PACKAGED SAMPLES OF ESTEMMENOSUCHUS AND SCUTOSAURUS!

So, it's time for the big reveal. Weeks ago, I gave a little hint on our forums about finding something quite interesting. Well, this something finally arrived, and there it is: a packaged sample of the unreleased Series 2 Estemmenosuchus, along with another packaged sample of the Scutosaurus planned for the same series. These two gems were found in China, and were probably packaging test shots that were snatched by some worker before being destroyed. Make sure to check out this thread in our forums for more info and pictures about them!

UNRELEASED SCUTOSAURUS CLOSE-UPS!

Well, well, well, pictures of unreleased toys are raining, these days! Today, we are proud to present you several pictures of the unreleased Scutosaurus from the Jurassic Park Series 2 line, which were taken by forum member AlphaBrachio. He was kind enough to take big, pristine clear pics of his gem and send them our way for all the community to enjoy. A big thanks goes to him!

In other news, we are proud to welcome a new affiliate: Jack De La Mare's Jurassic Park 4 website! As usual, you can access it by clicking on the little icon on the right. So, make sure to make a little stop on this neat-looking new site! :)

REVIEWS, CATALOGS, AND SPECULATION...

Today's going to be regular forum member Roselaar's day. We have several interested bits of info to share, and they all come from him. So, here we go!

First, we have 31 new, great-quality reviews for you to enjoy, all by Roselaar. You can discover them in the Lost World and Chaos Effect dinosaurs sections!

Roselaar also uncovered some old catalogs from local Dutch toy stores featuring JP toys, and he was kind enough to scan them and send them our way. You can see what this kind of catalogs look here in Europe by going to our new Holland catalogs section.

And finally, some speculation about the unreleased Ornithosuchus with Dino Trapper... Roselaar recently reminded us about a strange eBay auction, which makes for a neat new point of interest about this elusive toy...

That's it for today, boys and girls! Have fun with this bunch of news, and stay tuned! We still have one or two small things in store... ;)

THEY'RE JUST CUSTOMS, BUT STILL...

As Kevin said last time, we like to show what the Jurassic Park fan base is able to do. But today's news is going to be more toy related, with, first, this amazing Chaos Effect Euoplocephalus custom, inspired by the well-known unreleased toy, and created by forum member Dutchallosaur. You can see more pictures of this great piece of work in Dutchallosaur's thread over at the forum, and a video featuring this custom over here (yes, she even took the time to have a working action feature). Impressive work, isn't it? :)

Speaking of impressive (but size-wise, this time) works, check out this huge model created for a Haunted House attraction, and which is nothing less than a life-size Electronic Velociraptor, from the Lost World line. Now that's an attraction everyone would want to go to, huh? ;)

JURASSIC PARK DINO BATTLERS LINE DELAYED!

Well, we're now in June, and still no sight of the new Dino Battlers line. Another unreleased line? Not really. Forum member Dutchallosaur contacted several TRU's in Europe, and she got some interesting information:

I called tons of TRU's in all of Europe and the US too, and tons of Hasbro's in Europa and the one in the US.

What did I find out: there are at least a dozen of new figures to be released. So not 4, at LEAST a dozen. When will they be released? The SECOND WEEK OF AUGUST. Strange enough NO Hasbro's in Europe have them in their database, but the American one has (unfortunately no pictures, I asked them). As of TRU's, as far as I know they will be released in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and obviously the US.

And best of all: the German women said she saw an Electronic T-Rex in her database with figureS. We haven't seen that before have we? That might explain the price! Stay tuned, I’ll call the French TRU back in a minute for more info.

And after contacting the French TRU manager, she got a juicy bit of information: the name of some of the dinosaurs featured in the line!

Ok, I have some more information. According to the manager, the following products are to be released:

*Triceratops

*Spinosaurus

*Electronic Dilophosaurus

*T-Rex

He didn't see the large T-Rex in his database yet, but he told me they rarely have anything in their database more than a month before release. He also saw a loose action figure called Patron PT (wtf?). It is possible I didn't write that one down correctly, he talked French with a REALLY big accent, it was very hard for me to understand him. I had him spell that name 4 times for me, so I think I come very close to the real name now. -=EDIT=- Neelis stated that the Patron figure might be a Pteranodon. Because the French guy had a hard time pronouncing it, there's a good chance Neelis is right.

Price range was from $7 - $17, which was not put in Euro's yet.

Unfortunately, he had no pictures in his database, so I couldn't obtain any. I also tried to had him describe some figures, but as he had no pics, he couldn't.

Judging from the figures, I can say for certain it will be a JPIII repaint series again. Note: these are not all the figures, only the ones in his database. So there are more to be released anyway. Only, he couldn't tell me how many.

So, a huge thanks goes to Dutchallosaur for taking so much of her time to give us all these news! :)

CONGRATULATIONS, MA'AM, IT'S A NEW T-REX!

Finally, a picture of what is supposed to be the last JP2K9 toy we were still waiting to see was released, over at Toyark.com (a big thanks goes to ChaosGhostHunter for letting us know). Most people expected the rumored new Electronic T-Rex to be yet another mere repaint of good ol' JP3 Ultra T-Rex, but boy were we wrong! This new Rex appears to be a retooled version of the enormous Bull T-Rex from the Lost World line, without the "open-belly" feature, but with poseable legs! Now, that's a huge surprise! And the cherry on the cake, the paintjob is very reminiscent of the infamous unreleased Gulper T-Rex. Nice tip of the hat from the designer here! So, kudos to Hasbro for this daring move! :)

HASBRO OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCES JP2K9 LINE, PLUS MUCH MORE!

Hey folks! A lot of news today! First, that's it, Hasbro finally announced the release of the new JP2K9 line! Well, they've been out for a while now, but still, it's good to know they advertise this line a bit. And to see that they are aware of the Jurassic Park fan base. ;) Read on:

PAWTUCKET, R.I., August 25, 2009 -- Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE:HAS) has announced plans to unleash the legendary dinosaurs from Universal Pictures’ Jurassic Park, one of the most powerful franchises in motion picture history. This fall, under a licensing agreement with Universal Partnerships & Licensing, Hasbro plans to launch a new action figure line based on the film’s prehistoric predators exclusively at Toys“R”Us stores across the country.

“Jurassic Park is one of the most successful film franchises of all time and has a passionate fan base,” said Derryl DePriest, Vice President of Marketing at Hasbro. “Dinosaurs are also tremendously popular with kids, and Jurassic Park is the mark of authenticity when it comes to realistic and exciting dinosaur play.”

“Since the dinosaurs of Jurassic Park first stomped onto movie screens more than 15 years ago, they’ve captured kids’ imaginations,” said Karen Dodge, Senior Vice President, Chief Merchandising Officer, Toys“R”Us. “There is no better place to find toys based on kids’ favorite characters than Toys“R”Us, and we’re excited to be the only retailer to offer kids and collectors official Jurassic Park action figures.”

“Jurassic Park remains the quintessential dinosaur brand,” said Stephanie Sperber, Executive Vice President, Universal Partnerships & Licensing. “The movies still rank as one of the top five trilogies of all time, and with Hasbro and Toys“R”Us behind the line, we know there will be great demand for the product. We truly have a winning combination on our hands.”

Hasbro’s Jurassic Park product line will be available exclusively at Toys“R”Us stores beginning this fall, featuring authentic dinosaur action figures in various sizes, such as:

Jurassic Park Basic Dinosaur Two-Pack Assortment Now, kids can assemble their own dino army with this collection of authentic Jurassic Park dinosaurs! With two dinosaurs in each pack, this assortment allows children to create amazing dinosaur adventures. Ages: 4 & up; No batteries required

Jurassic Park Deluxe Dinosaur and Figure Assortment Each deluxe two-pack in this assortment comes with a dinosaur and a “Dino Tracker” action figure that is equipped with an accessory that lets them track their prey. Now, kids can determine who will win the hunt –dinosaurs or humans. Ages: 4 & up; No batteries required

Jurassic Park Electronic Dinosaur Assortment The battle is coming! These fully articulated dinosaurs battle each other and have “dino-damage” to show for it. Each dinosaur lets out a fierce roar when kids activate its individual attack action. To create a more realistic battle, kids can also press the “dino-damage” to hear the dinosaur howl. Ages: 4 & up; 3 “A76” or “LR44” Alkaline batteries required (included)

Jurassic Park Deluxe Electronic T-Rex The king of the dinosaurs has arrived! This massive T-Rex comes to life with multiple growls, roars and howls and even a “bone crunching” sound effect for when it eats its prey. Additionally, its motion activated stomping sounds are sure to strike fear into humans and other dinosaurs alike. This giant dinosaur comes with a “Dino Tracker” action and a weapon that really fires. As an added bonus, the back of the box has an illustration that can be cut out and assembled into an off-road vehicle. Ages: 4 & up; 3 “AAA” batteries required (included)

Speaking of the new Deluxe Electronic Rex, new pictures and details of it have surfaced recently on Actionfigs.com. It appears that the final paint job is darker than what was already showed, but still highly reminiscent of the unreleased Gulper T-Rex. But, as said in the press release, it also features stomping sounds, and as seen in the new loose picture, ball-jointed feet! Yup, that's a first for a Jurassic Park dinosaur!

Also on Actionfigs.com, loose shots of all the JP2K9 toys are been released. And pictures of the package back of most of them have been taken by forum members DemonCarnotaur, Raptorgrrl and Jack De La Mare, as well as a diorama shot of the Battle Growler Velociraptor by Angelrex53. All these pictures can be found in the new Jurassic Park 2K9 section.

And finally, JPToys staff's prayers go to the family of forum member Samuel Mc Gowan, better known as JPdude. He was a well-respected member in our forums, and a good friend who left us way too early. May he rest in peace.

GOODNESS FROM JAPAN, AND ONE AMAZING CUSTOM!

So, it looks like 2010 is definitely shaping up to be a great year for Jurassic Park collectors! Forum member Rabidrex recently posted some info about the Revoltech Expo in Japan, where well-known Japanese brand Kaiyodo revealed their 2010 line-up. And yup, a T-Rex from Jurassic Park is among these new toys! For all the people who have wanted a well-articulated T-Rex for year, look no further, this one is gonna deliver. The only "downside" is its size: approximately 2.5" tall and about 6" long head to tail. But still, it's going to be a great piece of collectible to own. Check this link for a good view of the T-Rex prototype!

In other news, forum member Quetzalcoatlus, well known on our forums for the amazing customs made by a friend of his, Roberto, showed us the latest creation of his buddy: a custom of the unreleased TLW series 2 Triceratops! And boy, is this custom drool-worthy! And it also features removable dino-damage piece, and movable legs! Indeed, one awesome piece to own. You can see more pictures of this gem in Quetzalcoatlus' thread on the forums. Enjoy!

Custom Triceratops

BEWARE: SCAMMER ALERT!

For once, we have not really pleasant news to pass. We recently were contacted by a person named Julian (last name not mentioned for privacy reasons), from Germany, who was claiming to own both Desert Spinosaurus and Tropical Velociraptor (the infamous CamoXtreme unreleased figures) loose, and wanting to sell them for $500. Here are the pictures that were attached to the mail we received:

Sadly, this story doesn't hold together anymore after closer examination. The JP tag... All of the CamoXtreme toys had the JP/// logo, and nope, these two don't. And, as forum member 0thebigwytec5 revealed, both were recently sold on eBay (as seen here and here, but this time clearly labeled as custom figures.

It's a shame, because these two toys are very good customs. But at $250 each, when they were bought at $40... So, if any of you receive such a mail from that person, you know what to do...

FIRST JP:3D FIGURES REVEALED!

Thanks to forum member DemonCarnotaur, we finally have the first pictures of the new Jurassic Park 3D toyline (which should be called Jurassic Park 2009 Series 2, when you look at the packaging)! And even better, the sets pictured are the two most anticipated ones: the Pachyrhinosaurus Clash and the Allosaurus Assault, which both feature unreleased news sculpts, known only from the cancelled "Joerassic Park" line. These two dinos also come with unreleased Gi-Joe figures from the same scrapped line, so maybe we can expect more of these in this new line. Time will tell!

Enjoy, and stay tuned!

NEW TLW CONCEPT ART, AND SOME JP4 NEWS!

Hey folks! Today, we've got another proof that even after more than 15 years, you can still discover new things about unreleased toys from old Jurassic Park lines. We present you, on behalf of our long-time contributor and resident "toy detective" DemonCarnotaur, a new concept art for a figure planned for the Lost World Series 2 line: the "Scout Hunter" with "Blood Hound Carno".

Indeed, as many people mentioned, this figure is rather reminiscent of the video game character Turok, but still, it would have made quite a unique and exciting new concept in the JP universe!

In other news, what we tentatively consider to be the Jurassic Park 4 logo (or maybe a place-holder logo, time will tell) has recently been revealed, along with the confirmation that JP4 will indeed be released in 2015. Patience is a virtue, but considering that we've been waiting since 2001, heck, what's two more years? Also, a summary of JP4's story has been posted on a well-known movie website, JoBlo (spoilers, obviously). It's still a bit early to consider this to be exactly what the movie will be about, especially with all the rewrites currently happening, but can you imagine what kind of cool toys we'll be having if they follow this story? 2015 can't come soon enough! And meanwhile, stay tuned!

Mattel: First pictures of the 2019 line-up leaked!

Hey folks! If you thought 2018 was already hurting your wallet too much, well, 2019 is shaping up to be no different. As you can see below, the first pictures from Mattel's line-up for next year have been revealed on 4chan, and what can be seen is rather...interesting. We can see several items from a new "Savage Strike" line, including a Dimetrodon (from the 2018 Destructasaurs line, which is still unreleased to this day), brand new Tapejara and Styracosaurus (a species long overdue) figures, as well as repacks and retools from the 2018 line.

Also revealed were two figures from a "Dual Action" line: a Stegosaurus repaint/retool with rather funky colors, and what appears to be a Therizinosaurus with a great body, and a totally inaccurate head sculpt (unless it's a Therizi/Raptor hybrid, of course).

And finally, a new big T-Rex was shown, with what appears to be a thrashing tail action feature. Hope you still have some space after the four (six if you count the Battle Damage versions) big Rexes released this year!

So, there you have it for now! Of course, these are preliminary versions of what we'll see next year (to give you an idea of how different released items can be, take a look at these Roarivores early prototypes from this year's line), so expect some changes! We will of course keep you updated as more is revealed, so stay tuned! :)

2023's line checklist!

Hey folks! Jurassic World Dominion came and went, but things are far from slowing down for Mattel, with a new Dino Trackers (heh, where have we heard that before? ;) ) line seeing release in 2023, with an onslaught of new and obscure species to add to your shelves, along with the continuation of the fan-loved Hammond Collection! What's not to love? What, more, you say? Well, how about a new line celebrating Jurassic Park's 30th anniversary with many throwbacks to the Kenner era (humans with dino hatchlings, real-feel skin, and more!)? Definitely a great time to be a JP/JW toy collector! As usual, we'll keep updating this checklist through the year, so keep coming back! :)

JURASSIC PARK NIGHT HUNTER SERIES

I bet you're wondering what in the heck I'm talking about, right? Well, our good friends over at jurassicpark.action-figure.net have gotten their hands on some pretty cool exclusive photos and descriptions from Hasbro of this unreleased series. It seems that this set was supposed to ship in 1999 but after the failure of the chaos effect line this set was a no go.

JP3 DVD RELEASE DETAILS!

Finally Universal has decided to give us some details on the new JP/// DVD set to be released on December 11th. Being the huge DVD fan that I am, I can't tell you how excited I am that this disc is only about 2 months away and it looks like Universal has put together a great package for us fans. Here's the details from the Digital Bits: The Jurassic Park III: Collector's Edition will carry an SRP of $26.95. You'll get the expected anamorphic widescreen transfer and Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 audio options, along with a plethora of extras. Included will be an audio commentary with director Joe Johnston, The Making of Jurassic Park III production featurette shot on set, additional featurettes on the special effects (including The New Dinosaurs of Jurassic Park III, A Guided Tour of Stan Winston's Studio and A Visit to ILM), a Dinosaur Turntable (providing a 3D look at the creatures themselves), a production photo gallery, storyboard sequences, the Jurassic Park III Archives, theatrical trailers and more. As is par for the course with Universal these days, there will be multiple versions of the title released the same day. You'll be able to buy the film in full frame if that's what you prefer, or you can buy a box set of all three films, entitled The Jurassic Park Trilogy, for $76.95. This new box set will reportedly contain a bonus disc of previously unreleased material, The Jurassic Park Franchise. And if you already own the movies on DVD, you can get the new disc without buying the box set. This comes from the studio's press release: "Consumers purchasing Jurassic Park III who already own Jurassic Park and The Lost World DVDs may receive a collectible Jurassic Park DVD slipcase and Bonus Disc allowing them to complete their own "Jurassic Park Trilogy Collection" via mail for only $6.95." A big thanks has to go out to Universal for making this Bonus Disc available to those of us that have already purchased JP & TLW. I can't wait to get my hands on it! Make sure you check out the Digital Bits for some great pictures of the Box set and the JP/// cover.

SIDESHOW POLL UPDATE

Well there's good news and bad news. The good news is that JP won the poll in a landslide. The bad news is that JP was not announced at this years Comic-Con. Apparently Sideshow announced a Conan The Barbarian line. Don't be discouraged though because these poll results can't do anything but help JP in the future with regards to Sideshow.

In other news, an interesting collection thread popped up on our forum over the weekend that shows what appears to be the unreleased CE Ultimasaurus (along with a few other unreleased items). We haven't heard back from this member since the posting so there's no way to verify its authenticity just yet. In the meantime, you can check it out on our forum and decide for yourself. We will of course pass along any updates on this if/when they become available so please stay tuned.

ULTIMASAURUS SURFACES?

No, this isn't our idea of a late April Fool's joke (although it would've made a good one). Forum member 'Piltdown Chickenraptors' came across an ebay auction recently that may just have the only "unreleased" Chaos Effect Ultimasaurs that we've seen so far. Is it the real deal or perhaps a clever custom? Click here for the pic. We will of course keep you updated if/when we receive any more info. on this potential stunning find.

(UPDATE 4/09) - The auction has ended with apparently no winner according to the seller who told us that the item was withdrawn so that he could take more time to properly evaluate the item's worth and go from there. We can only hope that it will pop up on ebay again sometime soon so that we'll have another chance to solve this mystery. Until then, stay tuned for further updates and please pass along anything you see fit as it relates to this story.

JPS2 SCUTO SURFACES...AGAIN?

If you remember way back to February of 2003 we had our first ebay sighting of the unreleased JPS2 Scutosaurus & Ornithosuchus. Well it appears that Scutosaurus at least has popped up online again but this time on the Chinese site Taobao (think ebay). It's very interesting to see these rare items showing up from time to time on ebay and various other sites such as this. It really makes you wonder just what other JP gems are out there waiting to be discovered. A big thanks to forum member 'Piltdown Chickenraptors' for the heads up.

NIGHT HUNTER PROTO SURFACES?

A very interesting auction popped up on ebay recently claiming to be a previously unreleased CE Night Hunter Spinosaurus. Certain JPtoys.com forum members requested more detailed pictures of the Spino but the seller mysteriously ended the listing early. Is it a real gem similar to the JPS2 Ornitho that popped up a few months ago? Click on the thumbnail and be the judge for yourself. We'll be sure to keep you updated if better pics/more info comes our way.

JPS2 ORNITHOSUCHUS - PACKAGED?

The news keeps coming fast and furious here at JPtoys lately! This latest news item was stubmbled upon by forum members 'Triceratops123', 'giganotoigauana' and 'parasaurolophus722 and appears to be a mock-up or prototype packaged version of the previously unreleased JPS2 Ornithosuchus. Similar to the packaged (but unreleased) CE Ultimasaurus, this Ornithosuchus was more than likely packaged for showcase at a Toy Fair but ultimately never saw the light of toy store shelves. The Ornithosuchus was being sold on eBay in England but unforunately was cancelled recently due to what the seller termed "oversealous fans" asking too many questions about the item.

ULTIMASAURUS & GULPER PROTOS SURFACE?

Forum member 'yankeetrex' spotted these 2 auctions of what appears to be prototype figures of the unreleased Ultimasaurus & Gulper T-Rex. Could it be true? Check the auctions out for yourself & judge. The starting bids are not low at all so be careful!

CUSTOMS UPDATE

On the heels of our last customs update we have another new gallery from 'Marten' with a dandy lead-off entry! Have you ever wondered what the unreleased Gulper T-Rex might've looked like? Well Marten's given it his best shot so here's your chance to take a peek! Be sure to give that a gander. In related news, everyone is already familiar with custom regular 'Bucket-foot Al' aka Vlad. Well he now has his own gallery/webpage with all of his previously released customs and of course those he's currently working on. His gallery here his linked to the new site as well. Lastly today we have a new JPD3 poll question up for your voting pleasure.

MISSING/UNRELEASED CAMOXTREME TOYS?!?!

WOW! JPToys.com is making waves with our new picture database! One of our enthusiastic members took note and sent in the below picture to be added to our archives! The picture is of the back of the Deluxe Desert Spinosaurus package. We see our elusive friends the Ultra Canyon T-rex and Deluxe Desert Spinosaurus - but they've been joined by two new toys which many of you have never seen: Deluxe Tropical Raptor & Lava Pteranadon! The picture is a bit fuzzy, but it is still a gem none-the-less. Visit our Toy Database here to learn more about these.

SITE UPDATES

First up I wanted to mention our new poll question. This time around we want to know which unreleased prototype would you most like to own? Be sure to let us know by voting today! The next thing I'll mention is regarding our news archives. I went through and gathered up all of our old news stories from our first site at JP3 HQ and then later at Geocities for placement with our current archives. It was really fun looking back at some of the old headlines like our first "JP3 Hasbro Toys Are On Their Way" to "CamoXtreme Chaos" and the whole Tapejara controversy. Fun times indeed. So take a trip down memory lane when you get a chance, I really think you'll enjoy it.

CANYON REX OUTBREAK!

Did anyone else hear that thud? It's the sound of the previously "unreleased" Canyon T-Rex dropping in value. The various reports of sightings started coming in on our forum about two weeks ago with members spotting them at their local KB store and eBay. Now the market seems to be flooded with them! Doing a quick search on eBay will reveal that several Canyon's recently went for as low as $29! So all of this begs the question, has Hasbro quietly released these toys through the back door or are they possibly being released through various wholesalers who acquired them before the line was dropped? Either way, this is great news for JP collector's looking to get their hands on yet another JP toy. Be sure to let us know about any of your sightings by following this thread on our forum.

In other news today, we have a new review of TLW Ground Tracker submitted by DeereX. We also have a new poll question up (submitted by "stitch") for your voting pleasure. Be sure to vote and let us know what your favorite JP toy packaging is.

WHAT IF?

Have you ever wondered what some of your favorite unreleased JP toys might have looked like had they been released? Well wonder no more! The idea for this section came to us from Tom, one of our forum members when he posted a mock-up version of the unreleased JP Series 2 Gulper T-Rex. Of course we thought this would be a wonderful idea for a new section here at JPtoys! So without any further delay, we present to you the What If? section!

CE: NIGHT HUNTER SERIES - PACKAGED SHOTS?

Forum regular PygmyAllosaurus came across an interesing article while browsing the "Toy Showcase" section of the December 2004 issue of Lee's Toy Review magazine. Here's what he had to say:

"I was shocked to see the Chaos Effect: Night Hunter line in the "Toy Showcase" section(which is where they show off prototypes & extremely rare pieces every month) of the December 2004 issue of Lee's Toy Review(it's #146). Not because I hadn't seen them before- there are pictures from a catalog on this website, but because they were pictures we don't have... packaged pictures. The pictures are quite tiny though, and before anyone asks I don't have a scanner or a digital camera. The caption underneath the pictures says: "Unreleased Jurassic Park Chaos Effect: Night Hunter Series. These are Hasbro product samples of the nixed last series of JP Chaos Effect figures; the Chaos Effect series went extinct on the cusp of the new millennium. No sales quotes have been recorded to date."

Of course this is something we're following up on so if some higher resolution pics do surface, we'll be sure to pass them along. BTW, be sure to stay tuned for tomorrow's update regarding the Diorama Contest.

EXCLUSIVE UNRELEASED CE PICS!

JPToys is proud to bring you yet another exclusive look at some never before seen Chaos Effect toys! Forum member Extinct came across these in a 1998 Toy Fair Catalog. Just what's included? You can see it all in our Catalogs section, but here's a quick glance:

* InGen Lab
* Ian Malcom
* "Power Suit"
* Ankylosaurus
* Stegosaurus and Pachysaurolophus
* Ultimasaurus & Deynocanis
* Deynocanis (closeup)

We will try to get higher quality scans up as soon as possible. Be sure to catch the discussion regarding this significant find in our FORUMS (you may have to register). In conjunction with these great new pictures, we also have a new poll question up for your voting pleasure today.

EBAY ALERT! NEW TOY LINE!?!?

JPToys forum member Stitch has located some rather curious Jurassic Park toys on www.ebay.com. The seller had this to say:

"We were amazed to come across these at an estate sale, and snatched them up. We are in the process of building a dinosaur park, so we are purchasing any great dinosaur items we can find. We are currently accepting sponsors for our life-sized dinosaur exhibits. Please let us know if you know of anyone who might want to “own” a dinosaur statue. Either way, these great JPs are the real deal, they were made by Hasbro. I’m attaching a scan of the back of the box."

The cardback has a date of 2003. Crafty Customs? Bootlegs? Unreleased Prototype mock-ups? Or is Hasbro giving us the real deal? Was this the rumored 10th Anniversary line we petitioned for? Discuss in our forums!

NEW CE CLOSEUPS

Has it been a wild week to be a JP toy fan or what?! Well I hope it hasn't been wild enough that you've forgotten about the first major story that broke, those unreleased CE photos. Forum member Extinct was kind enough to pass along these new closeups of the Stegosaurus & Pachysaurolophus visible in the Chaos Effect prototypes section.

Thanks again to Extinct for sending those in. We'll be sure to post others as we receive them so be sure to keep checking back. In other news today, we have a new diorama gallery from Dinoboy18 which includes a whopping 17 dioramas...check 'em out!

DINOMANIA REVIEW

About 2 weeks ago JPToys.com was contacted by the folks at Promotopia, Inc. probably better known to you as the makers of the Dinomania line of miniature dinosaur collectibles. Originally released in Japan only, Promotopia will now distribute the line here in the US, Canada & Mexico. They asked us to review their product and of course, we were happy to oblige.

In other news, Armothe recently uploaded new shots of the unreleased Chaos Effect Night Hunter series from a newly acquired 1999 Toy Fair catalog. These are by far the best pictures we've seen of this line to date.

ANOTHER GREAT CUSTOM FROM MEXICO!

Forum member Quetzalcoatlus posted yet another custom of his friend, Roberto. After the very good copy of the unreleased TLW series 2 Triceratops he managed to copy the Ultimasaurus from the Chaos Effect series. He even managed to modify the figure into something even more bad-ass! No T-Rex would want to meet this guy out in the open... More pictures are found here on the forums.

NEW INTERVIEW: MR STURCKE AND MR BUTKUS ABOUT JPD2 CONCEPT ART

Today we have another interview for you. Mr. Sturcke and Mr. Butkus are kind enough to tell us about some Jurassic Park: Dinosaurs 2 artwork that was featured on their websites. That included some previously unknown, unreleased specimens! Did you know there were a RC Hummer and a RC T-Rex drawn for that line? Also, they gave us some insight in how much artistic liberty they have in designing paint schemes for dinosaurs or for the packaging.

Check it out here!

NEW DINOSAUR PROTOTYPES FOUND!

This week has been full of new developments, and the most important being the discovery of four (!) new, unreleased dinosaur sculpts, previously unknown! The two large carnivores and the two large herbivores are not featured on the site yet, but will be soon. For those too curious to wait, visit our forum thread about them and join the discussion!

NEW INTERVIEW: THE DESIGNER OF THE LOST WORLD TOYS!

And yet again we are proud to present you: an interview with the designer of the The Lost World line! Mr Joe DeVito speaks about designing the toys. Did you know that the magnet in the Compognathus' head was his idea? Mr Devito also designed the famous unreleased TLWS2 Triceratops and... the unreleased TLW Euoplocephalus! That's not all: he gave us the concept art! Check out the entire interview here! We also opened a discussion thread on the forum, here.

TOY HUNTER EPISODE FEATURES PROTOTYPES OF JURASSIC PARK

Today we have exciting news, it has brought to our attention by several members that TODAY on TRAVEL CHANNEL, around 9 pm EST, the episode titled 'Prehistoric Pennsylvania' will air, which features many Jurassic Park prototypes. From the pictures available we saw that there are many prototypes, like a Thrasher T-Rex, but also the notorious unreleased TLWS2 Triceratops! This is an episode you cannot miss! Since many foreign members cannot watch this episode, they are advised to keep an eye on the forum. We will try to offer a solution.

Please visit our forum discussion right here! We also encourage all fans to post comments on Travel Channel's Facebook page, as well as their Twitter account. Let them hear we are very excited someone gave the relatively small Jurassic Park merchandise this much attention!
Credit goes to forum members sickleclaw, desj06, JPvision and one anonymous contributor for giving us all the information and pictures.

NEW JP2011 HUMAN SCULPTS SURFACE!

Yet another update and possibly not the last one for this week, as the past two weeks a lot of new things have been brought to our attention. Last week forum member notpicard, also active on JoeDeclassified, was kind enough to give us detailed pictures of two previously unknown JP2011 figures! He also unearthed quite a bit of interesting information as he found a piece of artwork that included the Adventure Team logo and an Allosaurus; while we thought that the lack of news about JP2011 meant that it was definitely scrapped, Hasbro had been working in secret to give it a new release as the GI-Joe Dino Hunters Adventure Team. Sadly for all of us hoping to get the dinosaur sculpts... this line has also been scrapped.

The nameless figure with the eye-patch is believed to be from JP2011, he is also the one who shows on the artwork but in very different clothing. The other nameless figure with the bow is likely from the GI-Joe Dino Hunters Adventure Team, but he is believed to have a very similar JP2011 counterpart.

But this is not all. Last week my mailbox contained a picture of a new 'A.W.E. Striker Trooper': a red one?! Is this a hint to yet another unreleased 'A.W.E. Striker' variation for the JP2011 line? Or is it the early prototype for the blue 'A.W.E. Striker Trooper'?

Check out the updated line's pages and join the discussion on our forum!

NEW JP:3D LINE WILL HAVE NEW SCULPTS!

Thank God, our prayers were answered. We do get (some) new sculpts for the first time in many years. So far it seems that the unreleased JP2011 Allosaurus and JP2011 Pachyrhinosaurus will actually be released! The rest of the line will likely contain of repaints, although there is a rumor it would also include the unreleased JP2011 A.W.E. Strikers.

Unfortunately, not all the news was good. The line seems to be Toys "R" Us only, as well as USA and Canada only. Good news for all the fans living there, bad news for the fans living abroad. Stay tuned for more news!

JURASSIC PARK 2014 AND MORE!

Today we have a plethora of news to report, so lets get started! First up, we have what seems to be evidence of a new Hasbro Jurassic Park line for 2014! Once again, mysterious new listings have appeared in the Toys R Us inventory system just waiting to be discovered, which of course, we discovered. Check out the picture, and item details below!

  • Giant Raptor - Hasbro Item # B1139 - $9.99
  • Basher Biter - Hasbro Item # B1271 - $9.99
  • Growlers - Hasbro Item # B1633 - $14.99
  • Chomping Rex - Hasbro Item # B1156 - $19.99

While we do not have a release date yet, I suspect we may see the items as soon as August, or Fall at the latest. As for specifics on the toys, they remain unknown, though some may be the unreleased 6" JP 2011 sculpts (Which we know consisted of the following and perhaps more: Velociraptor, Stegosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Pachycephalosaurus, Spinosaurus and Ankylosaurus). Stay tuned for further updates..

Next up is our first look at merchandise from Jurassic World, the long awaited fourth installment of the Jurassic Park franchise! Thanks to a set visit via Today Show we caught our first glimpse into Jurassic Worlds fictional gift shop, and we got a clear look at a 'Raptor Claw' toy by Hasbro! Check out the video here, and the picture below!

If only we could get a higher resolution of the video, as there seem to be a few more actual Jurassic World products hanging on the back wall. At this time it seems the other items will remain a mystery, but hopefully further set visits will share more glimpses of whats to come.

Our final bit of news is a blast from the past, proving that the Jurassic Park Dinosaurs simply want to defy extinction: check out the canceled Jurassic Park Chaos Effect Ceratosaurus!

It's truly amazing that after all these years, a completely unknown Prototype appeared and that we were able to obtain pictures. It is worth noting that the item now resides in a private collection and is in good hands, so fear not, it will not be forgotten or lost. Check out the toys page here, and on that note, our barrage of news is wrapped up for today, but stay tuned for more as it seems there will be plenty to report on the horizon!
