So, as people lurking around the forums have noticed, two prototypes have recently been unearthed, and luckily for us, the owner (a well-known collector nicknamed Ajaythehunter) was kind enough to take a bunch of pictures for us to drool over. All these pictures have been added to the The Lost World Triceratops and the Chaos Effect Ultimasaurus individual pages. Feel free to take a look at these gems, and again, a big thanks to Ajaythehunter for his kindness!

So, it's finally confirmed. We have a new Jurassic Park toy line to drool over! Steve, ActionFigs.com Editor-In-Chief, recently got his hands over two publicity shots, both loose and packaged of the first Dino Battlers two-pack: Triceratops vs. Tyrannosaurus Rex. So, yes, they're indeed JP3 toys repaints, but we've got to admit that the new packaging is definitely striking, and much better than the last JP: Dinosaurs lines. It's very clear that Hasbro has put some time over this new line, so let's hope the rest won't disappoint!

Well, we're now in June, and still no sight of the new Dino Battlers line. Another unreleased line? Not really. Forum member Dutchallosaur contacted several TRU's in Europe, and she got some interesting information:

I called tons of TRU's in all of Europe and the US too, and tons of Hasbro's in Europa and the one in the US.

What did I find out: there are at least a dozen of new figures to be released. So not 4, at LEAST a dozen. When will they be released? The SECOND WEEK OF AUGUST. Strange enough NO Hasbro's in Europe have them in their database, but the American one has (unfortunately no pictures, I asked them). As of TRU's, as far as I know they will be released in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and obviously the US.

And best of all: the German women said she saw an Electronic T-Rex in her database with figureS. We haven't seen that before have we? That might explain the price! Stay tuned, I’ll call the French TRU back in a minute for more info.

And after contacting the French TRU manager, she got a juicy bit of information: the name of some of the dinosaurs featured in the line!

Ok, I have some more information. According to the manager, the following products are to be released:

*Spinosaurus

*Electronic Dilophosaurus

*T-Rex

He didn't see the large T-Rex in his database yet, but he told me they rarely have anything in their database more than a month before release. He also saw a loose action figure called Patron PT (wtf?). It is possible I didn't write that one down correctly, he talked French with a REALLY big accent, it was very hard for me to understand him. I had him spell that name 4 times for me, so I think I come very close to the real name now. -=EDIT=- Neelis stated that the Patron figure might be a Pteranodon. Because the French guy had a hard time pronouncing it, there's a good chance Neelis is right.

Price range was from $7 - $17, which was not put in Euro's yet.

Unfortunately, he had no pictures in his database, so I couldn't obtain any. I also tried to had him describe some figures, but as he had no pics, he couldn't.

Judging from the figures, I can say for certain it will be a JPIII repaint series again. Note: these are not all the figures, only the ones in his database. So there are more to be released anyway. Only, he couldn't tell me how many.

So, a huge thanks goes to Dutchallosaur for taking so much of her time to give us all these news!

Although they are only planned to be released in one month, several JP2K9 figures were sold on eBay by a chinese seller. The sets sold were the Dino Battlers T-Rex vs. Triceratops set, the Dino Battlers T-Rex vs. Spinosaurus set, the Dino Trackers Billy vs Pteranodon set, and the Dino Trackers Diver vs. Spinosaurus set. One interesting thing is the fact that the Rex in the T-Rex vs. Trike set appears to be the brown version, instead of the more zany orange one seen recently. We'll see if it remains the same when more will show up...

In other news, the JPToys staff wishes to congratulate forum member Angelrex53, which is the happy mother of a little Kairi, born on June 1th! Congrats, Angel!

Yup, you read it right: Jurassic Park 2K10. Of course, for the time being, these are only rumors, but still, from what we know, 2010 is shaping up to be a great (if expensive) year for Jurassic Park figures collectors! Here's the juicy bit: a few days ago, a reliable source revealed that there are few new sculpts that have been worked on for the next JP toy line, which should be released in 2010. Yes, new sculpts! Of course, for privacy reasons, he couldn't reveal which dinosaurs are going to appear in this new line, but he could still tell us that the line isn't just repaints and the new sculpts will be VERY easy to spot amidst the many repainted older figures, or that there will be plenty of new dino figures as well as (much improved) new humans, but that although the new figures are vastly superior to what has come out in the past, they could still be more accurate. And to the questions about the presence of new vehicles: "However I can answer this question, though I don't want to give away too much. Let just say it is a full line of toys- everything you would expect from a Hasbro boy's toy line. ". Excited yet? I know I am.

In other news, we recently could settle the brown/orange T-Rex debate about the JP2K9 Trike/T-Rex 2-pack. It is indeed a true variation, and not just a prototype/released figure matter. Both versions can be found in the US and in Europe, so, variation hunters, you know what to do.

And, finally, much to everyone's surprise, it appears that Papo released a new dinosaur: the Oviraptor. It was found by forum member Macularius on a french website called Eveil Et Jeux. Forum moderator Dutchallosaur took her chance, ordered one, and recently received it. A picture of it can be found on this toy's new page. Enjoy!

So, it looks like 2010 is definitely shaping up to be a great year for Jurassic Park collectors! Forum member Rabidrex recently posted some info about the Revoltech Expo in Japan, where well-known Japanese brand Kaiyodo revealed their 2010 line-up. And yup, a T-Rex from Jurassic Park is among these new toys! For all the people who have wanted a well-articulated T-Rex for year, look no further, this one is gonna deliver. The only "downside" is its size: approximately 2.5" tall and about 6" long head to tail. But still, it's going to be a great piece of collectible to own. Check this link for a good view of the T-Rex prototype!

In other news, forum member Quetzalcoatlus, well known on our forums for the amazing customs made by a friend of his, Roberto, showed us the latest creation of his buddy: a custom of the unreleased TLW series 2 Triceratops! And boy, is this custom drool-worthy! And it also features removable dino-damage piece, and movable legs! Indeed, one awesome piece to own. Hey folks! What a crazy week-end, heh? And it's not over yet! After the reveal of Mattel's awesome new line, here's a much needed checklist of everything known or rumored to be released this year. Hey folks, it's been a while! As you know, the 2019 New York Toy Fair came and went, and even though it was rather underwhelming, considering the few new items that were shown, it didn't stop Mattel from stealing the show with their long rumored Indominus Rex being finally fully revelead! Besides, many people were expecting to see the giant Legacy Brachiosaurus shown during that show, but even though it wasn't present in "person", Mattel was quick to post online a picture of this magnificient beast in all of its glory, along with the good news that even if the Legacy line is a Target exclusive, they were going to try and release it worldwide in the regular line. Hey folks! Mattel has brought upon us a lot of things to love in 2023, with fun '93 homages, toys we would never have expected to have several years ago (I mean, if someone told me back in 2016-2017 that we would get an in-scale Mamenchisaurus or a Steven Spielberg action figure... :D ) and an overall satisfying continuation of our beloved Jurassic Park/World toyline. Is 2024 going to change that? Well, there's no sign pointing to it, with new '93 Classic sets planned following the tremendous success of this subline in 2023, a new mid-size format for the Hammond Collection, allowing for long-awaited species like Carnotaurus to be released in the correct scale, and more... Head on over to ebay.com where "darthadvisor" has some new JP/// items up for sale. The ones up for auction are the Spinosaurus, T-Rex, Triceratops and a Dilophosaurus. Right now the bid stands at $10 so you better hurry!

A couple of users who go by the name "TYRANT" and "Britt" sent Dan this comparison between the raptors from JP, TLW and JP///. They also said that their local Toys R Us had the T-Rex, Raptor, Spinosaurus and Triceratops for $10.99. On a personal note, I checked out my local Toys R Us for any JP/// merchandise and had no luck at all. I have a feeling that most everybody should start seeing the merchandise in store by the end of next week. Have you spotted any JP/// action figures yet? When you do, drop me a e-mail and give me your thoughts, reviews or any comments on what you saw and I'll be sure to post it.

After weeks of checking and checking, my local Wal-Mart finally received a shipment of JP/// merchandise. The only line they had was the "Re-Ak A-Tak" line. I was only able to pick up a couple right now (some of us have a budget to stick to ) . The two I chose were the Velociraptor and the Spinosaurus, next time around I'll get the Triceratops and T-Rex. As for the look of these new dinos, to be so small I thought they had excellent detail and great colors. I was able to pick them up for what I thought was a very decent price, $9.73. Most people have been reporting prices of over $10. If you have any other questions you would like to ask me about the Spino or the raptor please e-mail me and I'll be glad to answer your questions!

In part one of our look at the new JP/// toys, we'll take a look at the Alpha Velociraptor and the Spinosaurus. Also, Don't forget to vote in our current poll which is a very important one concerning a pending site addition that you could decide! Alpha Velociraptor- When I first saw this new raptor the thing that struck me the most was the great use of colors. Not only did the raptor have great colors but they looked realistic. I know that no one can actually know what a real dinosaur looks like but with previous attempts at making the raptors with new colors (TLW Cyclops Raptor) it just didn't have an authentic look. The new Raptor has two different electronic sounds that add too the enjoyment of this new toy. The first button is located right under the base of the neck and blends in very well with the red stripe running down its back. The sound is best described as a snort followed by the loud raptor scream that we've come accustomed to in the movies. The second "Dino Roar" is located near the base of the tail and is camoflaged with the "Dino Damage" wound very well. I would describe the sound as more of a raptor snarl than anything else. Now on to the measurements. The Alpha raptor in the box measures about 7 1/2 inches from head to tail. At first, I was very surprised in that I thought the "Re-Ak At-Ak" line would be a little bigger, but with the improvements in the coloring of the raptor and the cool sounds I give this new raptor 4 out of 5 stars. The only problem I had with the Alpha Raptor was that it was very hard to pose. The only thing that moves are the arms and legs, the head pose and the tail remain stationary. Spinosaurus - The Spinosaurus has some of the best detail for a smaller dinosaur toy that I've ever seen! The basic color used was brown mixed with what looks like a little bit of gold? All in all I thought it looked great and kind of reminded me of some of the coloring from the Dinosaurs (T-Rex and the Velociraptor) from the original Jurassic Park movie, kind of a throwback if you will. Like the Alpha Raptor this new dino also has two places for electronic roars called "Dino Roars". The first button is found under the neck of the Spino and is best described as a roar. The second button is found in the "dino damage" wound of the Spino and sounds more like a scream when compared to the roaring sound found under the neck. In the box the Spinosaurus measures about 8 inches from head to tail. It has moveable arms and legs, but once again a stationary head and tail, which allows for no movement at all. Compared to previous attempts at the Spinosaurus by the toy lines, I'll give this new attempt a 5 star rating. That does it for this first review, but make sure to check back soon when I'll be reviewing more toys from the Re-ak At-ak line for you. Next up for review: The T-Rex and the Triceratops.

After reading our review make sure to check out our new Review section which is where you can find our past toy reviews as well as reviews sent in by you. In part two of our look at the new JP/// toys we'll take a look at the T-Rex and the Triceratops. My review will be broken down into four sections: color, sounds, measurements and finally an overall rating of the dinosaur. We'll start with the T-rex. T-Rex - Is this guy ready to sign up for the military or what? This new Rex almost look like he's wearing camoflage with it's use of mostly green and brown colors with a few black stripes thrown in here and there for some flavor (I feel like I'm cooking here!). The Rex has two sounds a.k.a. "dino roars" that are activated by pressing two different buttons. The first button that I came across was the one located just under his neck. When pressed the Rex opens his jaws and lets out a mighty roar that somewhat resembles the one that we've heard before in the movies. The one problem that I have with these sounds is that they are very harsh sounding sometimes. I sounds more like a "dino scream" than a "dino roar" if you know what I mean. Compared to other versions of the Rex that have been released, this one definitely falls way short of my expectations. Just like the Alpha Raptor and the Spinosaurus, I was expecting a much larger dinosaur. Also, the lack of any real ability to pose or move these new toys forces me to give this particular T-Rex 2 1/2 out of 5 stars. Triceratops - One of everbody's favorite dinosaurs is the triceratops and I thought he was well represented here with a nice color scheme. The most dominant color is brown mixed with a few darker spots here and there. The horns are colored white as is several spots that line the crest of this toy. With the attempts at recreating "dino roars" with these new toys, one has to wonder "we're they right"? Well, who knows but I'm not exactly sure what they were aiming at with this one. This tric lets out more of a scream than a roar, although the scream does try to turn into a roar near the end. Like the Rex, the trics electronic dino roar is located in the dino damaged wound are camoflaged as part of a bone. My first impression of the new triceratops was "not that bad". The nice use of colors and accurate looking skin texture gave this dino a fresh new look. Not to mention you can actually move this guy around a little better by moving his head up and down and the tail is made out of rubber which makes it a little more flexible than the other dinos. My final review for this tric : 3 1/2 out of 5 stars. Now go check out our new review section where Chris sent in a great review on his thoughts of the new toys. TOY DIVER PICTURE

I'm working very hard on a couple of reviews for the site today as well as a review or two sent in by some of you guys. Until then this should hold you over, "Darth Maul Sith Lord" at InGenOps posted this picture on the inGenNet forum of the Military diver that is supposed to come with the Spinosaurus. The detail of the figure is hard to make out but very cool nontheless! Rember to check back later today when I'll have my review of the T-Rex and the Triceratops from the "Re-ak A-tak" line.

"Britt" sent Dan over at Dan's JP3 page this very cool photo of the raptor attack studio playset from Lego which will contain two raptors, a Pteranodon, actor, actress, and a cameraman. It has 154 pieces and will reatil for $19.99. ELECTRONIC HATCHLINGS SHOWING UP There has been plenty of talk going on the inGenNet boards about these little guys showing up. I personally haven't spotted any but from the descriptions that I've been hearing they sound pretty cool. Apparently these new hatchlings are different from the old ones from Jurassic Park and TLW in that they have an electronic sensor in them that gives off a sound when you wave your hand in front of them. The set includes a Triceratops, a T-Rex, and a Velociraprtor. Be on the look-out for theses guys and let me hear from you if you spot any. Update: (5/22/01) - The hatchlings are indeed showing up in fact, I spotted some over the weekend at my local Toys 'R' Us. So be on the look-out for them and you can check out a picture of the T-Rex hatchling in the JP/// series of photos.

It seems that way at least according to "Mr. Goodbytes" who dropped me an e-mail to let me know about the recent sitings by members at inGenNet of some JP/// exclusives at Wal-Mart. Apparently you can now buy a pack that includes a re-paint of Harpoon Harrison (JP series 2 figure) as an African-American, a cyclops raptor re-paint and another re-paint of a Lost World triceratops. The pack retails for around $15. I haven't spotted this pack anywhere yet but I would love to see a photo if someone that has purchased it would like to send it to us here. In other news, I'm working on a review of the new "Re-ak A-tak" Pteranodon (which is awesome) and Dilophosaurus which should be up sometime tomorrow so keep checking back for that. Also, Nick wants me to let you know that he recently purchased the Raptor cycle pursuit set and is hard at work on a review fot it. So, stay tuned for a lot of reviews coming your way!

After reading about all the sitings of the new JP/// "Dino Packs" (see yesterday's news) I decided to go and look for myself. At the first CVS I had no luck but I decided to try another one at the other end of town, and I hit the jackpot baby! They had a display up front with about 6 or 7 packs left (I got two) and also to my surprise they had JP/// diecast and the other figures w/dinos (I picked up Amand Kirby w/Spino). Each pack contains three dinos that are very well detailed to be so small, you could actually use theses guys as hatchlings for your dioramas! As for actual sizes, they vary any where from about 1-2 inches in length. Here's something interesting that I didn't know, these packs are actually meant for playing a game! You get different scores for how the dinos land when you roll them. For example: a standing dinosaur is woth 5 points and a resting dino on its side is worth 4 points. Out of a possible 18 different species, I did pretty well in not getting any duplicates. The ones I got were: T-Rex, Baby stegosaurus, Baby Triceratops, Compsognathus. Parasaurolophus, and a Chasmasaurus. Like I said, they all have excellent detail and nice color schemes. Heres a complete list of the ones available: Dilophosaurus, T-Rex, Baby T-Rex, Velociraptor, Spinosaurus, Compsognathus, Dimetrodon, Triceratops, Baby Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Baby Stegosaurus, Chasmasaurus, Brachiosaur, Pachycephalosaurs, Parasaurolophus, Ankylasaurus, Pteranodon, and Gallimimus. So keeplooking around and maybe you'll luck up to! Sorry for the lack of a picture but I don't have access to a scanner (maybe I'll get one for my birthday!).

Dan the man once again brings us some great news this time it's about the new LEGO "Dinosaur" series. Here's what he had to say: "Quite a few people on the INGennet forums have been wondering about fan-made LEGO JP dinosaurs, playsets, and the like. Well, now LEGO has created "Dinosaurs," a series of toy LEGO dinos that are detailed, poseable, and compatible with the LEGO Studios JP/// Playsets!!! Each dinosaur is from 7-11 inches long and can be transformed with other pieces into 3 other dinosaurs!!! The series includes: -Mososaurus 11 in. long, 26 pieces. Can be transformed into: -Dimetrodon -Postosuchus -Iguanadon -Brachiosaurus 10 in long, 25 pieces. Can be transformed into: -Diplodocus -Plesiosaurus -Plateosaurus -Styracosaurus 7 in. long, 19 pieces. Have you wondered recently about those Hasbro two packs listed on Amazon.com's website? Well our good friend Dan J. decided to do a little investigating on his own. Here's his e-mail to Hasbro and then their respnose: Hello Hasbro Consumer Affairs Associate, While on Amazon.com I found three listings for dinosaur sets that include 2 dinosaurs per set: Spinosaurus/Pteranadon, T-Rex/Dilophosaurus, Raptor/Triceratops. Are these continuations of the Jurassic Park 3 line? Will they be repaints, or all new figures? Also, will there be any more Jurassic Park 3 humans/dinos/playsets, and if so, what will they be? I would truly like to know. Please write back (no form letters please) soon, and I look forward to your response. According to the Jurassic Park Institute, it looks like paleontologist Dr. Jack Horner may have recovered the largest T-Rex ever discovered! Here's a little blurb from the article: "Located in Montana's badlands near Bozeman, Horner describes the discovery area as being one of the richest fossil sites ever found. Digging in sediments 68 million years old, his team has recovered five T. rex specimens, several duck-billed dinosaurs, 50 Triceratops and a variety of other prehistoric materials that include crocodiles, turtles, and leaf deposits. Such plentiful and diverse discoveries will help Horner and his team to better understand the ecosystem that existed in this area 68 million years ago, which was just three million years before the dinosaurs vanished." Did everyone have a great weekend? I hope it went well. First up today we have a total of five new reviews from my moderators Acro & Tyrannosaurus Rex. Tyrannosaurus covered some of TLW toys including: Stegosaurus, Pachycephalosaurus and the Junior Triceratops. He also reviewed Billy Brennan from JP///. Acro reviewed the series two Nick Van Owen from TLW series and he plans to have a couple more done for us soon so be on the look-out for those. The new reviews I just mentioned can be found in our review section which I took the time to reoraganize last night. I've broken them down into JP, TLW, JP/// and miscellaneous (for games and such) so it should be a bit eaiser to find a specific review now.

Take a look at the very rare TLW collector cards that were only released in Europe in very limited quantities. Forum moderator 'Triceratops123' was kind enough to provide the scans and we've now uploaded them to our Lost World section for your viewing pleasure.

Forum moderator 'Triceratops123' came across an interesting LEGO bootleg recently that is based on the JP Raptor Pit. You can view the picture by clicking here. More pics can be found on our forum. Along those same lines, we have a new custom addition from 'Eddi' that features his take on that same Raptor Pit from the first film.

Forum member 'Triceratops 123' recently posted a very interesting article (written by himself with help from an ex-Hasbro employee) that details just what went on in the days right before the doors closed at Kenner. This in turn lead to the eventual scale issues that we're all too familar with in the JP3 line. Here's what he had to say:

"It all starts with Chaos Effect. Sales are less than expected, and the Night Hunter series is cancelled because of this. The Jurassic Park series becomes "somewhat of a thorn in Hasbro's eye".

In 2000, Star Wars Episode One toys were overproduced. Sales were low and Hasbro had to downsize. The victim was the Kenner department in Cincinatti. 100 people were transferred, 400 were fired. Amongst these 400 was the Jurassic Park design team (not just JP, they also designed Batman amongst other toy lines) , who had just started the very early concepts for Jurassic Park///. Now that there wasn't a design team for Jurassic Park anymore, Hasbro assigned it to their Star Wars people, who scaled the humans to be in size with Star Wars figures, and made the style of the toys similar to the ones from Episode II.

This is, in a nutshell, why the scale and style is so different from 2001 onwards. The employee that I've had contact with is indeed one of the fired people, and he helped me on detailing the story and pointed out few mistakes on my account, but my research results were pretty much correct when I put them together."

So we can all blame it on George Lucas eh? Regardless of how it all came down, it does provide a nice behind the scenes look at just what was going on during that time. We hope to bring you more of these articles in the future and create a somewhat comprehensive look at the history of the Jurassic Park line.

Nothing earth shattering to pass along here but probably woth mentioning nonetheless. It seems that last year's new line of JP Dinosaurs are starting to pop up at KB Toy stores again. It looks like a last ditch effort on their part to clear out some back inventory as most everything has been heavily reduced. Just last weekend I had family from Florida call to ask me if I needed any because their local KB Outlet was stocked to the max with of course the discounted prices. Site Co-Owner Armothe just recently found them as well. Here's his report:

"I know its halfway into 2006 but the most recent 2005 JP Deluxe Dinos started popping up at KBToys and KB Toy Works/Outlets.

The list includes:

Anyway we just wanted to pass that along for those of you that might not have picked up some of the items from last year. Now is probably your last chance to find them in stores...especially at these prices. This public service announcement was brought to you by your friendly staff at JPToys.com.

It was bound to happen. The Chap Mei company has been producing dinosaur toys strongly inspired by Jurassic Park toys for some time now. Well, it appears that they acquired the license to produce official JP toys. This picture was sent by someone claiming to be a Chap Mei designer (more than likely an early prototype). Here's what he had to say concerning the matter, including some interesting news about upcoming toys.

"Hello, I'm a concept designer working for the Chap Mei company, and I've been working on several series including Dino Quest, Beast Raider and the soon-to-be-released Wild Park series. I'm writing you to give Jurassic Park fans some good news for the toyline. An announcement from the Hasbro company will soon be made about their loss of the Jurassic Park license, but by the end of the year, a new Jurassic Park line will be released in the European market, and in the US market later, by the Chap Mei company. We are currently working on the look of the line, but here's the concept art that will likely be chosen. The line-up has also been approved, and will likely be similar to this:

Basic assortment:

- Tyrannosaurus Rex
- Dimetrodon
- Pteradon
- Raptor Alpha
- Triceratops

Ultra assortment:

- Ultra T-Rex w/ Alan Grant
- Spinosaurus w/ Tim Murphy

Of course, some changes might occur, but that is everything planned so far. In other news today, we have new dioramas up from 'Evilrex' (now Evilstudios) and a new gallery from 'The Big Wil'.

The news keeps coming fast and furious here at JPtoys lately! This latest news item was stubmbled upon by forum members 'Triceratops123', 'giganotoigauana' and 'parasaurolophus722 and appears to be a mock-up or prototype packaged version of the previously unreleased JPS2 Ornithosuchus. Similar to the packaged (but unreleased) CE Ultimasaurus, this Ornithosuchus was more than likely packaged for showcase at a Toy Fair but ultimately never saw the light of toy store shelves. The Ornithosuchus was being sold on eBay in England but unforunately was cancelled recently due to what the seller termed "oversealous fans" asking too many questions about the item.

In an update to yesterday's story, 'robotassassin' and 'spinosaur122' were kind enough to pass along pics of all the new JPD3 micro-dino 2-packs:

Overall I'm just not too impressed. Repaints are one thing but excluding the Triceratops (only because it's a new mold), these new micro dinos are just plain uninspiring and hideous. The days of "well at least we're getting something new" are long over IMO. They were even careless enough to label the Stegosaurus a "Spinosaurus" on the front of the Raptor/Stego box (unless of course it's an error). They probably thought we'd never notice huh? Silly JP toy fans. Hasbro should be ashamed, we as JP fans deserve more!

Just when some were starting to doubt whether we'd see these new "micro-dinos" we get the following report from forum member 'robotassassin':

"I'm new to the board and I just returned from Florida. I was at Universal Studios, Orlando. I loved the JP area at the Islands of Adventure. The river ride was great but a bit short and the discovery center was closed off for remodeling!!! . Anyways back on the subject. As you all may know there is a new series of mini JPD("Jurassic park dinosaurs") being released by Hasbro, along with the large electronic t-rex & pterranodon, and the regular 3 electronic dinos w/3 mini dinos. I happen to go shopping around in the smaller shop that is located within the discovery center and to my surprise they had all 4 of the new mini-dino packs.

-Tyrannosaurus Rex & Spinosaurus
-Tyrannosaurus Rex & Triceratops
-Stegosaurus & Velociraptor
-Pteranodon & "compy"

I purchased the "Tyrannosaurus Rex & Spinosaurus" and the "Tyrannosaurus Rex & Triceratops." Both are great! This line is starting to get serious and is showing more "realistic/movie-like" paint apps. They don't appear silly or odd like their previous releases."

In news around the site today, some pretty cool new CE prototypes of Ian Malcom & Roland Tembo were spotted by forum member 'cityscapes' and those are now up for your viewing pleasure in our prototypes section. Finally today we have a new diorama gallery from 'dilophosaurus1' that includes over 17 dioramas.

As you may or may not have noticed lately, we've recently undertaken the task of updating some of our older toy database shots as well as adding hundreds of new ones. The update was LONG overdue but better late than never...right? We'll continue to add shots in the coming weeks but the massive first push is over with, just a few things here and there left. I also have to thank our good friend Marten (better known as 'Gallimimus' on the forum) for helping provide many of the new shots you see. He has been quite genrous with his time and for that, I will always be grateful! Other than that today, we have a new collection gallery up from 'Triceratops123' and it's in flash!

We've got some very interesting news to pass along to you today from forum user 'Frost' over on the Jurassic Island Forums: "Recenty I visited a Italian Resturant named Fazoli's. While going through the Drive In Pick up Line, I couldn't believe my Eyes when I seen a poster of Four Jurassic Park Dinosaurs. The resturant is giving out four different types of dinosaurs Skeletions that you put together, Tyrannosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Triceratops, Pteranodon. They come in a middle sized package with the JP:I symbol on the center, and you can carry the bones in a large egg with JP symbol printed on that. Each toy comes with a trading card with information on that dinosaur. I will soon be able to scan a information picture of the toys, (I'm saving up to buy extra where I can open some)." Is it really possible that we're now a decade removed from the opening of a movie that changed most of us forever? It may be 10 years old but it seems just like yesterday that I was waiting in line to see it for the first time. The large theater was packed as people eagerly awaited their first glimpse of "real" dinosaurs. Heck, I can even remember where I was seated! Few movies have that kind of impact. We may not know where this great franchise will end up but I don't think any of us will ever forget where it started on this day 10 years ago. In celebration we have a couple of items to pass along. First up, we now have several new pictures up for your viewing pleasure of those JP Institute toys being given away by Fazoli's. For the Brachiosaurus we have shots of the skeleton, back of the collector card as well as the egg that contains it all. We also have our first glimpse of the Triceratops which includes a look at the skeleton and the front and back of its collector card. A big thanks goes out to JPDino for supplying us with those pics. Also today, we have finally managed to put up our long overdue reviews of the JP DVD trilogy which is something I'm sure most everyone will be spinning in their DVD player over the next few days! Lastly today, I want to give a "Big" shout out to Razzie and thank her for all of the wonderful JP anniversiary logos she's created over the last few weeks. She has plenty of designs ready for the choosing so make sure to check them out today!

JPobsessed mentioned that each deluxe figure was $14.97. Based on the back of the box, it looks like we'll have much more to collect in the coming weeks/months. For sure we see 3 new regular dinos - T-Rex w/micro Triceratops, Velociraptor w/micro Pteranodon and a Triceratops w/micro velociraptor. We also see at least 3 new 2-packs, with a 4th listed (Pteranodon & Compy) but not shown. We'll be sure to bring you more details as they become available so stay tuned here to JPtoys.com for all the latest!

Here's a new line of toys that forum member Neelis came across recently. They are manufactured by the French toy company Papo and are currently available only overseas. However, US site tgftoys and linkandpinhobbies expect them in the states soon. The set includes a T-Rex, Velociraptor, Triceratops and a Parasaurolophus. The detail and likeness to their actual JP movie counterparts is something we definitely haven't seen in toy form before.

Here's what Neelis had to say regarding measurements:

The Rex is as big as the Jurassic Park III Re-Ak At-Ak Tyrannosaurus: but much, much more detailed. (It can't move it's limbs, by the way, the mouth is the only moving part.) The Raptor's head comes up to the chest of the Tyrannosaurus. Tyrannosaurus Rex Length: approx. 19 cm (head to curve in tail) Height: approx. 15.5 cm Velociraptor Length: approx. 16 cm (head to tail) Height: approx. 8 cm they aren't scaled, but it doesn't even matter: they are very well executed: If you see them you would swear they could have been official Jurassic Park toys. If only Universal would see this, strike a deal with Papo and have them create another line, with more dinosaurs from Jurassic Park: what great collectors items they could become!

Yes indeed. Hasbro could definitely learn a few things from this line. We can hope...right?? In the meantime, these Papo toys are definitely a very cool alternative. Every once in a while some truly unique JP related items surface on the net that we like to pass along to you guys. A couple of years ago it was the custom painted Bull T-Rex. This time forum moderator Stich came across a wonderful Baby Triceratops painting on ebay. The painting was done by Tom Amici using the JPS2 Tricertops hatchling as a guide. He used airbrush, colored pencils and acrylics. You can view a larger verison of the image by clicking on the thumbnail to the right or by viewing the auction itself.

Bucketfoot-Al continues cranking out customs at a record pace here lately as evidenced by the latest additions to his gallery. They include a Safari Galaxy Triceratops, Tanyia Chasmosaurus & Brachiosaurus. This should tide us over until his anticipated Horizon Brachio. In other custom news, have you seen the latest over at Big Razzie's? She's posted a few new ones (all JP series 1) from 'Amber' that include a repainted Alan Grant into John Hammond (complete with cane), and a very colorful Pteranodon hatchling & Velociraptor. Be sure to check those out when you get a chance. Last but certainly not least today, we have a new poll up for your voting pleasure.

A few days ago, Susan from the Family Library received a charitable donation of loose toys with what appeared to be several Jurassic Park dinosaurs in the mix. Paperwork requires her to catalog each toy with a description, manufacturer and manufacturer's date. She managed to find JPToys online and asked for assistance. JPToys identified and provided information about: TLW Remote Control Stegosaurus (ToyBiz), TLW Remote Control Triceratops(ToyBiz), and TLW Finger Puppets (Resaurus). Read what Susan had to say:

"As a Librarian for a combination toy and book library and resource room, I had looked everywhere on the net to try to find needed product information to catalog some Jurassic Park toy donations. I was very lucky to find the JP Toys site. Their resident geniuses were able to tell me the titles of the toys, the product information (vital to cataloguers), and provided pictures for our visual catalog!

Forum member 'Permian-Triassic Fan' came across a new JP3 Ankylosaurus bootleg recently at his local Dollar Store. The package comes complete with a smaller repainted version of the JP3 Triceratops and repaint of TLW Eddie Carr Triceratops hatchling. Check it out in our bootlegs section today!

Cutsom maker extraordinaire, Bucketfoot-Al, has submitted a total of 6 brand new customs. Those include a McVey Resin T-Rex, Salas Resin Therezinosaurus & Spinosaurus, Salas Argentinosaurus, an update to his Galaxy Triceratops gallery and last but not least, the long awaited modified Horizon Jurassic Park Brachiosaurus. All of those are now up in Al's gallery.

Also today, we have a new poll up for your voting pleasure. In our last poll we asked, "How old a collector are ya?". Well over 400 people chimed in and 52% of you fell into the 11-15 group, second with 22% was the 16-20 group and the under 10 and 21-30 group pulled in 13% respectively. Just some numbers to chew on...man I'm gettin' old.

Recently a total of 5 new never before seen JP3 prototypes have shown up on eBay. They include the Marine Copter, Alpha Pteranodon, Alpha Raptor, T-Rex and Triceratops. All are now up in our prototypes section for your viewing pleasure.

In our continuing effort to keep you informed on the JP:D 2 line, site contributor Mr. Goodbytes received the following response from a Hasbro rep when inquiring about the "missing" 2 large dinos:

This does contradict other responses we've received from Hasbro (see 8/29 update) about the missing 2 so I guess we'll have to take a wait and see approach to this news. We'll let you know as soon as something more concrete comes along. In other news today, we have a new custom gallery from smyles that features a Carnage Triceratops repaint.

Forum member Quetzalcoatlus posted yet another custom of his friend, Roberto. After the very good copy of the unreleased TLW series 2 Triceratops he managed to copy the Ultimasaurus from the Chaos Effect series. He even managed to modify the figure into something even more bad-ass! No T-Rex would want to meet this guy out in the open... More pictures are found here on the forums.

And yet again we are proud to present you: an interview with the designer of the The Lost World line! Mr Joe DeVito speaks about designing the toys. Did you know that the magnet in the Compognathus' head was his idea? Mr Devito also designed the famous unreleased TLWS2 Triceratops and... the unreleased TLW Euoplocephalus! That's not all: he gave us the concept art! Check out the entire interview here! We also opened a discussion thread on the forum, here.

Today we have exciting news, it has brought to our attention by several members that TODAY on TRAVEL CHANNEL, around 9 pm EST, the episode titled 'Prehistoric Pennsylvania' will air, which features many Jurassic Park prototypes. From the pictures available we saw that there are many prototypes, like a Thrasher T-Rex, but also the notorious unreleased TLWS2 Triceratops! This is an episode you cannot miss! Since many foreign members cannot watch this episode, they are advised to keep an eye on the forum. We will try to offer a solution.

And yes, it does include the notorious TLWS2 Triceratops, TWICE.
