, to my knowledge. I was told in a letter that I could check back in the fall for more information on what you are releasing (I was told that you have over 25 of my letters on file, so you probably have that one). It's a pretty safe bet that you have releases finalized, since the big holiday shopping season is coming up and you want to have product availible to consumers. And I know that other lines, such as your Star Wars: POTJ line, have already been announced and release dates through Febuary 2002 have been finalized and made public in various magazines. All I am asking is what products you have planned or are releasing for Jurassic Park 3 through January/Febuary 2002. Specifically, I would like to know if you have any plans of releasing a Udesky, Nash, Cooper, or Ben figure, or if you are making playsets based on the Aviary or a Kirby Charter Plane Playset, because the Raptor Attack Playset was a miserable repaint, and I won't buy it, cause I could just dig the old pieces from my old JP Visitor's Center Playset and make that up for free. I just want to know what you are releasing from now through January/Febuary 2002 for the Jurassic Park 3 line. Looking forward to your response and NO form letters please, "At 10/18/2001 07:42 AM we wrote - Thank you for contacting us. There will be some 2 packs of the dinosaurs tentatively scheduled for release November of 2001. We have no more information on any other future products in this product line yet. There are no current plans to make the figures and playsets that you have mentioned in your e-mail. We appreciate your interest. Kelly Hasbro, Inc. Consumer Affairs Representative"

Huh...Well, I now think that the only way to see any of these figures might be through a petition. I dunno...are other people the way I am about this? (I would really like a Udesky and Nash figure, and a Kirby Plane). If I only knew how to put one together... Well, thought you might like to know. Have a great day!!! Very interesting to say the least. In other news, Dan also passed along that the Hasbro rep's told him that they hope to have their highly anticipated toy site up by the end of this month! Thanks to Dan for sending that my way and we'll keep you informed more as this situation develops.

BE SURE TO VOTE IN OUR LATEST POLL

Did everyone have a great weekend? Mine went pretty good. Getting to watch my Seminoles beat the Clemson Tigers 41-27 in Death Valley was pretty awesome. And to top it off the Arizona D-Backs pulled off a great win (and their first championship) in thrilling fashion. It's just doesn't get any better than a game winning hit in the bottom of the 9th to win the world series. A big congrats goes out to Arizona and their fans. To NY, you've had your fair share so it's nice to finally see someone else win it. But never count the Yankees out, I'm sure they'll get another shot at it next year. Now on to today's update. I had a hard time this morning trying to decide what to ask in our latest poll. So I decided to take a stroll over to our message boards and visit some of the "hot" topics. One of the most interesting topics I found was one asking what you like to see in a JP/// series 2? Well, I took that question along with some of the most popular choices from that thread and there you have it...our latest poll question. So vote away and we'll be back soon with more...stay tuned!

MORE PETITION NEWS & ANOTHER DVD REVIEW

Dan over at Dan's JP3 page posted the link for the re-release petition of the JP toys. Although I was a little dissapointed when I read that he thought the idea was "silly". Oh well, at least the word is spreading quickly and hopefully we'll start seeing some results soon. In other news, another JP/// DVD review has surfaced on the web. This time from DVDAngle.com. Even though they had some issues with the video quality, they seemed pretty happy with the disc overall. Here's some of what they had to say: "Even with that said, this DVD is well worth picking up. The commentary is marvelous, and the bounty of informative featurettes and vignettes are a pleasure to experience." Be sure to check out that new review and we'll be back soon with more. Stay tuned...

HAVE A QUESTION FOR STAN WINSTON?

How about this...a weekend update! Well, it is pretty early in the morning and I'm still on-line so I figured what the heck! Anyway, Dan over at Dan's JP3 page wanted to let everyone know that as part of the JP/// DVD promotion, JP special effects wizard Stan Winston will be holding a press day Monday where he will apparently field questions. Dan will apprently have someone there representing his page so if you have a question for Stan then you need to head on over to Dan's and submit it in the comments section of the story titled "Ask Stan Your JP3 DVD Questions". In other DVD news, Dark Horizons has posted a review of JP/// written by Mark A. Rivera. Click here to check it out. That's about all I have for now so have a great weekend everyone and Go Noles!

WORLD'S LARGEST T-REX UNEARTHED!

According to the Jurassic Park Institute, it looks like paleontologist Dr. Jack Horner may have recovered the largest T-Rex ever discovered! Here's a little blurb from the article: "Located in Montana's badlands near Bozeman, Horner describes the discovery area as being one of the richest fossil sites ever found. Digging in sediments 68 million years old, his team has recovered five T. rex specimens, several duck-billed dinosaurs, 50 Triceratops and a variety of other prehistoric materials that include crocodiles, turtles, and leaf deposits. Such plentiful and diverse discoveries will help Horner and his team to better understand the ecosystem that existed in this area 68 million years ago, which was just three million years before the dinosaurs vanished." Very cool indeed! And a big thanks goes out to one of our message board regulars Cool_Bambiraptor for pointing it our way! You can read the full story here or click here to view the video. We'll be back soon with more...later!

LINKS SECTION UPDATED

Before I let you go today, I wanted to let everyone know that I just finished updating the links section with three new sites. Two of them you are already familiar with but one you may not be. Over the weekend I received an e-mail from Steve who has just started his own site and I must say...it rocks! He specializes in finding some of the most rare photos (in several different categories) of Jurassic Park memorabilia that you have ever seen! I was very impressed and I think you will be to. The name of his site is Jurassic Park Memorabilia and you can get to it by clicking here.

JP3 SERIES 2?

You know it has to be some pretty major news for me to have a weekend update and this time it is! If you haven't checked the toy site "Entertainment Earth" recently then you probably haven't noticed that they have what apprently looks like a second series of JP/// toys up for pre-order. While the details are pretty sketchy right now, they did provide a list of what's included in each assortment: The "Ravage Dino 2-pack assormtent #1" ($60.99) includes the following: 4x Lava T-Rex and Velociraptor, 2x Arctic Spinosaurus and Stegosaurus, 3x Swamp Spinosaurus and T-Rex, and 3x Desert Spinosaurus and Velociraptor. The "JP3 Deluxe Biting Dino Assortment #4" ($77.99) will include: 2x Jungle Spinosaurus, 1x Night Raptor, and 3x Arctic T-Rex. Also available for pre-order is an Re-Ak A-tak Canyon T-Rex ($26.99). Everything they have listed shows a release date of February 2002 but they are quick to remind everyone that that date is subject to change. While this is new information and we don't have any photos (yet) you can be sure that JPTC will keep you up to date as more info. becomes available...stay tuned! (Thanks to Jurassic Toys & Alpha Carnotaur) Also, I just finished updating Steffi's dioramas with two more new ones. You can view them in the diorama section.

VOTE IN OUR LATEST POLL

First off, I want to thank the over 265 people that voted in our last poll! I'm pretty sure that's the most votes we've ever had here in one of our polls. In case you're interested in the results, here's what you most wanted to see in a JP/// series 2: Ultra Ceratosaurus (50) 19% Stegosaurus (4) 2% Ankylosaurus (24) 9% Gallimimus (15) 6% Maiasaurus (3) 1% Parasaurolophus (7) 3% Carnotaurus (26) 10% Ingen Laboratory (42) 16% Aviary (24) 9% Cooper/Nash/Udesky figures (61) 23% Other (7) 3%

Out of all of those it doesn't look like we'll get to see a single one in series 2. Which brings me to my latest poll question. What are your first impressions of series 2? Are they just a bunch of re-paints and re-issues or are you just happy to have anything at all? Be sure to let us know your opinion. One more thing to mention before I let you go. My good friend Carnotaur 3 has opened his own JP toy website and he wants everyone to stop by and check it out. So stop by and give that a look and we'll be back soon with more...stay tuned!

NEW DVD REVIEW + STAN WINSTON'S CREATURE FEATURES

One of the better DVD review sites on the web, DVD Review, has just posted their overall positive look at the JP 3 DVD. They've also posted a nice little behind the scenes look at Stan Winston's Studio called "Creature Features." Here's a snippet from the article: “I am in awe every time I walk into this room, just as you are now,†an energetic Stan Winston says when meeting me and a number of other journalists in the company’s conference room, which is filled with life-size creature exhibits from the movies he worked on. From one corner a T-Rex is staring at visitors, while the Terminator lets you look down the barrel of his gun. A beautiful Raptor is eyeing you as you take a seat and a gorgeous “Small Soldiers†diorama reminds us of some truly great movie highlights. But that’s not all, above it all tower creatures and monsters, filling up every available inch of the room, all of them so realistic-looking that it can in fact become frightening." Both the behind the scenes article and the DVD review itself are great. So what are you wating for...check them out! That's about it for today and what a day it's been! We'll be back soon with more so stay tuned!

MY THOUGHTS ON THE JP3 DVD

I had planned on writing up an in-depth review on the JP3 DVD but I changed my mind after realizing that most people out there have already purchased it and my opinion won't change your mind one way or the other however, I do have an opinion on it and here it is: This DVD is a must buy for any JP fans out there! If you've been putting off buying a DVD player for some reason...here's your chance to finally get one! No more excuses! This DVD is jam packed with extra features including a great commentary with Stan Winston and other great guys that were behind the scenes in JP3. The audio and video quality are almost flawless providing a great home viewing experience. Being the home theater nut that I am, I can tell you this is one of the best DVD experiences I've ever had and I hope you decicide to expericence it to!

NEW SITE LAYOUT & HAPPY HOLIDAY WISHES!

As you can tell, we have a brand spankin' new site layout! I've been working on it for a little while now and with the help from some of my staff, this is what we came up with. While it's not a drastic change, it is something a little fresh & new that still manages to capture the essence of the old layout. I hope you like it! Speaking of the site, don't expect many updates (if any) over the next week or so due to the holidays unless of course something big breaks, then we'll be right back here to let you know about it. BTW, we have a new JPTC poll up for you to offer your opinions...go vote! The whole JPTC team would like to take a moment to wish everyone a safe and happy holidays. It's been a very trying time this year for everyone especially us Americans and I think everyone needs a little break to reflect & recover. So have a very Merry Christmas everyone and we'll see ya soon!

HOLIDAY GREETINGS FROM JPTC

As I type this update, it's really Christmas Eve but I won't have access to a computer after today so here's your Christmas day update. I hadn't planned on having one until after the holidays but I just couldn't resist after I checked my email and waiting for me was a brand new JPTC logo designed by The Hatcher. He did a great job on it and I was easily able to find a spot for it in the new layout. I hope everyone likes it as much as I do! While we here at JPTC can't afford to give everyone a Christmas gift (as much as we'd really love too!) but we can give you a little something from the heart and here it is...Merry Christmas!

NEW REVIEWS

We have a total of three new reviews up and ready for your viewing pleasure today. "BubbleGum-Chan" sent in a CE Paradeinonychus review (our first CE review) and "-Wave3-" took a look at the Tanystropeus and TLW Spinosaurus. I hope you all enjoy those and we'll be back later this week with an update to the Diorama section...stay tuned! (Update - Wave3 just sent in three more reviews: JP Quetzalocoatlus, CE Roland Tembo w/Ultimasaurus and the CE Anklyoranodon...enjoy!)

DIORAMA SECTION UPDATED

A big thanks to Austin for sending in 10 brand new dioramas! You can view the new ones here or you can see all of his and others by going to the diorama section. That's it for today...have a great weekend everyone!

JP3 DVD BONUS FOOTAGE

How was everyone's weekend? I know it went well if you were a college football fan! There were several great games this weekend that really threw a wrench into that whole BCS thing. Plus my Seminoles finished the regular season with a 7-4 record after they beat the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 28-17 in Tallahassee. Oh well, enough about football...on to the news! First up, I noticed that JPAftermath has a link to some pretty cool behind the scenes footage that will be featured on the JP/// DVD which will hit the shelves next Tuesday. Most of the footage is stuff that you've probably already seen if you watched any of those sneek peeks before the movies theatrical release. The footage clocks in at a little over two minutes and can be viewed here.

MESSAGE BOARD WOES!

In case you haven't noticed yet this morning, we are currently having major problems with our message boards. The boards are still up and running and you can still post but for the second time in less than two months, all of the topics in the forums have been completly wiped out. This is very frustrating for us here and I know it is for you guys as well. I submitted an email to the ProBoards customer service department and hope to hear back from them soon. Until then, please continue to post just like you normally would and hopefully we'll have this corrected soon...sorry!

MESSAGE BOARDS BACK UP AND RUNNING!

If you read Monday's update then you know that we had some major problems with our forums early on Monday morning. I think the problem had to do with ProBoards having some kind of server upgrade (thanks for the warning) and at the same time I was trying to add a new forum all the messages went bye-bye. Oh well, the members at JPTC are the strongest out there and they've picked the board right up and put it back on it's feet (thanks guys)! Hopefully this is the last time we'll have to deal with something like this. Speaking of the new forum, that new one we added was a Paleo Art forum. So now all you artist out there can share your dino artwork. I know I've said this several times but one more won't hurt! If you haven't signed up with us yet... then what are you waiting for? Registration is very fast and simple and you can be posting with us in no time. Well, that's about it for today so I hope everyone has a great weekend and let's not forget to remember those that lost their lives 60 years ago today in the attack on Pearl Harbor. I know we all can't help but notice the similarities with that attack and the one that happened to us just recently on September 11th. So to kind of commerate things, I'm off to watch my brand new Pearl Harbor DVD...see ya later!

DINO BUSTS?

No, not those kind of busts :) While surfing around I noticed that Steve over at JP memorabilia received an interesting rumor from someone regarding the sale of JP dino busts staright from the movie molds. Here's part of the email: "Just received an interesting e-mail from Greg, He tells me that the "Stan Winston Studio", combined with "Universal studios", will be making available 1:1 scale kits of selected Dinosaur busts straight from the original movie moulds. The kits will be on sale in the new year, if anyone knows anymore about this please let me know." That sounds very cool (if it turns out to be true) and we'll let you know as soon as more details become available...stay tuned! Also, just a reminder to be sure to continue to check out the Premiere Props auction on ebay as they update the list frequently.

SITE UPDATES

Just a couple of site updates to mention before I let you go today. First off, for those of you that follow diorama stories, you may be interested to know that Austin finally sent in the last epsiode (#10) of T.I.N.P. and you can get to it by clicking here. Yesterday saw the addition of two more JPTC forums: JP Literature & Forum Feedback so make sure to check those out. That's it for today and we'll be back soon with a couple of new reviews from Bambiraptor so be on the look-out for that later this week...stay tuned!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It's hard to believe that another year has come and gone but it's has and as everyone rings in the new year, we here at JPTC wish everyone out there a happy and prosperous 2002! In the new year you can continue to expect the same dependble coverage you always have from JPTC. ANIMATRONIC SPINO ON SALE!

A big thanks goes out to "CLParker" for dropping us a line to let everyone know that walmart.com has reduced the regular price of the animatronic spino from $49.96 to just $25.00! If you weren't able to find one at Christmas for a decent price...now's your chance!

FORUM PROBLEMS

I just wanted to let everyone know that we are aware of the current problems with the forum although it doesn't have anything to do with something we did, it has to do with Proboards switching to a different server. As a result, all of the posts made after December 17th have vanished as well as the members that signed up after that date. Although some of those members have been able to post today without any problems. Here's a response from one of the moderators in the support forum: "I am aware that there are trouble with the boards that are being moved over, unfortunately, Patrick isn't around to offer reason to this at the moment. As i don't know for sure what is happening, my theory is that the data files are yet to be tranferred." Your guess is as good as mine as to when they will get this corrected but until then, feel free to post as usual and hopefully we'll be back to normal soon...keep your fingers crossed!

FORUM UPDATE

How was everyone's weekend? I hope it went well. Well, it looks like we're not going to get any of those deleted posts back from the Proboards server change last week. I apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused you guys but there's nothing we can do about it. Hopefully proboards is done with their upgrades for a while so we can get back to normal on the JPTC forums. Not all was bad for the forums though, over the weekend we came up with a new color scheme for the forum as well as a banner image. So make sure you check that out and if you haven't done so already, why don't you join us as a member on our forum? Registration couldn't be any eaiser and there's always plenty to talk about (even though nothing major news wise is happening right now). We just had our 105 member join and you could be number 106...what are you waiting for! :-)

UK DVD INFO

Our man in the UK, AgentSmith2K, has finally popped up again after a four month hiatus and we're glad to have him back. He brings with him release news about the JP3 DVD for the folks in the UK. Here's what he had to say: "I have some news, this time on the release of the JP3 DVD in the UK. Not much has been happening on the toy front, so I hope this counts... At first I thought the JP3 DVD would be unleashed in the UK on Jan 21st, which is what I read at Dan's JP3 Page. But, according to Amazon.co.uk, it's out on Feb 11th, so there is just a bit more of a wait. You can, however, pre-order JP3 at Amazon for £15.99, which is just over £4 off the high street price of £19.99. Dates may change, so I'll be sure to keep you up to date on this story!" Thanks to AgentSmith for that report but apparently there are people in the UK that have spotted the DVD in stores...sparatic as they may be.

JPTC WANTS TO SEE YOUR DINO-ROOMS!

How many of you out there have an awesome set-up or display of your JP toy collection? Well, if you visit this site on a regular basis then chances are you probably fall into that category. The reason I ask is because JPTC wants to see those great collections and so does everyone else! If you'd like to submit a few photos of your JP toy collection just send them to us at: jptoyscentral@yahoo.com but please limit the amount of photos to five or less. Hopefully as long as there's enough interest, you should see the "Dino-Room" section up here at JPTC very soon....stay tuned.

CUSTOM JP3 DVD COVERS

My good buddy Matt over at dvdcoverart finally got around to posting his custom jobs on the JP3 DVD covers. He bascially takes DVD covers that people aren't so fond of and then makes his own custom verisions available for download on his site. The results are fantastic and he has an extensive gallery of covers from other movies for you to choose from. In case you were wondering, he also has custom versions of JP & TLW available for download. For the JP & TLW covers he used the original theatrical posterwork for a more uniform looking trilogy when placing them on your shelves...check them out!

JPTC CHAT ROOM!

A big thanks to one of my moderators, Acro for finally getting me to add a chat room here at JPTC! I was able to sign up with Bravenet and everything looks good so far. Of course this is mainly a JP toy chat room but feel free to discuss anything you like (as long as it's clean :) So if you want to check it out, just click here or use the chat link in the menu to your left. I hope to see you there...have a great weekend everyone!

FORUM REMINDER

With all the wacky stuff going on lately with Proboards, one thing that's important to remember (until they fix it) is to make sure that you use dinodan.proboards2.com as the url for the forum. Please bookmark that address and we'll let you know as soon as we get word that they have corrected the redirection problem...thanks!

BONUS DISC HELP NUMBER

If you're like me and you're wondering just where in the heck your bonus trilogy disc is, then you've come to the right place. I did a little investigating last night and was able to find a phone number that will take you right to a Universal customer service rep. that can tell you the status of your disc. Mine was still in processing so I have a little longer to wait but at least I know they have received my payment/order which gives me a little peace of mind. The toll free number is: 1-800-698-8705...good luck!

CAMOXTREME...CANCELLED??

Thanks to our eagle eyed forum member, Mr_Goodbytes for pointing out that the new CamoXtreme pictures have been completely removed from Hasbro's website. Does this mean that they have decided to do away with the line all together? Well, I for one surely hope not but I know there are those of you out there that would take this as great news. Stay tuned to JPTC for all the latest details. *Update*- Mr_Goodbytes did a little more checking into this for us and here's what he found out: "Thank you for contacting us. There are no end dates on the product line at this time but there is no announced product for 2002. We will know more after February" Notice it says After February, the U.S. Toy Fair is in February. So, maybe they are waiting until they see how well the toys are recieved at Toy Fair. This means that we could possibly have more repaints, and new molds!!! This whole thing just keeps getting stranger and stranger. Mr_Goodbytes couldn't be more right, this is a very strange situation. Either way it looks like we may have a while to wait until we see any new JP toys.

CHAT TONIGHT!

Just a little site reminder before I let you go today. Remember that tonight is our weekly JPTC Chat and we want everyone to who can to participate! It should start around 9:30pm eastern time (8:30 central). Hope to see you there! We'll see ya back here on Monday with a new entry into our Dino Room section...have a great weekend everyone!

CAMOXTREME PICS AT ENTERTAINMENT EARTH

This is a bit of encouraging news to those of us that want the CamoXtreme line released. Entertainmentearth.com has updated their site with pictures of the new line and they still show a release date of February 2002. There are no new photos featured, only the same ones that Hasbro had on their website for a few weeks. I still don't think we'll see them anytime this month based on the email Mr_Goodbytes received from Hasbro however, it does seem to strengthen the arguement that they will be released eventually...we shall see! (Thanks to Alpha_Spino and Velocisaur for passing that along to us).

MORE COLLECTION PHOTOS!

Thanks to rexforever and our good ol' moderator Nick for sending in our latest collection photos. If you'd like to see them just click here or use the link to your left. I even drug out most of my collection and updated those pics for you to see. If you'd like to share your collection photos with everyone just send them to us at: jptoyscentral@yahoo.com. One more item today. Over the weekend I finally revealed my secret identity to everyone so if you'd like to see what ol' Dan & Missy (the better half) looks like then click here...don't say I didn't warn you though :-)

CAMOXTREME BACK AT HASBRO

How was everyone's weekend? I hope it went well. First up today, we wanted to let everyone know that Hasbro has added a couple of new CamoXtreme descriptions to their site. The new ones include the Tropical Raptor and the Volcanic Pteranodon. Here's a description for each, first the Raptor and then the Pteranodon: "Paradise is lost when the Tropical Raptor comes on the scene. There is no use running from this dangerous predator with its dino roar and powerful slashing action." "Flying amongst the destruction of the volcano, the Volcanic Pteradon searches for any dino willing to put up a fight. No dino can evade the swooping Volcanic Pteradon with its heart stopping dino roar and unforgiving biting action." They both show a retail price of $9.99 but the question is, where in the heck did the rest of those pics go to? We'll keep you up to date as more info. becomes available...stay tuned!

NEW POLL QUESTION

Before we get to the new poll question, lets go over the results from the last one...shall we? Our last poll posed the question, "Which CamoXtreme 2-pack are you most looking forward to?" We had exactly 100 votes and with %35 of the vote (the majority) most everyone is looking forward to all of them! Out of the packs listed, the Tropical Pteranodon/Compies 2-pack was the most anticipated with %25 of the final vote. Now on to the latest poll which I think will be interesting to see the results of. I got the idea from our message boards where one of our forum members "Ultra_T-Rex" asked the question, what do you think is the most movie accurate dinosaur? Well, I've taken some of the most popular responses to that thread and put them in a voting format. So which JP toy do you think is the most accurate to the movies? Go vote and let your opinions be heard!

JP3 DVD RELEASED IN THE UK!

Today's the big day for all you folks over in the UK as the JP3 DVD gets released. Thanks to AgenSmith2k for reminding us and he also wanted to let everyone know that he's found a pretty good deal for it on-line. Here's what he had to say: "JP3 is now due definitely for release tomorrow (Mon Feb 11th) on VHS and DVD, as various TV adverts have proved. For those of you who want a copy for less than the RRP, I've found www.play.com, which is selling it for £13.99 delivered (so you won't have to pay extra for p&p) on DVD." I hope everyone over there enjoys the JP3 DVD as much as I have...it's a real treat! Thanks again to AgentSmith2k for that report.

WAL-MART SALE...JP3 STYLE!

First up today, I have to mention my latest find. Now this may not be at everyone's local Wal-Mart yet so don't shoot the messanger! This weekend while at my local Wal-Mart, I checked out the JP3 isle (as I always do) and to my surprise, everything was on sale! But we're not talking a small sale here...we're talking about a major sale! Most everything was at least half off except for the Re-Ak Dinos. Here's a list of what they had and the sale prices: Re-Ak basics (Grant/Raptor) - $1.50, Re-Ak Dinos - $7.00, AT Dino Trapper - $5.00, Marine Copter - $5.00, Tracking Set - $5.00, Hatchlings - $2.50, Walking Raptor - $5.00, Animatronic Spino - $25.00, Board Game - $5.00 and the Dino Dex - $7.00. I'm guessing you get the point...this is an awesome sale! If your local Wal-Mart doesn't have these prices just yet, keep checking back because I have a feeling this is not just a local sale. Let us know if you find any great bargains out there....happy hunting!

NEW SECTION...SOON

Just wanted to let everyone that I've been working hard behind the scenes here at JPTC to get a new section up (hint: check the navigation bar) so that's why there hasn't been any updates lately. That and the fact that nothing much is going on! So anyway, I'm trying my best to get that new section up and running very soon, hopefully sometime early next week. I had originally planned on having it completed by today but you know how things go! BTW, don't forget that tonight is our weekly JPTC chat starting at 9pm eastern time (8pm central)...hope to see you there! That's it for today...have a great weekend everyone!

CAMOXTREME IS HERE!!

Wow...is this a shocker or what?! Thanks to our latest forum member "tetra-rex-flatop" for pointing out that the toy website Entertainmentearth.com has the CamoXtreme 2-packs in "hot off the truck". The set retails for $60.99 and includes the following: Ravage Dino 2-Pack Assortment, Wave 1. This all new assortment of 12 individually packaged 2-Packs includes: 3x Lava Tyrannosaurus Rex and Velociraptor, 3x Arctic Spinosaurus and Stegosaurus, 2x Swamp Spinosaurus and Tyrannosaurus Rex, and 4x Desert Spinosaurus and Velociraptor What a way to cap off the week...huh? If on-line stores are already receiving them then the retail stores can't be too far behind! We'll keep you updated as more information becomes available.

CAMOXTREME SPOTTED!!

This is a little quicker than I expected them to be spotted but apparently JPTC forum member "Carcharodontosaurus" has spotted some of the new CamoXtreme 2-packs at his local Shopko. Here's what he had to say: "I just got back from my local Shopko, I went to the toys section and the JP3 was moved to the back, and there were 3 Poseable Raptors, and 5 Alan Grant w/Raptors.....And on the bottom rack there were 3 Desert packs, 1 Lava pack ,and 2 Artic packs.....I got 1 of each and left......I has so shocked to find them.....there here you just have to check out your stores.....The cards in the packs are just 1 thin cardboard piece with a picture of the hatchlings, and on the back there is a disriction of the items in english spanish and some other language..... **Lava Card Info." "In the wake of a massive volcanic eruptions. these red-hot dinos evolved with flame colored camofladge to rule their lava covered domain." **Desert Card Info." "In the heat of the desert. these sand-dweling dinos are camofladged to conquer precious water resources-and defend themeselfs from enemies!" **Arctic Card Info." "In the snow blasted plains of the extreme north. these elite dinos use their glacial camofladge to hunt prey and attack artic adversaries He has plenty more to say about them on our message boards so make sure to check that out. A couple of site updates: I updated the JP review section today with a new review from Tyrannosaurus Rex of the JP Jungle Explorer (which is an awesome review!) and I'm almost ready to open up that collectors card section so be on the look-out for that very soon...stay tuned!

COLLECTOR CARDS SECTION UP!

First off, I have to thank my good friend Stephen (JPDino) for helping me get this new section up as quickly as I have. He provided most of the pictures and helped me finish way ahead of schedule...thanks bud! OK, I'm sure by now that most of you have seen/heard of the JP collector cards so this is nothing new but it was a section I thought we needed here at JPTC. It was really fun looking back at some of these old cards, some of which I hadn't seen in a very long time. Most of the artwork on them was just plain amazing! Very rich colors mixed with awesome dino action...they sure don't make 'em like they use to! Anyway, be sure to head on over there and check that out whenever you get a chance, I think you'll find it well worth your time. BTW, if you happen to have any of the cards I'm missing, except for the Die Cast (I should have the rest of those up by Monday) please send them to me and I'll make sure you get full credit for whatever you send in. Also, don't forget that tonight is our weekly JPTC chat starting at 9pm eastern time. Have a great weekend everyone!

A MUCH NEEDED VACATION!!

Well gang, in just a few hours I'll heading down to sunny Florida with my wife & family on a much needed vacation! We'll be visiting Disney World and the one I'm looking forward to the most...Islands of Adventure! I'll be sure to take plenty of pictures and post them when I get back. Anyway, I just wanted to give everyone a heads up and to let you know not to expect another update until at least the middle of next week at the earliest. In the meantime, don't forget that our weekly JPTC chat is still on for tomorrow night starting around 9pm eastern time or whenever everyone decides to show up :-) If you have any question/problems or both, please direct them to one of my moderators in the forum. BTW, I did receive my free JP Bonus disc earlier this week so as soon as I get back and get finished going through it (what I've watched so far has been awesome!), I'll be sure to post a mini-review of some sorts for everyone. So take care and have a great weekend eveyone!

AND THE WINNERS ARE...

A big thanks to everyone who particaipated in our first ever diorama contest! We had an overwhelming response with about 25 total entries (maybe more). Anyway, I think since this one went so well you can probably guarantee a second JPTC diorama contest in the very near future. O.K., now on to what everybody's been waiting for...the winners!

Movies Novel Fiction 1st - Ultra2k1 1st - Jurassic Joe 1st - Jurassic Joe 2nd - JPAction Man 2nd - Ultra2k1 2nd - Mr_Goodbytes 3rd - Jurassic Joe 3rd - rexforever 3rd - rexforever *Best Overall* - Ultra2k1 "The T-Rex Chase"

Congratulations to all the winners. Each winner will be receiving a siffy new logo that's having the finishing touches put on it as we speak. The last thing that I'll mention today is something very exciting! JPTC is now only 5 days away from our 1 year anniversiary and we have some very big surprises in store for you! What you may ask? Keep it here for more details because everything is being finalized as we speak and that process shouldn't take much longer. This is a very exciting time for us here at JPTC and we really think you're going to absolutely love what's in store...stay tuned!

CAMOXTREME CHAOS!

Boy, this whole line just continues it's downward sprial! First they're up, then they're gone...who know's what to beleive! This time they're gone again but it's the 2 packs according to Mr_Goodbytes: "Once again, Entertainment Earth has removed a CamoXtreme Item. This time, however, it is the hatchling 2 packs that have been removed. The Confusion Continues!!! Here is my theory.... I think that Entertainment Earth recieved them early, so they began selling them. However, the shelf date was pushed back to April just like the others, and Hasbro has told them not to sell any more. In any case, they are gone. Let's just hope they bring them back." Who knows what's going on but you can make sure that we'll continue to keep you up to date on whatever happens with this mysterious line! A little site update for ya, it seems that our plans for the big JPTC anniversiary hit a bit of a snag (to no fault of our own but that's another story). Anway, things seem to be back on track for now so we just ask for your patience while we get things back in order. We think you'll find the wait well worth it! Have a great weekend!

JP ANNIVERSIARY REPAINTS COMING!

Wow, did this ever take me by surprise! After many months of petitions it looks like Kenner & Hasbro have finally decided to listen to the consumers! From what I know, the line is already in production and should be out sometime later this fall. The line will carry all of our old favorites including the Carnotaurs & Gallimimus...click here for more details! (April fools! ;-) )

JPTC PASSES 100,000 HITS!

Not to toot our own horn here too much but to be honest, this is something that we're just dang proud of! I noticed it last night (we're actually at 100,635 as I type this) and went back through the numbers and figured out that we passed it either late night on April 1st or just in time for our 1 year anniversiary on April 2nd....pretty neat huh? Anyway, that's about all I had for ya today but be assured that we're still hard at work behind the scenes on our big project! Have a great weekend everyone!

CAMOXTREME...HOT OFF THE TRUCK!

Old "eagle eyes" himself, Mr_Goodbytes points out that entertainmentearth.com now has the JP3 Deluxe Biting Dino Asst. 4 listed as "Hot Off The Truck". The pre-order demand must have been pretty high though because they're also listed as Out Of Stock - Arriving soon. The total price for the assortment is listed as $77.99 and includes the following: Jurassic Park 3 `Re-ak A-tak` Sound Deluxe Electronic Dinosaur Action Figure Assortment 4. Re-Ak is the `Dino Roar` sound each dinosaur makes when it is being attacked. `A-tak` is a sound each dinosaur makes when it is on the offensive. Each dinosaur roars at the push of a button. Includes: 2x Jungle Spinosaurus with biting action, 1x Night Velociraptor with slashing action, and 3x Arctic T-Rex with biting action.

PRE-ORDER QUESTIONS

Mr_Goodbytes continues his quest to get to the bottom of all this CamoXtreme chaos! This time he kindly emailed the folks over at entertainmentearth.com to see just how they plan on filling all those pre-orders that are now listed as "Out Of Stock-Arriving Soon". This was their response: Unfortunately, the manufacturer has not provided us with a date we can expect to receive this item, but we are expecting it back in stock soon. We will have pictures of it on our website soon. We fully intend to fill all pre-orders as soon as we are able. Thank you for your patience. Customer Service Entertainment Earth Pretty nice guys huh? Keep it here for all the latest details as we'll pass them along to you as more becomes available. A couple of site updates before I let you go today - first, I finally got around to updating the pictures of my JP collection (most of it) which now includes a shot of my most recent acquisition, the JP series 2 Carnotaurus! We also have a new member in the JPTC diorama family (I know...cheesy ;-). His name is raptorhunter56 and his first entry is a good one! So make sure to check that out and have a great weekend everybody!

CANYON REX CANCELLED!

How about a rare weekend update? It looks like more bad news for CamoXtreme fans as it appears that Hasbro has officially scrapped any plans they had for a Canyon T-Rex. Here was a response sent to Mr_Goodbytes from entertainmentearth.com: "Unfortunately, we were recently informed by Hasbro that this item has been officially cancelled. However, as with any cancellation, Hasbro can reverse their decision. If we are able to obtain this product, it will, again, be posted on our web site." So maybe all is not lost but this is certainly not looking good for Camo fans. It's a shame because that was one of the ones that I and a lot of other people were really looking forward to owning. Oh well, we shall see...stay tuned!

NEW CAMOXTREME PICTURES!

Wow, what a busy weekend this has turned out to be! Our good friends over at entertainmentearth.com have recently updated their site with 3 new CamoXtreme pics! The new pictures include the Jungle Spinosaurus, Arctic T-Rex and the Night Velociraptor. Personally, I was a little disappointed with the Night Raptor but I think the Jungle Spinosaurus and Arctic Rex just plain rock! Click here for the pics. (Thanks to Mr_Goodbytes for the heads up...who else ;-) .

CAMOXTREME BACK IN STOCK!

Mr. Goodbytes once again points out that entertainmentearth.com now has the JP3 Deluxe Biting Dino Asst. listed as "In Stock". So take that for what it's worth and get those orders in!

In totally unrelated news, one of the first reviews of Star Wars Episode II is in from Ron Epstein the owner of the Home Theater Forum. It's a great review and definitely worth checking out if you're a fan...have a great weekend!

JUST A LITTLE PEEK

As some of you may have heard, we've had a little project in the works for sometime now. For those that haven't heard and are wondering just what in the heck I'm talking about...just click here. We also have a newly redesigned forum that should give you a hint of things to come. ;-) There's still some work left to do so make sure to keep it tuned here and we'll make sure to keep ya updated.

TWO NEW REVIEWS

Thanks to Tyrant for dropping off our latest batch of reviews. We get a review of his newly accquired Gallimimus, which he will now hand over to me for posting this review. ;-) We also get a look at Mr. Dino Tracker himself, Sgt. T-Rex Turner. He was even kind enough to take pictures of both so make sure to check those out and a little FYI, make sure to keep it close in the coming days... hint, hint ;-) .

JP TOYS IS BORN!

Most of you may know us as "JPTC" and for those that don't...welcome aboard! As you can see, we have a snazzy new layout thanks to my partner in crime Armothe (who I can never thank enough!). I know we’ve been promising that “it’s coming†for some time now but to make a long story short...we ran into a few snags along the way ;-). But that’s all behind us now and I think you’ll find that it was well worth the wait! You’ll probably notice that most of the content is from our old geocities site. Well, this is just temporary until we get the next phase of our project underway. We have some big upgrade plans in store including a new & complete toy archive, a merchandise store as well as a bootleg & custom toys section.

All we ask for right now is your patience as we try to gather up our resources, take a deep breath and get phase 2 rolling. In the meantime, feel free to look around and get familiar with things and don’t forget to cast your vote in our latest poll question on what you think of the new layout. So stay tuned and have a great weekend!

LINKS SECTION UPDATED

Thanks to those out there that have submitted your links to us over the last few weeks. I was finally able to get those up today. We're sorry it took so long to get them up but as you can see, we've been quite busy around here lately ;-) Speaking of that, I've received numerous emails and questions on our forums lately wanting to know just when will our new sections be up? Well, I can't give you a definte answer on that except to tell you that we hope to have them up in the not too distant future. Everything takes time and this is a huge undertaking we have planned here. Some of us have jobs & families that must come first, so all we ask for is your patience...thanks!

BTW, I had an opportunity to see Star Wars Episode II this past Thursday and I must say that I really enjoyed it! It ranks right behind A New Hope & The Empire Strikes Back IMHO. So make sure to check it out if you haven't already, I don't think you'll be dissapointed!

JP3 BOOTLEG PICS

Thanks to forum member "Jurassic Joe", here's your first chance to see an up close look of those JP3 miniature Re-ak A-tak bootlegs that were spotted on ebay not too long ago:

Something interesting to note here is that Joe found them in a retail store. According to him, they came in little plastic bags and the description on the back read: "Terrifying dinosaurs hunt people named Alan Brant, Bobby Breenan, and Erin Kirly! Collect them all!" He also went on to say they had a Spino, T-Rex and a Dilo but the quality wasn't as great on them. It definitely looks like someone is trying to make a cheap buck but the quailty on these two guys isn't half bad...I'd buy 'em!

SIDESHOW IN '08!

Well it looks as if that dry spell that I mentioned a week ago has finally ended. Almost 6 months ago (see 7/16 update), Sideshow Collectibles ran a poll to gauge fan interest in what movie franchise they should announce next. Despite Jurassic Park winning the poll in a landslide, Conan The Barbarian got the nod instead. Well good things come to those who wait...right? It definitely seems so in this case:

http://www.sideshowtoy.com/behindtheshow/?page_id=4137

What a way to kick off 2008! No word yet on any release dates/prices so be sure to stay tuned to this space for all the latest. One thing is for sure though, Sideshow is well known for detail in their movie lines but that accuracy often comes with a hefty price tag at times so start saving up now! A big thanks to Tyrannosaurus Matt from JPLegacy for the heads-up.

NEW REVIEWS ADDED

Our review section here at JPT hasn't had an update in quite some time but that dry spell is now over thanks to forum regular Roselaar. He recently submitted close to 40 new TLW & JP3 reviews! Let me tell ya folks, these are some of the most detailed and articulate reviews to ever grace our review section. I highly recommend that you take some time to check them out...you won't be disappointed.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I apologize for the lack of updates lately but this is about as dry as it's been in a long time. JP4 can't some soon enough! However, I did want to take the time to wish you and yours a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. Thanks again for another wonderful year here at JPT...you guys are the best! Also, it just wouldn't be Christmas without passing along something, so here's a new diorama gallery from forum vet JPdude.

JP LUNCHASAURUS

We've seen JP Dino Dogs & Nuggets so far so why not JP LunchAsaurus? Semms like the next logical step...right? Well forum member 'Spinosaur122' came across these (well actually his girlfriend did...heh) at a local Wal-Mart for about $2 a piece. You can choose from Jurassic (Ham & American), Raptor (Nachos) and T-Rex (Turkey & American). Each package back contains word games as well as fun dino facts (Spino, Raptor and T-Rex). That not enough for ya? Well each LunchAsaurus also includes this water pack pack to wash things down with. That's a good call based on the taste of the dogs & nuggets.

*Update - 7/3* - Forum member 'garrettjdg' came across yet another LunchAsaurus, Prehistoric Pizza. Here's a shot of the back as well.

Also today, I want to take the time to wish those of you in the States a very happy & SAFE 4th of July celebration. I hope that you keep our men & women overseas that are in harms way in your thoughts and prayers.

TLW REMOTE RAPTOR?

Wow, two days in a row with an update...how 'bout that?! Definitely a rarity these days. Anyways, on to the news. Forum member 'alpharex came' across this thread over on the reblescum forums that features member 'Washu' holding what he says to be a prototype for a remote controlled raptor that of course never made it to the production phase. Here's what he had to say:

"This is a original sculpt for the Jurassic Park line. I have the other parts in the box and did not want to bring them all out in case one falls. The wax only ways a measly 27 pounds. I forgot, but it should measure about 3 1/2 feet long with tail. The toy was devolped for Lost World (?) and to be a remote control Raptor. This toy was never produced and never reached hardcopy stage. Rather unknown prototype... and the biggest of them all."

If true, it's amazing the amount of these previously "unknown" protos that have been popping up lately. If nothing else, at least it passes the time and gives us something else to discuss.

VINTAGE JP AD

Without a movie to generate news, it seems that we have to revert back to good ol' nostalgia these days...nothing wrong with that right? Anyway, forum member '0thebigwytec5' came across this 1994 JP toy ad on the back of a Universal Studios coupon and was kind enough to pass it along to us.

MCFARLANE INTERESTED IN JP?

For years we've wondered if Todd McFarlane (Aliens, Sportspicks, Dragons) had any interest in producing a JP themed line or perhaps a generic dino line in general. Well both of those questions were posed to Todd on his "Toddcast". The first by our very own 'Thorondor 33'. Here's what he had to say:

- I heard rumours of a Monsters of Universal series. If this is true, what are the chances of seeing Jurassic Park figures? Thanks!

"Rumors from who, Joe? I don't even trust that guy. As for Jurassic Park figures, Hasbro has the master license locked down, but we're looking into different angles on this one."

- Would you ever consider making a dinosuar line? After seeing the brilliant work achieved on the dragons I would love to see a dinosaur line done in the same scale etc. I know there's alot of fellow boardies who like the idea of a dinosaur line too.

"My son Jake loves dinosaurs so I've got that idea being suggested several times each week in my own house! I have tried to incorporate some of the dinosaur traits and looks in our Dragons line."

So there's the scoop from THE man himself as only JPtoys.com can bring you. We still don't have anything concrete but it's nice to hear that they (McFarlane) are exploring "other angles". As always, stay tuned to this space for further updates. Finally today, I wanted to mention that we're celebrating our 6th anniversiary here at JPT this month. Time just continues to fly on by...thanks for coming along for the ride!

OFFICIAL JP NUGGETS??

No, not the news kind. Yes, real eatable chicken nuggets straight from the park...err...freezer section of Wal-Mart. Forum moderator Kevin came across these delectable dino delights and was kind enough to snap a couple of pics for us. You can view them here and here. Now, is anybody ready to take one for the team and actually taste these genetically altered/processed chicken nuggets? Or is it chicken? We'll let you be the judge. ;-) Be sure to drop us a line if you come across any and let us know how they taste.

JP MERCHANDISE VIDEO

Check out this "old school" clip found by forum member 'musichead' on the popular video sharing site youtube. Clocking in at almost 6 minutes, it appears to be a marketing/promo reel for all of the then upcoming JP merchandise. Included are some really cool clips of some of those Kenner commercials we all so fondly remember. Ahh...the nostalgia!

JPD3 SECTION UPDATED

It was recently brought to my attention that we somehow overlooked updating the JP Dinosaurs section with last years 3rd wave/series. Well I'm glad to say that it is now updated for your viewing pleasure. Better late than never...right?

Also today, I wanted to jump off the beaten path for a minute to address a very serious problem that effects many people all over the world - diabetes. One of our forum members Chris has a 6 year old son Christopher that is a rabid Dinosaur fan, JP toy collector and a regular visitor here at JPToys.com. However, that may be where his simalarities with most of you end. Christopher has been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes since he was 4 years old. He must have his glucose levels checked and managed several times daily through an insulin pump (yet some kids still require multiple injections of insulin). As you could imagine not only is this quite the chore for the parents but just think of the afflicted in this case. Christopher seemingly takes it all in stride and seems to have adjusted to his affliction quite well according to his Dad but you know it has to be tough on him.

This is why Chris is dedicated to help find a cure for this disease and would like your help. Christopher will be participating in his 3rd "Walk To Cure Diabetes" on October 15th in Pennsauken, NJ. If you can't make the walk, you may make a donation on behalf of Christopher at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Also, be sure to check out Christopher's website (run by his Dad) for all the latest news and any other FAQ you may have about diabetes. It's not often that we get a chance to participate in something larger than ourselves so make sure to check out those links and help out if you can. Every little bit helps!

NEW JPTOYS CHECKLIST SECTION!

First off, I apologize for the lack of updates lately but that just how things are in the world of JP toys lately...ya know? Well to pay back some of the patience on your part, we have a brand spankin' new section to pass along - an official JP Toys checklist. This has been one of our most requested sections for quite some time now so we certainly hope you find it a valuable resource here at JPtoys.com. A big thanks to staffer Raptoralpha for all the assistance. As always, feel free to contact us if you find any errors or would like to suggest any additions.

JPS2 SCUTO SURFACES...AGAIN?

If you remember way back to February of 2003 we had our first ebay sighting of the unreleased JPS2 Scutosaurus & Ornithosuchus. Well it appears that Scutosaurus at least has popped up online again but this time on the Chinese site Taobao (think ebay). It's very interesting to see these rare items showing up from time to time on ebay and various other sites such as this. It really makes you wonder just what other JP gems are out there waiting to be discovered. A big thanks to forum member 'Piltdown Chickenraptors' for the heads up.

JP DINOSAURS 2005

Nothing earth shattering to pass along here but probably woth mentioning nonetheless. It seems that last year's new line of JP Dinosaurs are starting to pop up at KB Toy stores again. It looks like a last ditch effort on their part to clear out some back inventory as most everything has been heavily reduced. Just last weekend I had family from Florida call to ask me if I needed any because their local KB Outlet was stocked to the max with of course the discounted prices. Site Co-Owner Armothe just recently found them as well. Here's his report:

"I know its halfway into 2006 but the most recent 2005 JP Deluxe Dinos started popping up at KBToys and KB Toy Works/Outlets.

The list includes:

T-Rex w/ micro Triceratops
Velociraptor w/ Micro Pteranodon
Triceratops w/ Micro Raptor

Last Christmas the smaller 2005 ravage packs showed up in the same place - some are still hanging around. I haven't seen the Ultras in the store yet."

Anyway we just wanted to pass that along for those of you that might not have picked up some of the items from last year. Now is probably your last chance to find them in stores...especially at these prices. This public service announcement was brought to you by your friendly staff at JPToys.com. ;-)

HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY JPTOYS!

I'm soooo far behind on this years anniversiary update but better late than never...right? Anyway, it doesn't seem like that long ago that I was just a regular poster over at InGenNet (hello vets!) asking people to check out my new site which was then known as JP Toys Central...or JPTC for short. Things were moving along pretty slowly until we got our first big exclusive which was shots of the "Wave 2" JP3 Alan Grant w/compies. As the requests for the pictures started to flow in, I thought we might be on to something. A few hours and over 700 hits later I KNEW we were. About a year later (with the help of co-owner Armothe) we were able to move to our own dot com address and a snazzy new layout. Here we sit 5 years later having outlasted all the competition and we somehow keep chugging along. All of that is a testament to not only our wonderful staff here but to you the viewers/readers out there. For that we truly and humbly thank you!

NEW DIORAMAS & AFFILIATE

Long time no update! I do aplogize for the lack of updates lately but when there's nothing to update, there's just nothing to update...know what I mean? The lull in JP4 has definitely not helped matters either. Anyway I hope you all had a nice Thansgiving weekend here in the States with Christmas right around the corner. Now, on to the updates. Our latest set of dioramas come from 'danny'. Be sure to check out his gallery when you get a chance. Also today, we have a new affiliate in "JP Legacy" which is an all-around good site with a wealth of info. regarding the JP film franchise. You can visit JP Legacy site by clicking on the logo in our affiliates box to your left - just below the poll.

NEW DOWNLOADS & DIORAMAS

We told you there would be more, now didn't we? The latest addition to our new Downloads section here at JPToys is the actual decal/sticker sheets from some of your favorite JP vehicles & playsets! Some of the scans include the Jungle Explorer, Capture Cruiser and the Dino-Damage Medical Center. Just follow the simple instructions provided and you'll be printing & cutting in no time! There's plenty more to see so be sure to visit the Downloads section today...just make sure you have enough ink for the printer. ;-)

Also today we have four brand new dioramas from "TrikeAttack" up for your viewing pleasure in the Diorama section...enjoy! (Update - 9/6) Added new dioramas from AcroIguana - check 'em out!

9/11 - ONE YEAR LATER...

Could it be possible that one year has already passed since the attacks on our country and freedom itself on 9/11? Doesn't seem possible, does it? It seems like only yesterday that I was huddled around my television, switching back & forth between channels in disbelief, as I'm sure most of you were. Could something like this really happen to us? And by us, I mean the entire free world. It wasn't just Americans that were attacked that day, there were people on those planes and in Twin Towers from all over the world. Freedom was attacked, not just Americans.

On behalf of the entire JPToys.com staff, our thoughts and prayers go out to those that were affected by the tragic events that day. May God bless you and this great country of ours.

NEW POLL

We had over 180 votes in our last poll and with 46% of the vote, the Mobile Command Center was the winner as your favorite TLW vehicle. So as we continue on in our quest to crown the ultimate JP vehicle, this time we want to know what your favorite JP3 vehicle is...vote today!

SITE BITES

First off, I apologize for the lack of updates lately but as you can guess, we're working hard behind the scenes to get those new site features online, not to mention there's nothing newsworthy happening anymore. More on that in a minute. I don't have anything major to get to today so I've just combined a few items into one little update.

- "JP Action Man" just sent in his latest diorama which is now up for your viewing pleasure in our hosted dioramas section.

- Do you have an interest in custom JP LEGO figures? If so, head on over to our good friend "CloneTroop15" site, FMDesigns. He just unveiled 3 new customs from JP: Ian Malcom, Dr. Henry Wu, JP Worker #1 and Dieter Stark from TLW. He also features customs from "Area 51" and "Ghostbusters". All of the ordering /purchasing details can be found on the site...check it out!

- The last thing I'll mention is our progress on the new sections. Expect to see our first roll out of the new toy archives very soon. I believe we're starting off with the JP3 Hybrids section just to give you a small taste of the big things to come...stay tuned! Also remember we're trying to crown your favorite JP vehicle so make sure to vote in our latest poll question if you haven't done so already!

SAM NEIL SAYS JP4 A GO

Thanks to member TrikeAttack for letting us know that Sam Neil (Alan Grant) appeared on "The New Zealend Listener. Neil offered us some juicy tidbits about the status of Jurassic Park 4, which seem to prove once and for all this this movie is going to happen. Here's the transcript:

Q: The role you're most internationally recognised for is probably Alan Grant from Jurassic Park. Any truth to the reports there will be yet another sequel? Are you involved?

SN: Oh, well I could...Actually, I'm...(laughs). I'm not sure what I'm allowed to say in regard to this. Yes, another Jurassic Park is in the developmental stages at the moment. I think I can say that without being arrested, or eaten by one of those scary dinosaurs (laughs). As for my involvement, it's a possibility. I certainly had a ripper of a time doing the previous two, so I have no objection in that respect. Steven (Spielberg) has spoken with me briefly about the new story they are working on, which is remarkably inventive and intriguing, by the way.

Q: Any plot teasers you would care to share with New Zealand first?

SN: (laughs heartily) You really DO want to get me arrested, don't you? No, I'm very sorry, no juicy secrets from me. Steven has indicated I may have some part in the film, but I'll leave it at that. From what I know, it's pretty early goings. As always, I'll wait for the finished script, and just see how my schedule shapes up.

JACK HORNER ON JP TRILOGY

It seems that Malcolm of JP Database managed to get a short interview with Jack Horner, the well known paleontologist who acted as a consultant on all three Jurassic Park movies. Personally, I think that Horner's career has gone downhill ever since his involvement with the films, but I guess a news reporter isn't allowed to give his opinion. At any rate, here's the scoop:

Q: How much of a difference was it working with Joe Johnston in JP3, than Steven Spielberg in the other films?

A: I like both of the directors a lot. But Joe Johnston is very interested in paleontology and has come out to the field every summer for the last three years. So he and I have become very good friends. Steven, is a good guy, but I don't know him personally as well as Joe.

Q: What species are the 'compys' in The Lost World and Jurassic Park 3 based off? Do you think it was really possible for the compys to have been pack hunters?

A:Compsognathus, and no, I don't think its likely they were pack-hunters.

Q: Were there any dinosaur characteristics that you did not like or had a problem with in the JP trilogy but were still used because Spielberg/Johnston wanted them?

A: T-rex runs too fast, and none of the dinos are colorful enough.

Q: In the making of JP you seemed rather upset with the idea of the raptor sticking out their tongues like snakes because it portrayed them more like reptiles than birds...were you as upset with the Dilophosaurus having a neck frill like an existing reptile today?

A: No, there is no evidence suggesting that it didn't have a frill. That is fictional license, but we know that dinosaurs didn't have forked tongues.

Q: How long have you believed that Tyrannosaurus was a scavenger? Did you ever try to influence them to show any of the dinosaurs scavenging in Jurassic Park and/or The Lost World?

A: For about 10 years. Yes, and T-rex is portrayed as a scavenger in JP3.

It sounds like Jack wasn't all that thrilled about this interview. Perhaps its because few people take him seriously anymore after his involvement with the films.

MORE JP4 CRAP

An interesting interview with Sam Neil has been posted at www.darkhorizons.com pertaining to the forth Jurassic Park film. Says thus:

"Yeah, Steven Spielberg and his people are quite busy prepping another one. There is a chance you'll see me in it. I'm as surprised as anyone, because I didn't think there was any way they could get Alan Grant involved again. But they came up with a clever idea. Steven just blew me away with the story....something frightening is happening concerning those dinosaurs that doesn't necessarily bode well for us humans. Scientists never seem to learn". What sort of tone can we expect? "You know that feeling when you first saw the original film, and you were so in awe, and felt so swept away and mesmerised by the sheer majesty of it all? I believe this premise has the potential to elicit that same kind of response. Out of all the concepts that've been created for these movies, this is possibly my favorite".

This sounds like what we all want and I've got my fingers crossed for the validity of this information. Big thanks to Oviraptor for pointing this article out.

JP4 BABY!!

It's the news we've all been waiting to hear, it looks like JP4 has a writer and is ready to roll! Thanks to Mr. Goodbytes for pointing us to this article on Variety.com:

"Universal Pictures is moving forward with a fourth installment of "Jurassic Park" to be penned by William Monahan. Kathleen Kennedy will again produce."

Click here for the entire article. Now, if they would just go ahead and give us a release on the new toys. I know, probably a little too early, one can hope though...right? ;-) In site news, make sure to keep it tuned here to JPToys as we are a matter of mere days away from releasing our first section of brand new toy archives. Trust me, you don't want to miss it! *UPDATE* - The first release comes a little earlier than expected... how does tomorrow morning sound?!

MAJOR DATABASE OVERHAUL

As you may or may not have noticed lately, we've recently undertaken the task of updating some of our older toy database shots as well as adding hundreds of new ones. The update was LONG overdue but better late than never...right? We'll continue to add shots in the coming weeks but the massive first push is over with, just a few things here and there left. I also have to thank our good friend Marten (better known as 'Gallimimus' on the forum) for helping provide many of the new shots you see. He has been quite genrous with his time and for that, I will always be grateful! Other than that today, we have a new collection gallery up from 'Triceratops123' and it's in flash!

TOY ARCHIVES - RELEASE #2

Just a mere 11 days from our first release, we are proud to bring you our latest completed toy archives section - Jurassic Park Junior...enjoy!

GOBBLE GOBBLE!

From everyone here at JPToys, we want to wish you all a happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday! Oh yeah, I almost forgot - Go Noles...beat those sorry ol' Gators! >>----,>

2001 TOY FAIR ARCHIVES

Well, it's been over a year since those first wonderful images of the new JP3 toys at the 2001 Toy Fair graced our computer monitors...doesn't seem like that long ago does it? Well it has been, so how about a little trip down memory lane? The JPToys staff thought it would be fun to collect some of those photos for archives sake. So without further delay, we present to you the 2001 New York Toy Fair archive. Have a great weekend everyone!

CAMOXTREME PIC UPDATE

Hi gang, just a quick update on our last exclusive (see below story) regarding the Volcanic Pteranodon & Tropical Raptor. I recieved a reply from the sender stating that he was not the owner of the Desert Spinosaurus and had in fact just simply emailed the eBay seller during the auction and asked for a picture of the back of the box. They were kind enough to hold on to it all this time and decided to send it to us after noticing our recent CamoXtreme Databse release. Unfortunately this means no up close or better shots of these two new gems...at least for now.

As you may have noticed, we have a new poll question up today. So be sure to let us know which CamoXtreme gem you would most like to own. It should be very intersting to see the results! Also today, TheKev316 was kind enough to review the JP3 Military General & T-Rex for us which is now up for your viewing pleasure.

JP SPOOF

Anyone looking for a good laugh today? While cruising the usual sites this morning, I noticed that Dan's JP3 page posted a link to what has to be the best JP spoof ever created - "Jurassic People" I decided to give it a look and I'm glad I did! Directed by Jamie Hobert, the spoof is centered around several people that stumble upon the lost Nedry Barbasol can and decide to to down the embryos like shots of vodka. The 20 mintue short is very well done and is much higher production value than most other JP spoofs/shorts. It includes the original JP soundtrack and sound effects which are added in flawlessly. So check it out when you get a chance...you won't be disappointed!

JPTOYS TURNS 2!

With so much going on in our lives and the world in general these days, it's amazing how quickly time can fly. It just dawned on me that today is our 2nd anniversary! We really have nothing special to pass along in celebration but I would like to mention a new project in the works (very early stages) that will make our exclusive Price Guide look small in comparison...trust me. Other than that, we continue to ask for your patience as other sections come online. They will all be up soon but you can't rush quality and I don't think there's any arguing about the high quality of pictures we try to provide you guys with in our various sections. Just please bare with us. In closing, we want to thank everyone so much for the support and encouragement you continue to provide us on a daily basis. You truly are what keeps us ticking!

JURASSIC PEOPLE DVD & NEW CUSTOMS!

How was everyone's weekend? Hope all was well. We've got quite a bit to get to today so let's get started. First up is my review of the Jurassic People DVD. For those of you that still may not have seen Jurassic People yet (shame on you!), please visit their site to view the 20 mintue spoof and for details on how to obtain your copy. Speaking of reviews, forum member dinoexecutive has submitted a total of 8 new ones that our now up in our review section for your viewing pleasure. The last thing I'll mention today is the latest additions to our Customs section from Raptoralpha which includes Alan Grant & Tim Murphy. We also have a new custom gallery from BubbleGum-Chan today as well. So make sure to check out all of those items when you get a chance...enjoy!

JP INSTITUTE TOYS!

We've got some very interesting news to pass along to you today from forum user 'Frost' over on the Jurassic Island Forums: "Recenty I visited a Italian Resturant named Fazoli's. While going through the Drive In Pick up Line, I couldn't believe my Eyes when I seen a poster of Four Jurassic Park Dinosaurs. The resturant is giving out four different types of dinosaurs Skeletions that you put together, Tyrannosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Triceratops, Pteranodon. They come in a middle sized package with the JP:I symbol on the center, and you can carry the bones in a large egg with JP symbol printed on that. Each toy comes with a trading card with information on that dinosaur. I will soon be able to scan a information picture of the toys, (I'm saving up to buy extra where I can open some)." Here are scans of the toy package and the collector card that comes with each toy. A big thanks to 'Sk8er' and 'Frost' for sending them along. We'll be sure to post more scans as we get them...enjoy!

TEMPORARY ARCHIVES UP

Just a little FYI for everyone, we've now updated the toy archives for the JP, TLW and JP3 sections (the JPD section should be completed soon). Please keep in mind that these are only temporary fixes as we work behind the scenes to complete the "real deals". However, just to spice things up a bit, we've included many of the toy sounds for your listening pleasure! (thanks JPDino) If you have any pictures that you'd like to submit, please send them to webmaster@jptoys.com.

Also today, we have a new diorama gallery up from 'Night' which includes a CE Thrasher Rex...don't see him often do ya? Finally, we couldn't leave without mentioning that today marks the 10th anniversiary of JP for all of our friends over in the UK...celebrate good times come on! :)

JPTOYS FORUM - AD FREE STYLE!

Well the votes are in and with over 1,000 in favor of pop-up ad removal, Proboards owner Patrick Clinger had decided to make true on his promise. Here's what he had to say:

"On September 1st, 2003, ProBoards will become officially popup free. The only advertisements on your board will be the banner ad at the top, and the links at the bottom. We are going to see how things go with a popup-free ProBoards. I can not guarantee that there will never, ever again be popups on ProBoards, but honestly I would like to keep it that way."

Of course all of us here are very excited about the announcement to say the least. A big thanks to everyone that voted - you guys definitely made a difference! In other news today, we have a new diorama gallery from Rick Raptor and dilo33 has updated his gallery with four new additions. We also have a new addition to Armothe's custom gallery of the InGen helicopter. The attention to detail is truly amazing...check it out!

ADIOS POP-UPS!

As of yesterday, the JPToys forum officially went pop-up free! We of course all hope this is a permanent fix but the Proboards staff does want to remind everyone that they can't promise we'll never see pop-ups again in the future. So keep your fingers crossed!

In other site news, we have two additions to our new collections section from Rick Raptor and DinosaurNeill. Also today we have four new reviews from Takutanuva of TLW Peter Ludlow, Roland Tembo, trike hatchling and the JPS2 Ian Malcom. Rick Raptor checks in with his thoughts on the JPS1 Velociraptor and the JP3 animatronic Spinosaurus and Carnotaurs has a take on the JP3 Stalking raptor. While in the review section, you may notice that we've done some much needed re-organization. We hope this makes finding your favorite review a little less tedious. Thanks to everyone for those great submissions...enjoy!

TOY ARCHIVES UPDATE

We've been quite busy behind the scenes lately updating our unfinished toy archives from the JP, TLW, JP3 & JPD sections with TONS of new pictures. Forum moderators AcroIguana & Raptoralpha have even joined in the cause by submitting all kinds of wonderful new pictures including the ever popular diorama shots! Many of the new pictures have already been uploaded to the various sections throughout the database so make sure to check them out when you get a chance. Plenty more photos are on their way so stay tuned!

We also have several other site updates to pass along today. First up, Raptoralpha has submitted two new customs as well as his collection photos for our new collections section. We also have a new poll up for your voting pleasure and a very in-depth review of the JPS1 Junior T-Rex from David...enjoy!

NEW BOOTLEGS & CUSTOMS ADDED

We received a very interesting (hideous) picture from "Josh" recently of a bootleg set from the "Scientific Wonders" line. The set includes a mixture of JP3 humans, small dinos and 3-4 miscellaneous weapons. This particular set includes an Eric Kirby repaint, Amanda Kirby Spino (somewhat repainted) and an Alan Grant 2 pack raptor. Other sets were made so please drop us a line if you happen to spot any. Also today, we have a new custom gallery from Joe that includes three very nice customs, two of which come from the resaurus line...enjoy!

JP3 SALE

Everyone likes a good sale...right? Well we have a good one to pass along to you today. Several forum members have been spotting JP3 toys at drastically reduced prices lately. One member in particular, "spinokiller" reports that his local KB toy store has dinos from the Re-Ak Attack line marked down to only $2.99 and the Ultra/Canyon T-Rex going for as low as $6.99! Many people are also reporting an increase in stock (left-overs more than likely) to coincide with the sale. This is the perfect opportunity for you customizers and diorama experts out there to grab a few extras.

NEW CUSTOMS & COLLECTIONS

So, how did everyone's weekend go? Hope all was well. We have a few site updates to pass along today so lets get started. First up, we have 2 new entries to our ever growing collections section from ViperRider and Raptoryx. Also today, Joe drops in with 3 new customs featuring an Albino Raptor, Iguana Raptor & a TLW Chasmosaurus repaint. And finally today, we have a new poll up for your voting pleasure...enjoy!

AOL FORUM ISSUES

It's come to our attention lately that quite a few (if not all) AOL users are getting a message stating they've been banned when trying to log onto our forum. Rest assured this is not the case. We have a 3 strike rule at our forum so you should definitely know if you've been legitimately banned or not. Fortunately for those that are getting the message, we have found a way around it...for now. We've been asking those that are still receiving the banned message to try using another internet browser such as Internet Explorer. This seems to be working for everyone so far. We're not sure who's to blame here (AOL or Proboards) but at least those of you getting the message will still have a way to log in until we find out exactly what's causing this. We appreciate your patience.

In other site news, we have a new collection gallery from Joe and a new review of the JP3 Raptor Attack Playset which are now both up for your viewing pleasure.

NEW JPD3 PICS!

In another JPtoys.com exclusive, we are proud to give you your first look at the 2 new JPD3 repaints courtesy of forum member "JPobsessed"...enjoy!

JPobsessed mentioned that each deluxe figure was $14.97. Based on the back of the box, it looks like we'll have much more to collect in the coming weeks/months. For sure we see 3 new regular dinos - T-Rex w/micro Triceratops, Velociraptor w/micro Pteranodon and a Triceratops w/micro velociraptor. We also see at least 3 new 2-packs, with a 4th listed (Pteranodon & Compy) but not shown. We'll be sure to bring you more details as they become available so stay tuned here to JPtoys.com for all the latest!

NEW JPD3!

There's been some discussion on our forum recently about 2 possible new JPD2 repaints. Forum member "yankeetrex" came across them at his local KB store and had this to say:

"I was at the Freehold Raceway mall today for the sports card collectible show, i stopped off in KB toys and to my surprise there were 2 new repaints of JP Dino's. One was the JP3 Deluxe Rex in black with red stripes, and the other was the Alpha Pteradon(Sorry for spelling) in a greenish color and the beak was a semi baby blue color."

Unable to take any pictures to this point, forum moderator Stitch contacted that same KB store for more details:

"KB Toys: "Thanks for calling KBs where you can save half off on all orange sticker items, can I help you?"

Stitch: "Yes, do you have any Jurassic Park toys?"

KB Toys: "Uhm, I believe we do. Yes, we have quite a few."

Stitch: "Ok, do you have a black dinosaur with red striping patterns?"

KB Toys: "Well, there's alot, like 12 different kinds. So if you wanna come in and take a look."

Stitch: "Well, I'm in Seattle."

KB Toys: "Oh... Ok, hold on a second, I'll check for you." *leaves for a bit longer then the last person I spoke with* *returns* KB Toys: "Yes, we have a black Tyrannosaur with Red stripes. It looks like he has a cut in his side where he got bit or something. And then we have the flying one. Pteranodon. It's in like two shades of green with a blue head. They're both $14.99 and they make noise." *hears distinct Alpha Ptera screeching over phone*

He went on to explain they came in about 2 weeks ago. He was given the sku number from the packages- 850396
So, these are indeed the real thing. He was told there were pictures on the back of the package of other dinosaurs in the line, but I don't know if they're new ones or the same JPD2 figures that came out a year ago."

With this confirmation, we'll hopefully be able to post pictures soon. In the meantime, be sure to follow this thread on the forum for all the latest details.

PAPO DINOS

Here's a new line of toys that forum member Neelis came across recently. They are manufactured by the French toy company Papo and are currently available only overseas. However, US site tgftoys and linkandpinhobbies expect them in the states soon. The set includes a T-Rex, Velociraptor, Triceratops and a Parasaurolophus. The detail and likeness to their actual JP movie counterparts is something we definitely haven't seen in toy form before.

Here's what Neelis had to say regarding measurements:

The Rex is as big as the Jurassic Park III Re-Ak At-Ak Tyrannosaurus: but much, much more detailed. (It can't move it's limbs, by the way, the mouth is the only moving part.) The Raptor's head comes up to the chest of the Tyrannosaurus. Tyrannosaurus Rex Length: approx. 19 cm (head to curve in tail) Height: approx. 15.5 cm Velociraptor Length: approx. 16 cm (head to tail) Height: approx. 8 cm they aren't scaled, but it doesn't even matter: they are very well executed: If you see them you would swear they could have been official Jurassic Park toys. If only Universal would see this, strike a deal with Papo and have them create another line, with more dinosaurs from Jurassic Park: what great collectors items they could become!

Yes indeed. Hasbro could definitely learn a few things from this line. We can hope...right?? In the meantime, these Papo toys are definitely a very cool alternative. A big thanks to all JPtoys.com forum members that have participated in this story. Be sure to follow this thread on our forum for more details as they become available. In other news, we have new dioramas from Extinct and dilo33 now up for your viewing pleasure.

NEW COLLECTION & DIORAMAS ADDED

A new collection gallery from Thorondor-Elven Warrior as well as a new diorama gallery from Arno have just been uploaded for your viewing pleasure...enjoy!

NEW CUSTOMS & COLLECTIONS

We have two new galleries to pass along today. The first is a pair of new OG customs from Rexmeister. He's has a Chacharodontosaurus and a Styracosaurus. We also have a new collections gallery from Troy that has a nursery twist to it...you'll love it. Never to soon to start 'em out on JP!

CE: NIGHT HUNTER SERIES - PACKAGED SHOTS?

Forum regular PygmyAllosaurus came across an interesing article while browsing the "Toy Showcase" section of the December 2004 issue of Lee's Toy Review magazine. Here's what he had to say:

"I was shocked to see the Chaos Effect: Night Hunter line in the "Toy Showcase" section(which is where they show off prototypes & extremely rare pieces every month) of the December 2004 issue of Lee's Toy Review(it's #146). Not because I hadn't seen them before- there are pictures from a catalog on this website, but because they were pictures we don't have... packaged pictures. The pictures are quite tiny though, and before anyone asks I don't have a scanner or a digital camera. The caption underneath the pictures says: "Unreleased Jurassic Park Chaos Effect: Night Hunter Series. These are Hasbro product samples of the nixed last series of JP Chaos Effect figures; the Chaos Effect series went extinct on the cusp of the new millennium. No sales quotes have been recorded to date."

Of course this is something we're following up on so if some higher resolution pics do surface, we'll be sure to pass them along. BTW, be sure to stay tuned for tomorrow's update regarding the Diorama Contest.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hard to believe we're already in a new year huh? They get faster and faster it seems. It's also hard to believe we're beginning our 5th year coverage here...wow...where does the time go? Anyway, we certainly wish everyone out there the best in '05 and hope you continue to trust us as your #1 source for JP toy news & information.

Onto the site update, we have a 2 new customs from our good pal Vlad (Bucketfoot-Al). They include a repainted Galaxy Pteranodon as well as what he's calling his masterpiece, an 18 inch Sega Torosaurus.

NEW CUSTOMS & COLLECTIONS

Right on the heels of a great custom from Tyrant, Bucketfoot-Al drops by with his latest custom, a Resaurus T-Rex. Those of you already familiar with Al's work know what to expect...top notch stuff here. Check it out in his gallery. Al also passed along a few tid bits about his next project:

"Wait til you see what I have coming up next: I have just completed assembling a Horizon JP 1/20 scale Brachiosaurus - except in my diorama, its not 1/20 scale, and its not a Brachiosaurus...its a 1/35 scale Sauroposeidon (60 feet tall, 95 feet long, 80 tons. It absolutely DWARFS my 1/35 collection.")

"And here's the main trick - the JP Brachiosaurus from Horizon had one GLARING error - the 'straight-up' neck (impossible according to the latest scientific research.) So, again using the Quikplastic putty I love so much, I bent the neck forward and created a "filler" piece of neck to fill the gap; the result is that the model gained 4 inches in length, lost 2 inches in height, and now has a neck much closer to the angle shown in all the most recent Brachiosaurus reconstructions."

Make sure to stay tuned for that. We'll definitely pass that along as soon as we get it. In other news today, we have 2 new additions to our Collections section from JPX Tom & Hemostrat...enjoy!

MAKE YOUR OWN JP:OG SOUNDTRACK!

Anyone out there tired of waiting for the Operation Genesis soundtrack to be released on CD...if it ever is? Well, forum moderator Rexforever has come up with some simple to follow LEGAL instructions on how to make your very own OG soundtrack (using the PC version) today!

TURNING THREE

Wow, has another anniversary actually snuck up on us that quick? Our true anniversary falls on April 2nd but you get the idea. We surely didn't think we would make it this far and it wouldn't have been possible without your support year after year. Introducing a new baby into the family has been a big financial strain on us and keeping this site up & running has been a struggle at times. I can't guarantee how much longer we'll hang around but one guarantee you can count on is that while we are here, the staff here at JPToys.com will continue to bring you the most in-depth JP toy coverage available on the web. Looking into the future, we have some VERY exciting thing planned including a site redesign, store redesign and of course the on going effort to perfect our toy databases. In other words, you aint seen nothin' yet! ;)

OK, enough of that. How about a new poll question? Speaking of which, I have to thank everyone that participated in our previous one...all 466 of you! By far the most participation we've ever had in a single poll question.

"BUCKETS" OF CUSTOMS!

Cutsom maker extraordinaire, Bucketfoot-Al, has submitted a total of 6 brand new customs. Those include a McVey Resin T-Rex, Salas Resin Therezinosaurus & Spinosaurus, Salas Argentinosaurus, an update to his Galaxy Triceratops gallery and last but not least, the long awaited modified Horizon Jurassic Park Brachiosaurus. All of those are now up in Al's gallery.

Also today, we have a new poll up for your voting pleasure. In our last poll we asked, "How old a collector are ya?". Well over 400 people chimed in and 52% of you fell into the 11-15 group, second with 22% was the 16-20 group and the under 10 and 21-30 group pulled in 13% respectively. Just some numbers to chew on...man I'm gettin' old. ;)

DIORAMA SECTION UPDATED

Most of yesterday was spent working on the LONG overdue update to our diorama section. What exactly did we do? Well for starters, all dioramas have been moved to our JPToys.com server so you won't be getting those annoying data transfer exceeded messages from Geocities. We also edited all of the images down to a more uniform size so they'll all fit on one single page...no more clicking. All galleries have been alphabetized by username as well. So what does all this mean to you? Well besides the obvious mentioned above, it means that we're now accepting dioramas again! Just use the link provided on the diorama section main page if you're interested in submitting your handywork. Who knows, if the interest is high enough, you might just see another JPToys.com diorama contest around the corner. To kick things off, Bucketfoot-Al has submitted 6 new dioramas which are now up for your viewing pleasure...enjoy!

NEW DIORAMAS ADDED

The hits...err...dioramas just keep on rollin'! We have a brand new gallery from forum moderator Hemostrat and new additions to Ted's gallery, one of which includes a very interesting matchup between Darth Vader and our old friend Rexy. Curious? Check them out in our diorama section today. In other related news, our good friend Jurassic Joe over at Dino-Rama.com has released his very first newsletter which provides some very insightful tips on how to properly tint your dioramas. It's a very interesting read so make sure to give it a gander. Have a great weekend everyone!

NEW CE CLOSEUPS

Has it been a wild week to be a JP toy fan or what?! Well I hope it hasn't been wild enough that you've forgotten about the first major story that broke, those unreleased CE photos. Forum member Extinct was kind enough to pass along these new closeups of the Stegosaurus & Pachysaurolophus visible in the Chaos Effect prototypes section.

Thanks again to Extinct for sending those in. We'll be sure to post others as we receive them so be sure to keep checking back. In other news today, we have a new diorama gallery from Dinoboy18 which includes a whopping 17 dioramas...check 'em out!

1,000 MEMBERS!

If you've never registered on our forum before, now is as good a time as any...especially with all the big news happening lately. DIORAMAS & CUSTOMS ADDED

Today we have a new diorama gallery from "Zoemimus" that's definitely worth your time. We also have a new Safari/Galaxy Stegosaurus custom from Bucketfoot-Al in addition to updates to his previous Ankylosaurus piece. And finally today, we have a new poll question up regarding the JPD: 2 line...enjoy!

MORE JP:D 2 - UPDATE!

Forum member Jurassic_Jaws recently inquired to Hasbro about the Young T-Rex and Stego repaints that popped up on eBay recently (see 8/24 story). Here was their response:

"These items are from our Jurassic Park line and are sold exclusively at KayBee Toy and Hobby stores. Please visit your local KayBee Toy store or visit their web site at http://www.kbkids.com to check for availability."

This is the most concrete response we've received yet but as we all know, Hasbro customer reps don't always have the same stories. Only time will tell so be sure to stay tuned. Speaking of JP:D 2, we finally have our first reviews of the new series in. They were submitted by Rob6027 & Jurassic_Jaws. Both reviews take a look at the Cyclops Raptor repaint. Also while in the review section, you may notice that we've now moved all of the reviews over to our server from the old Geocities site. Yes indeed, the last connection we had to JPTC is now gone...*sniff* ;)

HUGE KB SALE!

While out with the family doing a little Chirstmas shopping today, I couldn't help but find my way into the local KB toy store. To my surprise most everything in the store was at least 40% off! They had plenty of the new JPD2 in stock with a regular price of $7.99 minus the 40% discount came to around $4.79. Now I'm not sure if this is a nation wide sale or perhaps just in my area but it's worth the trip if you're interested in picking up some extras at an extremely low price! In other sale news, be sure to run by Circuit City this week. They have the trilogy on sale, buy 2 for $15...DVD of course. Pretty nifty price if you've been holding off. Finally today, we have a new collection gallery from Fred that is definitely worth checking out.

JPTOYS CHAT...PART DEUX

On the heels of our very successful chat from February, forum moderator AEGIS has informed me that a 2nd AIM chat will be held this Saturday (4/12) @ 9pm US EST. Be sure to visit the official chat thread on our forum and post your screen name or PM AEGIS directly to be invited. In light of recent events around here, I'm sure this chat will be one you don't want to miss!

IF UNIVERSAL WON'T...

THE FANS WILL! Forum member Jack de la Mare and this team have finished their masterpiece, after years of hard work. Words are not the best way to describe this 41-minute lasting fan-film, PRIME SURVIVAL. Go see the movie on Youtube! We want to wish Jack all the best when he attends the movie festival with his fan-film. As a final note, Jack and his team would very much appreciate it if you took the effort to rate (and perhaps comment) their movie over at IMDB.

NEW JURASSIC PARK GRAPHIC NOVEL OUT IN AUGUST

After the Jurassic Park: Redemption and the Devils in the Desert comic book lines by IDW, the publisher has been working on yet another story. Forum member robotpo found the cover of the new Jurassic Park graphic novel Dangerous Games in the making. It will have a very different story than the previous two IDW Jurassic Park comic lines.

It is eleven years after the events of the Jurassic Park movies and CIA agent Daniel Espinoza is working undercover to infiltrate infamously brutal Nicaraguan drug lord Gabriel Cazares' drug ring. Cazares and his henchmen have taken over Isla Nubar and converted the main facility into a walled fortress and pleasure palace in the center of a primeval jungle filled with savage monsters. When his deep cover is blown, Espinoza finds himself lost and alone on the dangerous island, hunted by both armed thugs and prehistoric monstrosities. And there's someone else watching him, too - a mysterious figure in the shadows who could be Espinoza's only hope for survival... or the bringer of his ultimate doom!

Will this new story be the one fans have been waiting for? We will know, in three months!

ANOTHER GREAT CUSTOM FROM MEXICO!

Forum member Quetzalcoatlus posted yet another custom of his friend, Roberto. After the very good copy of the unreleased TLW series 2 Triceratops he managed to copy the Ultimasaurus from the Chaos Effect series. He even managed to modify the figure into something even more bad-ass! No T-Rex would want to meet this guy out in the open... More pictures are found here on the forums.

AND THERE IS A STORY FOR JPIV!

Forum members bebo1 and tyrannus passed on some interesting news today. Steven Spielberg has directly commented on the question of the progress of JPIV.

"We have a story, I can happily announce right now," Spielberg said, "We have a writer... Hopefully, we'll be making 'Jurassic Park 4' in the near future. In the next two or three years." Quoted from Comingsoon.net.

Stay tuned for more updates!

And the winner is...

Our members decided: Anonimusdinonicus' red banner will from now on be on our website. His banner won with 66.6% of all votes.

The second place also goes to Anonimusdinonicus, for his blue banner. It got 16% of all votes.

Metria_c85 and Jaws both have a shared 3rd place, with each 6.1% of all votes.

Our entire staff team wants to thank all participants for their effort. And let's not forget our voters: thanks for taking the trouble of placing a vote. You all made this contest to a big succes! :)

IT'S RAINING LOST PIX!

After practically living on Google and Waybackmachine.org for a few days, the staff team of JPToys managed to recover a lot of 'lost' prototype pictures. These pictures used to be on other JP toy fan sites, but those have disappeared through the years. Most pictures found their way to JPToys, but a bunch of them didn't and were considered lost for a very long time. This also includes the far better, original pictures of some prototypes. Plus, we added a lot of more recent prototype pictures too. So, we present to you: over 50 new prototype pictures on the website! Please check the prototype sections of each toy line, as the Jurassic Park series 2, The Lost World series 1 and 2, Jurassic Park 3, Chaos Effect, CamoXtreme, Jurassic Park:Dinosaurs 2 and Jurassic Park 2009 have all been updated.

And that's not all. We have a big surprise, also concerning recent prototypes (not visible in the picture below)... check our forum to see what it is (and for a full list of all new pictures)!

PAPO'S YEAR OF T-REXES... AND A BRACHIOSAURUS.

Every year Papo releases more sculpts, and every year we hope for even better sculpts than last time. This year, fortune smiles upon us! We get a T-Rex in a running pose (did someone mention V-Rex?), a repaint of the first Papo Rex (suits the Rex in the first movie, right?), and a hatchling in both green and brown. While the running T-Rex's catalog shot clearly shows it to be green, a brown version has already surfaced.

And that's not all. Papo listened carefully to the fans and finally made a very cool Brachiosaurus! Let's hope it's BIG. And of course, in earlier news Papo also comes with a Tylosaurus. Credit goes to Raptor86, lucidstillness and DemonCarnotaur for letting us know!

For larger pictures, please visit our Papo section!

NEW INTERVIEW: THE DESIGNER OF THE LOST WORLD TOYS!

And yet again we are proud to present you: an interview with the designer of the The Lost World line! Mr Joe DeVito speaks about designing the toys. Did you know that the magnet in the Compognathus' head was his idea? Mr Devito also designed the famous unreleased TLWS2 Triceratops and... the unreleased TLW Euoplocephalus! That's not all: he gave us the concept art! Check out the entire interview here! We also opened a discussion thread on the forum, here.

New reviews added to the site!

Once again, our moderator and official toy reviewer Roselaar wrote a lot of new reviews. This time for JP:Dinosaurs 2, JP:Dinosaurs 3 and JP2009. Have you wondered whether or not you should collect these lines? And what makes that JP2009 Bull T-Rex so different from his TLW counterpart? It's not just the additional points of articulation... So if you are interested or wondering if you should buy a figure, enjoy reading the reviews on the toy pages. Many thanks goes to Roselaar for all the time he put into this work... and we understand that reviewing a million repainted versions of the same figures can be daunting ;). (Thank you Hasbro, for your inability to release something new... at the very least you bored our reviewer, lol.)

APRILS FOOLS... with ladies...

Most people figured it out: we don't change the site. We couldn't let the 1th of April pass without a joke, huh?

Due to recent inactivity of a large group of our (mostly male) members, we decided to change things around here for a bit. From now on the site will be an archive website with not just toys, but beautiful young ladies with little clothing to show them. This strategy has never been used in the entire history of JPToys.com, and the entire staff team is convinced that the lack of this is the main reason why so many veterans left us over the years.

The introduction will be done in three steps. The first step is the new, far more interesting banner which is introduced today. The second step will be to change all the pictures on the site to include one of our ladies, and the third and last step will be video reviews where the ladies will talk about the toys in a far more interesting way than you can imagine! We expect to finish the new site in three months.

PS. To our lady members, there will be a ladies-only section too with male models.

PPS. If this caused anyone to feel offended, we are very sorry. JPToys.com will still be an archive website, but unfortunately this is the only way we can survive for the upcoming years.

NEW JP2011 HUMAN SCULPTS SURFACE!

Yet another update and possibly not the last one for this week, as the past two weeks a lot of new things have been brought to our attention. Last week forum member notpicard, also active on JoeDeclassified, was kind enough to give us detailed pictures of two previously unknown JP2011 figures! He also unearthed quite a bit of interesting information as he found a piece of artwork that included the Adventure Team logo and an Allosaurus; while we thought that the lack of news about JP2011 meant that it was definitely scrapped, Hasbro had been working in secret to give it a new release as the GI-Joe Dino Hunters Adventure Team. Sadly for all of us hoping to get the dinosaur sculpts... this line has also been scrapped.

The nameless figure with the eye-patch is believed to be from JP2011, he is also the one who shows on the artwork but in very different clothing. The other nameless figure with the bow is likely from the GI-Joe Dino Hunters Adventure Team, but he is believed to have a very similar JP2011 counterpart.

But this is not all. Last week my mailbox contained a picture of a new 'A.W.E. Striker Trooper': a red one?! Is this a hint to yet another unreleased 'A.W.E. Striker' variation for the JP2011 line? Or is it the early prototype for the blue 'A.W.E. Striker Trooper'?

Check out the updated line's pages and join the discussion on our forum!

JP:3D Toys are out! Or... are they?

A confusing day for the Jurassic Park toys fans. After contacting Toys "R" Us and Hasbro several times, our members learned that TODAY is the release day of the new JP:3D line.

But, where are they?!

Toys "R" Us personnel has been telling fans that it will probably arrive with the next truck shipment, which so far has not been the case, as well as their distribution centers are rumored not to have any Jurassic Park stock at the moment... and while Hasbro doesn't know the release date, they did give us some information on the Pachyrhinosaurus: The Dinosaur is brown with tan and blue and a few other colors (sounds like JP2009) and comes with a human figure that is articulated, he is wearing a hat and comes with a machine gun (Jurassic Joes?). The description talked about a showdown between the human and dino. The Pachyrhino has a head ramming action if you pull back one if its legs! So when will we finally get to buy them? We don't know. But chances are it's soon, so keep a very close eye on your local Toys "R" Us.

Special thanks to all forum members who have contacted Hasbro/Toys "R" Us to provide us with information.

JURASSIC PARK 2014 AND MORE!

Today we have a plethora of news to report, so lets get started! First up, we have what seems to be evidence of a new Hasbro Jurassic Park line for 2014! Once again, mysterious new listings have appeared in the Toys R Us inventory system just waiting to be discovered, which of course, we discovered. Check out the picture, and item details below!

  • Giant Raptor - Hasbro Item # B1139 - $9.99
  • Basher Biter - Hasbro Item # B1271 - $9.99
  • Growlers - Hasbro Item # B1633 - $14.99
  • Chomping Rex - Hasbro Item # B1156 - $19.99

While we do not have a release date yet, I suspect we may see the items as soon as August, or Fall at the latest. As for specifics on the toys, they remain unknown, though some may be the unreleased 6" JP 2011 sculpts (Which we know consisted of the following and perhaps more: Velociraptor, Stegosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Pachycephalosaurus, Spinosaurus and Ankylosaurus). Stay tuned for further updates..

Next up is our first look at merchandise from Jurassic World, the long awaited fourth installment of the Jurassic Park franchise! Thanks to a set visit via Today Show we caught our first glimpse into Jurassic Worlds fictional gift shop, and we got a clear look at a 'Raptor Claw' toy by Hasbro! Check out the video here, and the picture below!

If only we could get a higher resolution of the video, as there seem to be a few more actual Jurassic World products hanging on the back wall. At this time it seems the other items will remain a mystery, but hopefully further set visits will share more glimpses of whats to come.

Our final bit of news is a blast from the past, proving that the Jurassic Park Dinosaurs simply want to defy extinction: check out the canceled Jurassic Park Chaos Effect Ceratosaurus!

It's truly amazing that after all these years, a completely unknown Prototype appeared and that we were able to obtain pictures. It is worth noting that the item now resides in a private collection and is in good hands, so fear not, it will not be forgotten or lost. Check out the toys page here, and on that note, our barrage of news is wrapped up for today, but stay tuned for more as it seems there will be plenty to report on the horizon!
